1 Prologue

("This can't be real. It can't be.")

He ran away as fast as he could. His pulse was raging, his breath erratic and his whole body shivered. Survival was all he knew now. He didn't have time to think, to even understand what just happened in front of him. All those men slaughtered in the blink of an eye. The royal guards, the imperial paladins, the great archwizard and even the crown prince… they never stood a chance. From the moment they had summoned them, these monsters were a threat that they couldn't contain and now they could become a threat to the whole world…

("I need to report this to his majesty. He needs to know…!")

As he ran all this time, he almost reached the end of the secret pathway out of the castle. With a sliver of hope he reached out for the door, the last barrier stopping him from freedom and safety. He grabbed the doorknob with his sweaty hands, twisting it to open the door.

Suddenly, he felt a hand around his neck. Breaking in through the wall of the passage, he was overwhelmed by his pursuer. Taken by complete surprise he was grabbed by his neck and pressed into the other wall.

With a devilish smile on his face, the pursuer looked his prey straight into the eyes: "You almost made it. Kira, I got him."

"Good job, Blake", Kira answered after hearing his friends words through their shared telepathy. With a clap of his hands Blake and his prey instantly appeared in front of him, back in the room where they were summoned.

Losing his breath due to Blake grabbing his neck, he started clawing at Blake's arm, trying to free himself, but to no avail.

("This is it. I can't break free…")

Suddenly Blake released his captive from his grip, as he turned to his two friends with stretched arms. "Alright, he's all yours."

Frantically he grasped for air after he was released. He tried to think of a way to escape from them, but he knew it was hopeless. Before he could even manage to make a plan, his options were completely removed.

"Freeze." With a simple word Kira activated a spell, which completely binded the man and limited his movement next to nothing. After he confirmed the effect of his spell, Kira is satisfied and turns his attention to the girl of their group.

"Clair, if you would?"

"Of course, senpai."

She walked past Kira and approached the man, as she grabbed her beautiful and silky black hair and moved it to be on the right side of her body. She then knelt down beside him and released her mana.

("Are they going to torture me for information…?")

She put her forehead against that of their captive and activated her spell "Connect".

Unable to stop and oppose Clair, the man felt the full force of her action. Images from his life started to pop up in his head and flooded his mind with information he had and knew. Paralysed he tried to block her out, but the strain on his mind was simply too much. His head felt like it was about to explode, as Clair extracted everything she wanted to know. Just as he was about to give up, it stopped.

"Okay, I've got a good grasp on the situation now. This guy by the way seems to be the second prince of this country called "Seraph". His name is Adian. Other than that, it's exactly as we thought. They tried to summon someone to stop some kind of calamity and ended up with us. This also doesn't seem to be the first time they tried it, though the others before us were apparently all killed after some dissonance between them and the Seraphim.

"Did you find anything about us being sent back?", Kira asked while he released Adian from his spell.

"Doesn't seem like they are capable of that. There might be a way some other countries know, but at the very least Seraph can't do that."

"I guess there's no helping it. Did you guys consider my proposal?"

"I'll follow you anywhere", Clair answered as she grabbed Kira's arm and huddled up to him.

"I don't mind either", Blake declared. "Considering what we went through already, we might as well enjoy this and make the most out of it."

"Alright then. Time to get out of here and get to know this world."

As the three of them were about to leave the castle, they were suddenly interrupted.

"W-Wait!", Adian shouted as he was still on the ground, completely exhausted.

"Tell me… what are you going to do?"

Turning around Kira looked at the weakened Adian with a big smile.

"What we're going to do? Anything we feel like." As soon as he finished his answer, they teleported away, leaving Adian to himself.
