Chapter Thirty-Six

The night at the Hostess of Fertility carried on with its usual lively atmosphere.

Muichiro observed the interactions around him with his customary stoicism, occasionally glancing up at the stage where the energetic

Anya was entertaining the patrons with her stories and fun-loving personality. He felt a sense of contentment in the midst of the hustle and bustle, even though his own role was typically detached from the festivities.

As Anya concluded her performance and headed off to attend to other tasks, Muichiro found himself momentarily alone at the bar.

It was in this brief lull that he noticed a waitress he hadn't interacted with before. Her presence seemed to emanate an air of mystery, and his attention was inexplicably drawn to her.

'She feels familiar, but I don't know why...' Muichiro didn't know what this feeling was, but seeing as it was getting him nowhere he ignored it.

Suddenly Syr turned to Muichiro and smiled sweetly as she approached him." Hey there, you must be Muichiro-Kun right, I don't think we've officially introduced ourselves, my name is Syr Flova, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Oh and thank you for fixing the roof, hehe If it wasn't for you some of us would have had to work all night on fixing it."

Her name, he learned, was Syr Flova. She introduced herself with a friendly smile, her bright demeanour contrasting with his own reserved expression.

She asked the usual questions—where he was from, how he had been, and what brought him to the pub.

But Muichiro's responses were brief and lacked any semblance of enthusiasm.

Syr seemed taken aback by his curt manner, her cheerful facade faltering slightly. However, she quickly recovered, drawing a parallel between his demeanour and that of Ryu the elf, another waitress at the pub, her friend.

In her experience, she had learned to appreciate the value of such interactions, and Muichiro's coldness didn't deter her.

As their conversation continued, Muichiro couldn't shake the feeling that there was something unique about Syr, something beyond her outward cheerfulness.

But he couldn't quite put his finger on it, and he saw no reason to pry further.

Suddenly Syr noticed multiple strands of hair that were sticking out of Muichiro's head. And one that was at the top of his head...

Muichiro looked like he had just woken up from a nap.

"Fufufu~ Muichiro-Kun your hair is all messed up, here Just stay still for just a second," Syr said as her hands came up to fix his hair.

*SHA-*

"Eh!" Syr was momentarily surprised...Muichiro had completely dodged her hands.

"Hold on Muichiro-Kun I'm just fixing your hair it will only take a second." She said with a cheerful smile, going in a second time.

*SHA! SHA, SHA!!!*

"..."

Syr pouted as he dodged a second time." Moooouuu!!! It will only take...SUPRISE ATTACK!!!"

*SHA! SHA, SHA, SHA! SHA, SHA, SHA! SHA, SHA!!!!*

No matter how many times she tried to fix his hair he kept avoiding her hands.

Meanwhile, Anya was laughing her ass off in her mind, seeing this. She was reminded of the time when she tried to hug Ryu but she never could, but Syr was...

'Kahahahaha, that's it Muichiro show that witch who....*Shudder.*' Suddenly Syr stopped trying to fix Muichiro's hair, her eyes were in slits hiding her eyes as she turned to Anya who gulped and looked away hurriedly.

'Oh crap, did I say my thoughts out loud again?'

*Crash*

"Huh?"

...

Meanwhile, at another corner of the pub, a patron's rowdiness was escalating into a full-blown commotion.

Chloe, one of the waitresses, attempted to diffuse the situation diplomatically, but her efforts were in vain as the man's aggression only grew.

It wasn't long before Chloe was forced to take matters into her own hands, using her impressive strength to physically remove the unruly guest.

Amidst the commotion, Mama Mia remained composed, her eyes fixated on the scene unfolding before her.

The man's anger was now directed at her, and he seemed to take offence at her seemingly nonchalant demeanour.

The onlookers, however, knew better than to underestimate the waitresses' strength, and some even shook their heads in pity for the man.

But what happened next left everyone surprised. The man, fueled by his anger, swung his fist at Syr, his intent clear.

Syr's eyes widened in shock as the blow approached, but before she could react, Muichiro had smoothly stepped in front of her, taking the hit on her behalf.

The force of the impact caused beer to splatter across Muichiro's face, but he remained unfazed.

Syr blinked in astonishment, her heart racing from the unexpected turn of events. Muichiro turned to her with his usual calm expression, his concern evident in his question. "Are you okay?"

Syr nodded, still somewhat stunned by what had just transpired. Muichiro then shifted his gaze to Mama Mia, his voice devoid of any emotion. "Can I kick him out?"

Mama Mia's lips curved into a knowing smile. "Be my guest."

Without hesitation, Muichiro approached the drunk man.

The man laughed mockingly, assuming that someone like Muichiro wouldn't pose a threat.

*Booom!!*

But before he could react, he found himself airborne, sailing through the entrance and crashing into the opposite wall.

The pub fell into silence...followed by a chorus of cheers and applause.

Patrons congratulated Muichiro on his swift actions, and even the waitresses looked impressed.

Mama Mia and Syr exchanged glances, and Syr looked back at Muichiro, but this time there was something different in her look.

.....

As the night continued, Muichiro's thoughts briefly shifted to the events that had just transpired.

His actions were nothing out of the ordinary for him; he had simply acted instinctively. But the moment he stepped outside the pub, he was stopped by Syr.

With a genuine smile, Syr thanked him for stepping in and saving her.

Her gratitude was evident in her expression, and before Muichiro could react, she leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his cheek.

His face remained impassive, but his thoughts were stirred.

"Thank you again, Muichiro please come again." She said with a bright smile before going back inside.

But right before Muichiro could actually leave for good this time, he was stopped again.

Anya ran out to say her farewells to Muichiro with a grin."Well, Mr. Builder, it was great talking to you tonight! Don't forget, our bookstore date is in three days!"

Muichiro nodded in acknowledgement. "I won't forget."

With a playful salute, Anya headed off to assist with the remaining tasks of closing up the pub for the night.

Muichiro lingered for a moment, taking in the atmosphere of the bustling establishment before he made his way out into the quiet streets of Orario.

As he walked back to the Wheat Manor, his thoughts drifted to the upcoming "date" with Anya.

Suddenly Muichiro stopped and sighed, he counted in his head." 3...2...1"

"Muichiro-Kun wait..." May called out running out the entrance of the pub with a bento in hand.

"..."

If Muichiro could show any emotion right now it would probably be one of speechlessness.

As Muichiro was about to depart, a figure dashed out from the entrance of the pub. It was May, the cat-girl cook, holding a neatly packed bento.

Her smile radiated warmth as she handed the bento to him, expressing her gratitude for his labour in repairing the roof and for his presence throughout the day.

"Thank you for everything," she said with a hint of shyness, her appreciation evident in her eyes.

Muichiro accepted the bento with a nod, his usual stoic expression unchanged. He recognized her kindness and the sincerity behind her gesture.

It was a simple act, yet it held a meaningful significance to him.

Whether he knew it or not, he will do in the near future...

May's smile widened, and she waved farewell before retreating back into the pub.

Muichiro observed her with his usual calm demeanour, his mind processing the encounter.

As he finally started his journey back to the Wheat Manor, he clutched the bento in his hand.

The moon hung in the sky, casting a gentle glow over the city of Orario.

And if Muichiro had been paying any attention, he would have noticed that the man he had kicked out, who had lost consciousness completely disappeared.
