59 Work

Queen Bubbles and King Koi held a meeting together with the prince. Dean and Bella resurfaced to change the tanks. Drake informed them about a large ship a few kilometers from them and some boats who passed on the other side. They need to move fast.

The couple dove and saw that they were arranged in groups. Queen bubbles remain while the King and the two princes guide the people inside the space. She first called the family with children. The couple saw cute little mermaids clinging onto their parents while waving at them. Bella saw that the King directed these families in one of the apartment buildings with three floors. It has two to three bedrooms, ideal for them. So Bella directly moved them there to save time.

Most have things clinging on their backs like seaweeds, and some also have those plastic nets they used to carry their belongings. The mermaids in space looked happy, peaking their heads on the doors gossiping with neighbors, but they weren't going outside. She guessed that they were reminded to stay inside until all are finished moving, so it's easier to know which houses are free and occupied.

When they were finished, Queen and King went out with Bella.

"Isabella, I have to go back and cure the others, can you give me some of that special water?"

"Of course!" Four huge military duffle bags filled with bottled space water popped in front of them. King Koi held two bags in each arm.

"Thank you! Bella, my brothers, and sister hadn't arrived yet. They live far away. Can they also take refuge?"

"Sure, but please remind them about my conditions, because I won't be merciful if they do bad things inside."

"Yes, of course. I will ask for Fin's assistance. Can we meet at five moons from now? To make sure they'll arrive in time?"

"Sure!", "Thank you so much!" King Koi, together with Mr. Fin and the other four dolphins, swam away.

"Queen Bubbles, can you stay for a while and help me move some of these reefs?"

"I'm glad to help!" They stayed underwater the whole afternoon while changing tanks in between. When the sun sets, Queen Bubbles returns to space and everybody returns to the port.

They drove to meet Uncle Desmond and retrieved more cement houses and other resin furniture. He was happy to know that the mermaids were thankful for their hard work. They wanted to thank him personally one of these days. Of course, he's joyous, meeting the legendary mermaids!

They went back to the Villa and told of the events that happened while having dinner. Danika was particularly chatty and asked a lot of questions like what they eat? Can they speak their language? Blah Blah Blah. What do they do to pass time? It's better to ask them personally, so one of these days she'll bring her there to meet them.

In space, most of the pipes and electrical connections are finished. Only the roads and bridges are left. Bella made two large bridges made from magma based on Devan's description. One is placed near the waterfalls, and the other is in front of the clinic that she moved a little further. Having more space in front of the greenhouse was better.

Red bricks flew and lay on it embedding on the bridge. She added more support underneath so that trucks with heavy loads can pass if needed. On both sides, she made a one-meter canal. When the magma cooled down, the girls planted flowers with vines while the men spread cement in the gaps between the bricks.

Bella tossed some shrimp and fish at the river from the ponds that were getting crowded. She noticed that they reproduce faster, like every week she had to remove half in every pond. A month ago, barrels of them were also brought to the Battalion base and the other base where Drake started the hydroponics.

The source of these was confidential, so the soldiers who were working were dumbfounded and couldn't help salivate when they saw the huge version of these creatures. It was a disappointment at first because they were for experiments. But if they could cultivate this successfully, there will be more in the future. Their spirits were lifted.

Inside the cave are tons of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs stored in crates. Every night, she hands one basket to Grandma Meihui and two baskets of it to Butler Bo. They still buy outside, but those that she gives taste so much better. Grandma Dy can tell if it's not from space, cursing sometimes for being picky. While the others were busy, Grandpa Tang and Grandma Meihui drove the mini car from the greenhouse.

Bella took them to the time cave and showed how the five thousand ginseng was made. This time, she made four ten thousand years old ginseng. Grandpa almost kneeled but was supported by Grandma. He embraced the vase like a baby and happily went back to the greenhouse while murmuring something, forgetting they drove the car. Grandma shook her head. With Bella's help, the remaining ginseng moved in the trunk, then Grandma drove following Grandpa Tang.

At midnight they went for a brief swim and then returned to the study room aside from Dean and Bella. Since they're still full of energy, they tossed and turned in bed until three in the morning.

At breakfast, Aunt Deborah had a headache. Her colleagues were pestering her about the source of the water used for hydroponics.

They have done this process so many times, but this is the first time they had a greater result. So one of them tested the water from the base against ordinary water. That's where they discovered its effects. The plants were lush without fertilizers. The only problem was, it attracts insects like it's the most delicious food for them so they enclosed the place with metal screens to prevent them from entering but allows flow or air to pass.

She lied that herbs were soaked in the water, so she ordered a bunch from Grandpa Tang's pharmacy. He carefully selected those that cleanses the body and can be used as natural fertilizers for plants. The results were still not the same, but much better than just ordinary water. Another difference was the time frame. With space water, plants grew faster. She made an excuse that some variables are present like it was filtered so many times and minerals from the plants are also present, they wouldn't have the same results. For now, it silenced them. She was laughing so hard.

They've been friends for a long time and sure about their characters. The existence of the base was also known to them and they're like family so giving them apartments on apocalypse also includes in her plans. Even if she lied about the war, they believed her without batting an eye. Their families slowly transferred to the country and settled around Allegra City.

Bella needs to receive the deliveries while Adelle goes to the orphanage where she grew up. Clothes, shoes, quilts, books, and toys were delivered, and she wants to make sure it's enough for them this winter. She brought up her request to build an orphanage in the base. Grandpa Jin gladly approved because even if they didn't want to, many children may lose their families. Preparing a place for them will be good until they find a better solution.

While they were busy, others were eyeing their move. Grandpa Jin was busy with the base's construction, so he didn't meet anybody after the party. Some were itching for other reasons.

"Did you notice something odd when you stayed in the villa?"

"Yes, the construction is not finished until now. It's busier before the engagement. I thought it was because of it, but when we tried to visit, they said they're not ready to receive guests. From the gate, I saw more watch towers were built and trucks of goods were delivered."

"Did you ask your brother?"

"Yeah, he said that Grandfather is building a larger bunker and storing goods in case war erupts."

"War? Against who?"

"Well, he didn't tell." Olie had her bowed.

"You're really useless." Peter Jang puffed his cigarette angrily. He wanted to take this opportunity to get close to Zhang's, but it seems everybody is avoiding them.

He had an informant working inside Zhang's corporation. On the outside, everything is normal, stocks are stable, but underneath, the real estate business is frozen. All the employees affected were transferred to other establishments, not halting their salaries. It's a significant loss if it were an ordinary company, but to them, it's just the tip of the iceberg. Will there be a war? Most of his business is in Galvin's country, so he needs more information. Relying on his wife was a waste of time. Even his daughter Grace noticed the changes in the circle.

She made new friends, and the news about the war is only known to the upper circle. But their movements were still noticed because they need manpower. For families who had resources, they built underground rooms, higher walls, and stocking food. People aren't stupid to notice these so by word of mouth, from employees to families to friends, slowly they followed the lead. Emptying rooms to stock food with longer expiration dates, growing simple plants like tomatoes, eggplants, etc.

Slowly, even on the internet, the rumors spread. Some were skeptical, others believed it, and followed the trend. Allegra City is filled with job opportunities if you're not picky. Ordinary families have low-cost apartments outside the city, but buses and trains are affordable. Buying discounted goods in bulks is normal, adding more won't hurt their pockets.

In the afternoon, Bella is on the plane and reads the news on the internet while on their way to Arti Country. Uncle Liam got the news that some unsold floating houses were available last week, so he bought them all and today was the last delivery.
