Is it wrong to be a wild fox and save(pick up) girls in a dungeon?

In the middle of the desert jungle there was a dilapidated temple.

Even worse for the weather's appearance was the fact that it was covered in corpses and battle scars.

Something strange though was that all the corpses were wearing similar clothes, some kind of strange Shinto cult.

Corpses held or were pierced by Japanese cold weapons, things someone on earth would consider "ninja" and "samurai".

Among the corpses was a stone "statue" pierced by various weapons.

A finely crafted statue of a young-looking Kitsune wearing strange oriental attire that seemed to whisper "edgelord otaku" but wasn't blatant like having oni skulls and metal spikes all over its body, or a fan on its back...

The statue was in a pitiful state kneeling on one knee and leaning on a yari spear.

Something different, however, was that on the face covered by the stone hair there was a trace of a smile, or like an expression of pleasure that a villain would make when saying "it was all part of my plan, muhahahahaha"

In front of him was a Chientrope who seemed to be frozen in time.

That was the man who dealt the final blow to Renard, an adventurer nicknamed "Laelaps" a level 3 who specifically did jobs like "Assassin" and had a rare ability that made him stronger than normal levels 3.

Laelaps had a fearful expression, this is the side of his face that still belonged to him...

The other side had turned into a "fox" face resembling the Renard he had killed.

He suddenly let out a groan as if he was screaming "nooooo!" before his body began to harden and crack like dry soil.

Suddenly a fox-like blue fireball shot out of his body before expanding into a human figure surrounded with a cloud of smoke.

Then the figure fell to the ground.

Possessing and stealing the essence of such a strong adventurer takes its toll.

[Kogitsune-bi] Normal fox fire projectile with a core of ghost fox fire that feeds the hot flame, hot strong, and fast, able to defeat an unprepared level one or two if it hits a vital region. It can be erased, but it digs into the target making it harder to deal with.

Ghost fire is the fire of the Kogitsune's own soul, so it costs a lot in terms of mind, but it can be reabsorbed. It's a will-o-wisp and trying to cast magic while being turned by it will mostly result in an Ignis Fatuus.

I got an old suit from the temple and covered it with armor from the dead that I burned to make it clean and change the color of the metal and leather.

Now I needed to make my way to Orario...
