5 It's déjà vu!!!

It has been another month since Keane's beauty was recognized by the system. It took him that long to complete the sub-job -even though he was 8/10- due to the fact that he needed to control the hypnotic power of it. He was actually surprised about the effect of it. Though his looks have allowed him to gain many benefits from others, it wasn't to the point of absolute submission that the 'Charmer' sub-job provided. As it was still a low level job he could only learn techniques which allowed him to manipulate someone with simple commands. Any complicated commands would cause the target to break free of the control due to recognizing the irregularity in their own behavior. To properly learn techniques that would allow more complicated commands, Keane would have to upgrade the technique to Intermediate. To go further, such as changing the persons soul, he would have to upgrade to advance and mastery.

Due to spending a year of training daily to complete the first four sub-jobs and another month to finish the next, Keane spent a week off lazying around in his very large estate. Unlike many others in the Akagi family, it was not often he was forced to undergo the harsh training. This is mostly due to the fact that his parents -as stated before- were very easy going people. They didn't want to force hardcore education onto him and turn him into a cold child as they have seen others of the Akagi's.

These worries ended up being trivial as Keane was already a considerable genius. Well considering he was already in his 20's mentally, even if he wasn't a genius there would be no problem. As the home tutoring he was suppose to do would be a nuisance, he used his new ability to make the tutor simply think he did the work. Since he was also too young to take any responsibility in the family business, Keane was free to do whatever he wanted.

At the start of the break he went around testing what the charming power could do. He didn't do anything sinister as Finna was glaring daggers at him throughout the entire time. Thus he only went about doing what he thought was alright. He figured out that he couldn't cause someone to do something that was simply impossible to do and he couldn't force someone to do something they were completely against as they would try hard to resist. Keane believed that the only way to come over that obstacle would be to increase it to advance or mastery. Also, to avoid any of the butlers and maids he tested on to find out that something was wrong, he simply gave them the command to forget about it.

When he was done, Keane had the sudden idea to test it out on a person who had greater power. There was only one person he could choose and that was Finna, but it didn't work, much to her relief. However, Keane was still confused. He thought it shouldn't be a problem as the power of the 'Charmer' sub-job should effect anyone since he had unlimited mana. He believed that the power of the 'Mage' job mainly relied upon mana. Keane then had Finna give him an explanation, and her response was, "It is true that the power of your magic relies on your mana and to increase your level it mainly falls on your technique. However, it was decided by the system to set seals for you that will unlock every job level to ensure that you learn the proper techniques. If there were no seals than you would see your growth dwindle in the future. People with better technique would easily end up beating you. The seals were also placed for you to follow the path of most mages in other worlds who have had to build up their mana since birth and thus focused a lot on technique. To simplify, as the system was made for you to be the best possible, your mana was limited at the start of your training as it saw it was more necessary for you to learn technique instead of relying on power. While it seems you can sense a lot of mana within your body and control it, most of it you are still unable to tap into. As you can still release a lot of magic, it is obvious you're still very strong, but if you used absolute unlimited mana then you would have at least blown up your house on your first try in magic. Concerning the 'Charmer' job, you won't be able to have the magic power to control beings more powerful than yourself until at least advance level. Still, in this world as you are above most since you can use magic, there should be no problem with controlling them. However, I do hope that unless it's for their own benefit, you would have the morality not to use it on innocent people. It was the reason that I only had you try on animals during training and let this week pass as you needed to test it at least once on a normal person."

Keane nodded at her reasoning, but he was still slightly angry at her for not telling him this. He wanted to beat her and to do that he needed his magic to be powerful. Though he understood that setting a solid foundation was very important, so he knew that what the system decided was the best for him. He also felt that his magic should have been a little stronger and that his mana control was still a little too easy. As for what Finna said about using his 'charmer' ability, he understood that it could be dangerous and didn't feel like becoming corrupt in his own power, so he decided to set a rule for himself when using it and told this to her, "Don't worry! I promise that I will only use my 'charmer' ability with beauty in mind! For that was why I was so set on learning the job in the first place. I can even use it to help someone else which in turn will make them see me in an even more beautiful light!" Keane then did his pose once again thinking he was amazing to the point of even increasing other's beauty.

Finna sighed at the sight but was slightly glad to know that he wouldn't toy with the hearts of man with his power maliciously. When she first got to know him she was confused as to why such a man was allowed to be restored and given even more power. But, after these six years she understood that while his only purpose was attaining beauty -to a dangerous point at that- he still had a very light soul.

Keane then took the later half of the break to decide what sub-job to take next. The reason he hasn't thought that far yet was because he was too focused on the 'Charmer' sub-job. It was also useless to think about it in the first five years as he didn't know what the situation would be when the time came to pick the sub-job. As of right now, he has narrowed down the decision to 'Beginner Barrier', 'Beginner Strength', and 'Beginner Summoning'.

They all seemed good for him as he was a son of the renowned Akagi family. Being in such a situation anything could happen and thus he needed to protect himself. Since his first four sub-jobs were hard to use in public and were more focused on attack he needed something better to defend himself. The 'Charmer' ability wouldn't work either since it was a close range ability and not made for immediate self defense. He had Finna, but she was more specialized in magic herself and not really combat. Thus, she could only provide her body as an immortal shield in public, but that would bring up many questions once she showed up a day later alive. So he could only receive the power to protect himself or summon someone to protect him. He decided to first listen to her explanation about the abilities.

"For the 'Barrier' sub-job, I suppose it is self-explanatory, but it is a unique defensive magic that casts a near-transparent wall that is able to block all magic and physical attacks. As you have unlimited mana, you can make the barrier go on forever. However, as it has been partially sealed, the amount of force your barrier can take at the beginner level will also be limited. For the future levels you can change how the barrier shapes and how large it can expand. When u do reach the final level, your barrier will be indestructible. As for the 'Strength' sub-job, it will mainly be a combination of reinforcing yourself with your mana and how well you can move your body. It can be tricky as the magic you cast on yourself needs to have perfect affinity with your body to master the sub-job. Just like the other sub-jobs in the 'mage' job, your strength will be sealed at the start and unsealed as you go on. This will help you whenever you want to limit your power and also avoid your body breaking down due to too much power. Finally for the 'Summoning' sub-job. With this you will be able to summon anything to serve you. While, you will most likely be unable to summon the being you exactly want until you get to the master level, you will still be able pick a certain type of summon. Depending on the power of the summon, you may be unable to summon another being until you either level up from beginner to intermediate or wait for a certain amount of time. The system limited this in the sense that you would end up summoning too many at a time and forget your own growth. As you end up increasing your job level the amount of waiting time between summons will decrease. Luckily, when you summon a servant, the system allowed the servants to tap bypass the seals and stay manifested through your unlimited mana. So the only downside when summoning a servant is that your mana will decrease and take some time until its to full again. However, as I stated before when leveling up your main job, your mana will be replenished as well as increase. That is why I suggest that you leave the summoning job to last."

After listening to Finna's very lengthy explanation Keane was in deep thought. Initially, he was going to pick the 'Summoning' sub-job, however, listening to her suggestion made him hesitate a little. He decided to ask her another question, "How long would it be till I can summon another servant after just summoning a heroic spirit?"

Finna was slightly shocked about him thinking of summoning a heroic spirit. She didn't think there was a need to in a non-magical world, so she asked, "Why do you want to summon a heroic spirit? Is there a need to?"

Keane then started to laugh, "Hahahaha!!! 'Is there a need to' you say? Well of course there is!!! I am aiming to become the world's number one beauty! It is a given that my servants are also beautiful!" He knew that out of all possible summons, heroic spirits were the most beautiful and talented. If there was anyone more suited to follow the world's future #1 beauty than them, he wouldn't believe it! (a/n: Aside from Finna, but let's ignore that)

She couldn't tell if this was lust or not. Finna knew that he loved beauty above all else, but this was extreme. She sighed again due to his response and gave her answer to his original question, "As heroic spirits take a lot to summon and to maintain, it will be a while till you can recover. Since they can be maintained through your unlimited mana, the latter is not a problem for you. However, the former still is since you're being limited. As the summoning would take the servant from a whole different system, the toll would be large. My estimates for you to regain your whole mana would be at least three years in the beginner level, two years in the intermediate level, and one year in the advance. For any levels beyond that I am unsure."

While Keane was nodding at the logic on the outside, he was furious on the inside. 'WHY!!! I COULD HAVE HAD TON'S OF BEAUTIFUL SERVANTS YET THIS SYSTEM WON'T ALLOW ME THAT!!!'

Finna who was looking at his reaction and knew what he was thinking, smiled and thought, 'Well of course you won't be allowed to do that. After all you are the one that wants to be number one.'

In the end Keane's anger subsided. He was still glad to know that he could summon the heroic servants, but he would have to wait till he finished the rest of the sub-jobs in beginner to get to summoning his first servant. He was feeling a strong sense of déjà vu.
