Skills' experiments:

Experiment #1: This experiment is carried on the seventh floor. It tests the dungeon's reaction to [Claim].

Results:

The dungeon reacted violently by spawning numerous monsters. They were estimated to be nearly a hundred monsters. Some of the newly tamed individuals fought against them to compensate for the number difference.

The monsters spawned included several purple moth and blue papilio that forced the participants to take antidotes and fight monsters that were being supported by the blue papilio.

A gain that was unaccounted for is the opportunity to capture and tame both purple moth and blue papilio.

The monsters kept spawning until the skill was removed.

There was an observed strain of keeping the skill active against the dungeon's will.

Conclusion:

[Claim] could be used to gather monster materials on a larger scale or in hopes of forcing the dungeon to spawn a rare monster by chance.

There is a possible skill synergy between [Claim] and [Gate Keeper]. By trapping the monsters the dungeon spawns in a confined 'room', an enemy could be led towards it to get overwhelmed by a pass parade.

Experiment #2: This experiment is carried on the seventh floor. It tests [Gjallarhorn Howl] and its results as a weapon against monsters.

Results:

The joints of targeted monsters were cut through as if they were made of clay.

Their general defenses were about three quarters after being subjected to the skill.

The tougher monsters were able to sustain hits despite lowered defenses.

Their resistances against poison from purple moth were halved.

The healing from blue papilio was not affected by the skill.

Later tests with taming by proxy resulted in a success.

Conclusion:

[Gjallarhorn Howl] could be used to weaken a monster that is above the party's level to either let the party escape or be able to defeat the monster.

The skill is also a good way to speed up the taming process without injuring the monster, endangering its life.

Experiment #3: This unexpected experiment was carried on the eleventh floor. It tests [Absolute Hunter] and its effect when the target is let to wander alone. After that, the experiment will include [Gjallarhorn Howl].

Results:

The moment the target tried to escape, Blanc gets a boost that makes it impossible to escape from him. If he chose to let the target escape, another would kill it for sure.

Using knowledge from prior experiments, [Claim] was used to forcefully spawn an infant dragon. After using [Gjallarhorn Howl] and [Absolute Hunter] in synergy, the infant dragon faced the same fate as any other target.

Using [Absolute hunter] alone on an infant dragon produced similar results once it was weakened.

Conclusion:

[Absolute Hunter] has an alternative use in that it can kill a stronger monster once the monster was weakened.

Experiment #4: This experiment was carried on the eleventh floor. It tests the mechanics behind [Responsibility].

Results:

The more family members that are being protected, the stronger the effect. With the entire party included, family members were counted to be twelve excluding individual Welf Crozzo.

With twelve family members being protected, Mont's status was amplified up to approximately three times.

Conclusion:

The amplification [Responsibility] grants is approximately a quarter of Mont's status for each family member being protected.

[Responsibility] would be more beneficial on bigger parties that count as family.

Experiment #5: This experiment was carried on the twelfth floor. It tests the effects of [Pack Member].

Results:

With two members with no clear leader, the skill resulted in nothing more than wasted time.

With two members and a clear leader, the efficiency was more apparent.

With three members and no clear leader, the result was lower than that of two members with a clear leader.

With all seven members and a clear leader, the result was astonishing. No monster could breathe before it was dead.

If the pack has its members separated, there are conditions to keeping the skill in effect. Their separation must be part of the leader's plan or that they could communicate with each other. Even if it was a chain where every two members could only hear each other, it still counts.

Conclusion:

[Pack Member] needs there be a leader and have the members be able to communicate to bring its true potential to light.

Taming experiments:

Experiment #1: This experiment observes the possibility of taming monsters by proxy. The test subject is a floor one kobold. The magic stones used are those of other kobolds from the same floor given by the tamer to the proxy.

Attempt #1:

This attempt tests a kobold's capabilities of being tamed by proxy.

The first attempt failed but it also healed the monster. The skills have an effect by proxy. The condition is to be a magic stone passed through the proxy by the tamer himself.

The attempt failed. Taming was unsuccessful.

Attempt #2:

This attempt tests the same kobold's resistance to being tamed.

The attempt failed. Taming was unsuccessful.

Attempt #3:

This attempt tests the same kobold's resistance to being tamed.

The attempt was a success.

Monsters can be tamed by proxy. The observed downside is a lower taming rate.

The subject of this experiment became 2.1 meters tall. The gender assigned this time was a female.

The individual has a shaggy grey coat. They had amber golden eyes. (AN: An identical shade to Blanc's eyes)

Experiment #2: This experiment is carried after the observed success of the first one. This experiment aims to observe the taming possibilities of kobolds using other monsters' magic stones. The magic stones used are floor one goblins.

Attempt #1:

This attempt tests if the tamer's skills affect individuals using magic stones of other species.

The attempt was a success. The kobold showed signs of being healed.

Attempt #2:

This attempt tests how many magic stones are used to tame the test subject.

The starting amount was 34 magic stones.

The taming succeeded after using 21 magic stones.

This experiment showed an even lower taming rate than when using kobold magic stones.

After the experiment succeeded, the individual was given a kobold's magic stone.

The subject of this experiment became 1.8 meters tall. The gender assigned this time was also female.

The individual has a fawn-colored coat all over. They have purple eyes.

Experiment #3: This experiment is built based on the first experiment. This experiment aims to confirm the effectiveness of Noland's [Gjallarhorn Howl] skill. The test subject is a floor one kobold. The magic stones used are also floor one kobolds.

Attempt #1:

This experiment was not about wearing the test subject down with wounds and blunt trauma. To compensate that, the most superficial cut possible was made.

The taming was unsuccessful as expected. The skills showed effect, as the cut healed.

The attempt proved that [Gjallarhorn Howl] works as a viable option to tame monsters.

Attempt #2:

This attempt tests how many magic stones are used.

The starting amount was 17 magic stones.

The taming succeeded after using 11 magic stones.

The subject of this experiment became 1.78 meters tall. The gender assigned was mysteriously a female as well in this experiment.

The individual was a soft coat that was principally white with a light brown patch the covered the ears and the eyes and another that covered the tail. There is a third patch that took part of the back.

All three subjects have, like the four brothers, a vibrant green crucible with dark green flames roaring from within it engraved on their backs.

A possible cause for all monsters tamed during this experiment to turn out female is the involvement of a tamed monster as a proxy. Further research is required to confirm the viability of this possibility.

Experiment #4: This experiment was conducted to verify a method of letting blue papilio and purple moth consume a magic stone. The two monsters do not have a mouth.

Attempt #1:

In this attempt, the magic stones were presented as is. There was a need to confirm if they could suck mind out of the magic stones. They were not able to, or at least they just did not do it.

The taming did not even start to have a chance at failure.

Attempt #2:

In this attempt, the magic stones were grounded to dust and put in the least amount of water possible. They were made into a liquid that has just a bit more viscosity than water.

The monsters both were observed to be more willing to drink the magic stones as liquid. The cuts that were made on both monsters were mended.

The attempt was a success. Both monsters were tamed after some more liquid magic stones were fed to them. Only then were they given a magic stone liquid that matches their species.

The two blue papilioes transformed into larger variants. Their wingspans became 27cm.

The three purple moths also transformed into a larger variant. They are of the same wingspans as the blue papilioes, at 27cm.

(Line Break)

"So, what I understand from Blanc's report sheet's that you succeeded in confirming a few more things that saved me the trouble of doing them myself. Thanks, my sons" They were all pretty tall. Mont and Blanc were even taller than he is, not to mention Noland. That did not prevent them from hugging him together.

"This's a bliss" Henryk felt a warmth in his chest. He loved it. Being surrounded by people he considered family was something he was starved for after losing his. Them being new to his life did not matter. They regarded him as their father, and he wants to live the illusion and fulfill the role it has for him.

Ray was looking at them on the side. 'When is he going to hug me with an expression like that?' She was getting disappointed since he seems to forget her sometimes.

"Ray, come here. Fey's already hiding in my clothes, you come join the family hug. You girls too. You're part of our family now" He opened his arms wider to welcome Ray and the new additions to his family. As for Fey, she can get crushed by the force of their hug. Nobody told her to hide in his shirt. "I didn't forget you, the five of you. Come join us" Henryk invited the five insectoid monsters into the hug. Their large wingspan covered a good portion of the group.

"HIYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Hestia was on the brink of fainting at the sight of five large insects covering a ball of fur and feathers. She remembered that Henryk is a tamer and whatever new monster that appears here is his.

Hestia stood there, staring at them purposefully. She was tempted to join the hug. She went for it.

Bell came upstairs after changing his clothes and arranging his gear in the basement room. He saw the mass of entangled bodies in front of him. The possibly fluffy feel of all that fur tempted him. He went to join the pile.

(Line Break)

"We shouldn't do that again! I almost passed out from the heat! What with all the fur and feathers around me!" Henryk forbade it. If they wanted hugs, they get individual ones.

"Fey almost died!" Fey said, panting. Her breath was cut, not because of the weight, but because there was almost no big enough gap between the bodies to breathe through.

"Now, without further ado, let's give the new members of our family some lovely names"

"Now that we chose names for all of you, be at your leisure. Just remember to stay within the church. Ouros and Blanc, you remain here. I will discuss something with you two"

The new members of their family went to find spots to stay at for now.

"Ouros, aside from Fey, Ray and Taurus, you are to be the leader of all my tamed monsters, those who see me as their father or not.

Not all of you go to the dungeon together at the same time all the time. Maybe have four-man teams consisting of two kobolds, one papilio and one moth. That will require you to search for more of them.

All we need for now, to complete four teams, are one kobold, one moth and two papilioes. Tame more moths and papilioes, going over that number in healers and poison masters is also good.

Blanc, as the proxy tamer, will be responsible for the accurate numbers.

We will go with everyone in one party for now to gain money and buy land and a house. After which, we will choose the teams"

"Your orders are my commands, father" Ouros left to tell the others of that team arrangement.

"Blanc, your report was well organized. Thank you for that"

"Your words graced my soul, noble father" Blanc bowed to and thanked Henryk.

"Raise your head. Now, your report doesn't need to include any further gender-related experiment"

"What do you mean, noble father?"

"Three of the insectoids are male. That gives evidence that it's just random. It may be in favor of one of the two genders, but that looks like a negligible bit to my eyes"

"Can I still try to draw conclusion on that?"

"Keep it within 14 monsters. We are already taming more than we could manage. So, starting from after we get clothes for the girls, we will pass on a policy. All who have the [Humanization] skill will use it almost all the time. People won't be attacking chienthropes and expecting magic stones in their chests, now, will they? The split of what we tame comes as one kobold, seven moths and eight papilioes"

"I will see to it, noble father. But might I ask, what will you have the ones not participating in dungeon delving do?"

"I will have them produce their powders as fast as they're comfortable with. We will start handing that to a pharmacy to process them into potions and antidotes. That will increase our income. Did that answer satisfy your curiosity?"

"That it did, noble father. Thank you for indulging me" Blanc did another bow before leaving to inform his siblings.

"Always welcome, Blanc" 'I need to keep the numbers of my family members and tamed monsters in check. Too many and we get attacked for no reason. Good thing the kobolds could pose as chienthropes'

Henryk looked at the large congregation of monsters in front of him. 'Yep. We need a new home. Especially since as the walking-spoiler said, some more members will be joining Hestia's familia in the later seasons. My actions might affect who and when, but precisely because of that I need to account for that increase in members'

(Line Break)

End of Chapter.

'1:

The skill takes the average of their stats and brings both Gladia and her target to that point.

'2:

Bones was intended to be an atlas moth, until I decided to search for a moth species that eats bones. Read '2 to understand why.

'3:

The skill was originally called [Exoskeleton].

Exoskeleton:

Your body has developed a hardened exoskeleton made of keratin. This exoskeleton could be made stronger by eating keratin.

I saw an interesting thing while searching on the topic of the horn moth. There was this one case where its larva ate a piece of bone. Based on that, I made the skill into [Exoskeleton of Bones].

'4:

The effect when there is no moon:

x1.5 poison applying chance. x1.5 poison strength.

The effects under the full moon:

x4 poison applying chance. x6 poison strength.

For those wondering, I know that the Atlas and Luna moths do not have a mouth or anything of its likeness to eat/drink with. For the convenience of the story, they are monsters and therefore will have a thing to eat/drink with.

Have a good day, ladies and gentlemen.
