Is This Windfall?

VENUS' POV

I woke up with the sound of my roommate 'Kayla' and his boyfriend smothering each other with kisses. I checked the clock on the bedside table, only to see it was already six in the morning.

"Really?!" I jumped out of the bed, blaming everything on the two lovers on the other bed. "Guys, have mercy on me, will you? It's your fault I slept so late."

"Haha, he's about to leave. By the way Liam, this is my best friend Venus. Venus, this is Liam."

I rolled my eyes, not having enough energy for any formality with my roommate's new boyfriend. I huffed, sitting back down on the edge of the bed where I could see the two clearly.

Kayla, my roommate slash friend, was a beautiful blonde. She had a pointy nose, eyes as clear as the blue sky, and skin so fair it seemed unreal. She was kind, but had a terrible habit.

Liam grinned, stretching his hand for a handshake. I only glanced at it, unwilling to touch it. I don't know where they came from or touched!

I sat down on the edge of my bed. He offered his hand for a hand shake. I'm not sure if I should shake his hand back, I don't know what he touched!

I grinned. "Nice to meet you, but no thanks. I will appreciate it if you leave now."

"Okay." he shrugged, offering Kayla a sweet smile. "I gotta go, babe…"

"I will miss you," and the two of them proceed to kiss as if they will not see each other..

'Ugh…' I buried my face in my hands, praying to the deity to extend my patience.

After god knows how long, Liam, this new guy my roommate Kayla brought back to the dorm, flung his legs out of the bed. He was only in his boxers, adding more fuel to my growing irritation at Kayla's bad habits.

Kayla leaned forward to kiss Liam, saying her goodbye.

Once I heard the door shut, I threw the pillow on Kayla's face. "Gross!"

Kayla laughed. "I'm happy, I think you should be too instead of just thinking about studies. Get a life!"

I rolled my eyes at her. As if I could do that. My mom was on the other side of the country, working her ass off just to have enough money to live.

I immediately went to the bathroom to shower, we had a very small shower, enough for one person. What do I expect, this is just a dorm. Two beds, One bathroom.

"V! I have an idea!" Kayla shouted while knocking on the door. "Come, listen!"

"Can't this wait Kay'?" I shouted back, one eye shut to avoid getting shampoo in it.

"But —"

"Wait til' I'm done washing my hair, okay Kay?" I waited for another second to hear her reply, but only silence came.

Good grief. Fortunately, she listened this time.

As soon as I was done and went out of the shower, Kayla was waiting for me right outside with her hands on her waist.

"Okay hear me out." I don't like how she smiled, I know she's up to something.

"WHAT?" I said while putting on my effie lilac floral mini dress.

"Come with us tomorrow, Liam and I reserved a table for dinner tonight."

What was she thinking? Third wheel award goes to me, of course.

"Why would I do that? You wouldn't enjoy it with me. Besides, I don't want to be a third wheel."

Kayla grinned. "You wouldn't. Trust me."

I rolled my eyes, AGAIN at her while wearing my squared toe heeled sandals.

Kayla rolled her eyes back at me. THIS BITCH.

I kissed her on the cheeks and said goodbye. I'll be late if she keeps on talking to me.

Kayla and I have known each other for four years now, she is the daughter of a successful businessman, her mom Ms. Antonette is the most amazing human being, she is very down to earth and you wouldn't feel that she is rich. She is very simple and sweet. On the other hand, Kayla's dad Mr. Greg is very intimidating, but a very caring and witty person.

I'm really blessed that I met Kayla, that she's my roommate. I always believe in WINDFALL or Serendipity for others. What's meant to be will be.

Four hours have passed, everyday is the same.

Same subject, same lesson, only thing that's new is the research and homework we should submit.

At last, the last subject is done. All I did was think about myself laying down in my bed, listening to music that I love until I fall asleep.

I changed into my jogger pants and oversized shirt. I was about to lay down on the bed, but I heard the door opening and I think someone went inside our room. I thought it was Kayla, but when I turned around, it was a guy wearing jeans and black shirt. Who the hell is this?

"WHO ARE YOU?" I shouted.

Who the hell is this? What is he doing here?!

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" I asked while trying to get my phone on the bedside table, thinking that I should call 911.

"Shhhhhh!" He is now walking towards me.

ELIAS' POV

My fucking roommate Liam, just got home.

"Who's the girl bro?"

Man. He won't survive without a girl.

"This is different, she is different." He answered while walking towards his bed, ready to sleep.

"I heard that before, shut up."

Liam laughed. Liam and I have known each other ever since I was a child. His dad is my father's right hand.

I would say that he's my best friend – sometimes, when he's not getting on my nerves.

I left Liam in the room, I know that he'll be sleeping all day.

These annoying securities unfolded when I went outside of the room. They are always around. They never get tired, I AM TIRED of this.

"Will you stop following me?!" They just looked at me.

I decided to take a walk, not minding these two securities – Kenny and Luke who keeps on following me.

My feet took me to the park.

I sat down in one of the park chairs. Finally, no one is around. I think they are all in the class, but thankfully my professor for the class today just announced that he will skip for the day. I just want peace and quiet time.

I was about to read a book while enjoying my peace and quiet time, but the girl I saw across the park chair that I'm sitting on distracted me.

Brunette, wearing a lilac floral dress, listening to her airpods. I wonder what she's listening to? Maybe classical music? No, I think she's not that type of girl. I think she's one of the girls that likes to party a lot?

She looked at me, I knew it. I think she knows me.

I know she knows me. What is she thinking? I guess she's one of the 'love me please girls'.

By the way she looks, yes she is.

I stood up, looked at her and rolled my eyes.

And… She rolled her eyes back?!

What the fuck is she thinking?

I got annoyed by the way she looked at me so I decided to walk around.

Time goes by, research, lessons, bitches that won't stop smiling at me.

Is this the fuck my dad wants? Bitches, living the 'best life', living like a normal person.

I don't like this. I just want PEACE and QUIET time.

These securities won't stop looking at me as well.

I am tired.

I went to the boys' room as I knew they would not follow me here.

This would be a good opportunity for me to get out and leave. I want to be alone.

Oh shit! They saw me!

I tried the first door in this dorm, FUCKING LOCKED.

Tried the second door, yes! UNLOCKED.

I went inside the door but, unfortunately this is the room of the annoying girl I saw earlier in the park.

What the fuck? Of all the doors, this is her room.

And why would she leave her door unlocked?! Was she waiting for someone?

What the hell is she wearing?! Oversized shirt and jogger? Really?

But, she's still beautiful. What the fuck am I thinking.
