7 On the Road to Nowhere

(Warning: if you are uncomfortable with the use of curse words this is your warning, this chapter will include some)

Isak kept on running until he fell to the ground from exhaustion, his face was covered in a mix of blood, sweat and mud. He was about a mile and a half from the town, he wanted to just lie down and fall asleep but he got himself up and started to walk, it was about lunch and his stomach roared for food.

Isak just smiled, tears in the corner of his eyes and he laughed while looking at the sky, he was walking on a road, no idea where to go, all he knew was that his one source for help was likely dead or he was lied to about it, he didn't care. He knew he would, he had to, reach the Demigod camp, he didn't know the name but assumed it would be something like Camp Half-blood not something stupid like it being named after a God, that would be a bit cocky.

Isak kept on walking until he reached a small lake, he went near it and just jumped in. Isak laid there for hours, some people had walked passed and just looked at him like he was a crazy person but they walked away. His wounds healed leaving very faint scars and his energy partially replenished thanks to the relax, now the only thing on his mind was food.

Larsen got out of the lake and carried on walking, while his energy was fine the growling that his stomach was making would not stop but he continued walking until he reached another town. Having by now walked about five miles from the previous town, the water helped a lot, he was starving.

He didn't see much in this town and what he did see where small a couple houses, like literally three, then there was a gas station and a small shop. Isak walked over to the shop, he checked inside to see a fat, bald, grumpy looking man just sitting behind the till.

"What the hell do you want?!" The bald man asked in a demanding voice as he glared at Isak, then again Isak did look like a homeless kid, partially because he was and he was dirty as well as soaked.

"Just looking for food," Isak answered but Isak, himself, knew he was going to have to steal it as he had no money at all "what the hell is wrong with you?"

Isak instantly regretted what he had said, the man now medusa glared at him, well at least that's how ugly it was. The man didn't take a single second to blink as he stared at Isak looking round the shop. Still though, Isak ignored him, just looking round the shop.

Isak found food such as goldfish crackers, flaming hot cheetos, twinkies, a box of fruit loops, a box of beef jerkey and jolly rancher chews. He also found a backpack and two litre bottles of water. He put everything he found in the bag and ran out the door.

"Hey, hey you little fucking scumbag, come back here!!!" The bald fat man screamed at Isak but Isak didn't listen, he started to sprint which didn't help his hunger but he knew he needed to get out of there and fast.

He sprinted for a good twenty minutes and had left the town behind, Isak opened the bag and grabbed some food, he chowed down on it like it was his last meal, he enjoyed the food but knew he couldn't eat all of it, he knew he needed to ration it out as he didn't know when he would next be able to get food.

He kept on his journey not knowing where he would go or what he would do but he guessed this was his life now. All day he had been either running or fighting, his body finally felt ready to blackout for the third time today but he kept himself awake, he didn't where or how he was going to sleep as monsters would likely attack and he doesn't have anyone to help or defend himself.

Then he saw a car, a car that had abandoned on the side of the road, light smoke out the front of the car but Isak didn't know that meant, he walked to the side of the car seeing no one in it and decided to get some sleep. At least he would've if he didn't notice the hellhound glaring at him, the red eyes lit up the near night area, it was as large as a small bear and was covered in black fur.

"Sorry Mum but you've got to be shitting me." Isak said to himself his body was already near exhaustion and Isak knew if he fell asleep he would be killed by this creature of hell. He had only kild four before as he had major backup from the wolves and was fully energised so could use multiple lightning strikes, now if he did anything other than attacks with his trident he would likely fall down and even then the chances of him falling asleep or unconscious where still high.

"Calm boy, calm boy," Isak spoke to the hound waving his hands down as if to say 'down', he walked closer to the hell beast having his trident close to his hand so he could grab it "it's ok, it's ok."

The hellhound seemed calm and relaxed at first then it attacked, it leaped out at Isak and Isak shoved his trident at the beast, the demon moved out the way ever so slightly. It growled at Isak but of course he had no idea what it was saying so he backed up a bit and got ready for his fight.

He was already breathing heavily and his eyes were starting to close ever so slightly, then the beast leaped at Isak again, Isak charged at it. The lone Demigod didn't know what would happen but he spun round and ground slammed with the trident spears pointing down onto the hellhound, killing it instantly.

Isak's body was slumped over, he got back to the smoking car, layed down and closed his eyes. He was too tired to even think.
