4 Enter the Thunder Trident

Isak left the Wolf House, he started to just walk in the woods waiting for the trident training, it was still a warm summer day, it must have been June sixth? June seventh? Something like. The forest grass was mainly green with patches of damp wet mud appearing every now and again. The leaves on the oak trees were a mix of dark and forest green, there was a small rocky hill near the Wolf House and a small pond like river about a ten minute walk away from it to the right.

There was a opening in the trees only about a 5 minute walk from the Wolf House to the East, Isak only knew this thanks to the sun rise and its setting, the sky was full of small mist like clouds, the orangery-yellow sun beaming down on him. Isak walked into the opening in the forest, he saw the burnt grass all around which likely came from his lightning.

He just sat there, thinking of ways to get better at fighting, he came down to the conclusion of always fighting like if he didn't win then he would die, his Mum's sacrifice would be nothing. He held the weapon that he found? Or was it given to him? Well whatever, the trident that was combined with his Mother's spear, he felt like it filled him with power, with his Mother's last wish, he would fight no matter the consequences as long as he won.

He waited for his trainer or someone to arrive, he wanted to train more now, while early he wanted to end it all, him knowing his Mum fought for him meant he wouldn't let his Mother's final fight be for nothing. Finally after about twenty minutes someone arrived, it was the leader of the Wolf House.

"Hey, uhhhh, Wolf Goddess, what's your name?" Isak had finally built up enough courage to ask this question that was going on in the back of his mind, although he wouldn't admit that.

"My name is Lupa," The newly named Lupa said with a slight scowl like she thought everyone knew it "how did you not know?"

"I don't know, my Mum only ever talked about the Olympians and the Norse Gods." Isak answered in a sort of of confused.

"Anyway, let us begin," Lupa spoke in a calm tone but her eyes showed she would kill him in an instant if he ever joined the monsters' side, at least that's what Isak got from that look "I will show how to fight with that weapon."

Lupa gave a 'quick' 2 hour explanation of how to fight with his trident and gave him a wooden human-like model to fight against as she walked away.

"Right, so all I got from Lupa was to fight like it's apart of my body, isn't that what they say to people fighting with Bo Staffs, at least she also gave some good advice as well," Isak said slightly irrated as he basically went through a two hour long speach over something he could've been told in five minutes.

"Ok, so you got your normal stabbing motions then you got your spin in a forward motion, first smacking them upwards with the blunt edge then switching to the blade side to either stab or knock backwards with....." Isak spoke to himself as his voice eventually became a murmur to quiet to hear.

He eventually got to work attacking the dummy given to him, Isak forced his trident into the model then taking it out, slamming the blunt edge at the head to knock it back and if it was a real monster or person maybe make them either dizzy or unconscious, finally he throws the trident at the dummy hitting it dead on in the face, then Isak slid underneath and went behind, he then kicked the dummy to the ground and picked up his trident.

Isak took a large breath before having a huge grin on his face, he finally had some method of fighting without falling unconscious and that counted as a win in his books. Then he did something stupid, he charged lightning through the trident, at first it sparked a little then a little more until a loud crack and bang was heard as the the trident flew out a light blue flash of ever moving light.

The lightning was more concentrated and more controlled, well ever so slightly. The light lit up the entire forest, the lightning hit the model figure with such strength that it was sent flying with a hole right through the middle, it's very core was burnt to a core. The lightning stopped and Isak fell onto a single knee taking a deep breath.

"Well," Isak said in an exhausted voice as he fell onto the ground, his eyes started to blink shut "that was cool." That was all he was able to say until he just layed there, closing his eyes and thinking about the beasts his Mother had told him about.

"Isak, you will need to know these in the future," A younger version of his mother said to him with a slight smile, her eyes shimmering as a dark brown, her hair a short curly blonde "these monsters may attack you in the future, you've got to prepare."

"I'll can beat any monster in a fight already," a younger shorter Isak said with a large mischievous grin "I'm stronger than Odin himself."

Isak's grin grew larger as his mother shook her head, they were in the middle of a field in England, they had a tent set up, a campfire ready for the night in a couple hours and a small four seater car next to the two person tent.

"One day maybe, but at the moment it's important to study them," Nora said as her smile disappeared and her tone sounded depressed "you may find friends unable to save themselves," then her smile appeared again as she wiped away her eyes "so, let's get into it."

Isak remembered the monster she talked of first, the World Serpent also know as Jormungand, it is pronounced YOUR-mun-gand, his Mother forced that in his head. It's a Serpent that is the child of Loki and Angrboða, it's designed to be killed by Thor and possess massive amounts of strength and it can generate poison. It is so big it can grasp it's own tail after wrapping around the Earth.

The second monster was one of Greek and Roman myth, The Hydra, a huge scaly lizard-like monster, it has nine heads and grows two more heads every time one is cut off, it spews acid from everyone of it's heads and has beyond superhuman level of strength.

These monsters sounded like nightmare creatures to Isak, the idea of a serpent big enough to eat him horrified him and an acid breathing multiple headed lizard that could likely melt his face off made him feel sick to his stomach, which could've also been melted.

He forced himself to wake up, it was likely around eight pm but the time didn't matter as he wasn't going to be allowed food, at least not with the pack. He left to the pond and prayed to his Father but all that happened was his trident somehow teleported and rose in the pond.

So like any normal idiot who liked testing things, Isak grabbdd the trident and threw it back into the woods and try to summon it in the water, it appeared in the pond and he reached out and grabbed it.

Even if he only had himself for trident training at least he had some sort of strategy, do blunt damage with the non-speared side then stab them with the spikes and if all else fails, thunder strike them, even though it only made the sound of thunder and was actually the attack charged by lightning.
