12 Chapter 12: Daily Life of Swords, Novels and the Royal Court

[Miko's POV]

It's been half a year since I agreed to be trained by my father in our residence.

I might as well recaps what I had learned and what I have done in those days.

A lot of things had happened in the Far East.

However, none of those things were major and are just day-to-day daily routine.

First of all, father taught me how to use swords and other bladed weapons. More specifically, I learned to use katana, wakizashi, tanto, and naginata.

I was taught how to properly swing the blade and apply footwork while doing it. At first, it was very difficult because every time I swing, my tails were in the way. Father also taught me how to my tails accordingly to the movements of the swing, so that the blade doesn't collide with my nine tails.

I practiced very hard in swinging the sword, moving my body and tails, and working on my footwork all in a span of 6 months.

Of course, I didn't just train myself to the core every single day. No no no, remember that I have three conditions that I declared to the face of that annoying Sanjouno leader.

Every time I finished training in the morning, I asked permission from my father that I will go to the shrine. He didn't make any complaints and allowed me to go. So, I made my way to the shrine while wearing a very simple white robe with red highlights and Sakura flower design. I met up with my companions and we did a lot of things like chatting, playing and even training.

I told Takemikazuchi-sama and Tsukuyomi about my mother's death and a giant Grifin monster was the one responsible for me falling from the sky. The two of them has a very solemn and mournful reaction upon hearing about it. They also said that they will take responsibility in taking care of me, even though I still have my father and home.

They said they will also take part on training me and taught me many things in their disposal like the way how they handle the blades and also, the arts of magic seals. However, I was not able to use those seals because my body is not well equipped and might damage my mind.

I asked them what should I do in order to use magic without damaging my body. They said that i should train my body more and I must put a Falna on me, in which I asked what is Falna. They said a Falna is the grace and blessings given by the Gods and Goddesses to their Familia members in order to gain more power and magic capabilities.

I was intrigued by the sound of them giving power and magic to people and I asked them if I can have one myself. However, they unfortunately declined because I am not ready to have one yet. I was saddened to their refusal but they reassured me by saying that they will put one if I train even harder. I nodded at them and I promise that I will train even more than before in order to get a falna.

Anyway, let's put the Falna stuffs aside for now and move on to the other stuffs.

I also have the condition of able to visit Haruhime-san in her living quarters and oh boy~ You won't believe how mad Haruhime's father when I reminded him of the second condition when I arrived at their residence. He was so pissed that he set a bunch of his conditions to counter my mine. I mean seriously, what did I do to deserve this much hate? Tehe~ *knocks head*

Anyhow, the renard leader set the following conditions:

1. I can only visit Haruhime's room, the rest of the facilities of the mansion is prohibited.

2. I have only three hours of stay inside Haruhime's room.

3. No asking for foods, water and any necessities from the members of Sanjouno family.

4. I am banned in bringing any bladed weapons or anything that can cause harm.

5. .....

Blah blah blah, yes, I get it, you hate me so much. Geez, what kind of hothead piece of garbage of a father are you? I only gave three conditions to roam around wherever I want and you're upset about it? Calm down a bit my good sir~ or else you might get a stroke or a heart attack~

Moving on from that, I was instructed by the guards on where Haruhime's room was. Once I got there, I knocked the door and entered the room. Haruhime-san wasn't expecting me to visit her but she was glad that her father "allowed" me to enter her room.

We had a good time together in her room and we done a lot of stuffs like telling our hobbies, likes and dislikes, reading books about old tales of heroes and had some tea that she, herself, asked to the members of the family.

See Sanjouno-san, your third condition is absolutely useless to me, bleh~.

I also share her the novels that I received from Shirou in the past memory. She was confused on what language was written on the book. Ah I forgot, it was written in the Japanese, not Koine.

How do I know this? Easy, I took a look on Shirou's memory via Gohei, the vessel that half of his soul and most of his memories was stored. I memorized the Japanese language in his memories and a bit of Koine language in OG Miko's memories as well. I learned those before coming to Haruhime's home and I read the novels beforehand.

Apparently, there are two novels that Shirou gave me, the names of the novels were Tensura and Mushoku Tensei. I skimmed through the two books and I would say that both were decent stories so far.

I read the stories to Haruhime-san for three hours before I got kicked out of the house because of that bastard's first condition. Tsk, what an irritating nuisance he was, but it doesn't matter because I kept coming back every day to their house and told the stories to Haruhime. She seems to enjoyed the plot of the novels I read to her.

So, I decided to get more novels from Shirou's memories in the Gohei. I went to the Shrine and requested to do another ritual where I can dive inside my mindscape and go to the memories of Shirou.

I "borrowed' some more of the novels in his room in the memories and I had stumbled on one novel in particular. The novel is called "Danmachi". I took a look in it and was shocked from my discovery.

From what I read the novel, all of my companions and friends were characters of the story. I tried to search for my family name in the story and apparently that Yae Miko doesn't exist in this book.

Which got me thinking on why I, Yae Miko, suddenly exists in the world I was living on?

Who put me in this world as a part of the cast of the story?

And why would that person put me in this world? What is his/her objective? What does will he/she achieved in doing such a thing?

Are there more people like me who got sent here? If so, where are they?

I pondered a little more questions in my head before moving it aside for now and gathered all the novels that I can acquire in order to read with Haruhime-san.

A/N: Just a heads-up on the contents below.

I don't have information that I can get in the internet regarding about on how the Royal Court looks like, how the families of the Royal court looks like and lastly, I don't know if Amaterasu is a he or a she in Danmachi and how he/she looks like. That being said, I will interpret these three things in my own way and please accept it as you read it.

A year and a half had passed and I continued my daily life of training the arts of the blade, meeting with my companions in the shrine and reading novels with Haruhime-san. Then I remembered about the last condition I had and it is visiting the city of the Royal Court.

I asked Father if I can visit the Royal Court and see what it is look like in there, he said he will accompany me and I must wear proper and formal clothes. I nodded in understanding and followed his instruction.

He gave me a white robe with red highlights and Sakura-shaped design, as well as a long red blouse. I also received a Sakura patterned overcoat and golden accessories with purple highlights. The accessories include a pair of fan-shaped earrings with purple gem embedded in it, a gold circular antler hairpiece and a gold chest ornament with purple flower in the center.

Father said that these accessories belong to my mother and he wants me to keep it. I was happy that I am wearing something that my mother used to wear and able to keep it to myself. I truly am blessed in this family.

After getting dressed up, I readied myself to go to the city. Father is also dressed for the occasion as well.

We both walk together towards the city that was 15 minutes walks away from the residence.

When we arrived at the city, my eyes sparkled in wonder. The entirety city looks marvelous and huge. There a lot of multi-level building scattered around the city. A lot of people wearing elegant clothing and expensive looking accessories scattered throughout the streets.

And there, a huge, multi-level castle with golden rooves, red walls and green pillars and support beams that is towering in the middle of the city. I asked Father who lived a castle that huge and grand. He said that the God Amaterasu lives in that castle and he was the main God that created the Royal Court city.

He and along with other gods, formed the Royal Court in order to govern and control the continent of the Far East. He is supreme ruler of this place and he is on the top of Gods that decides, organize, judge and protect everything within the continent.

I was surprised that there is a god that is superior than the other gods in this place. I wonder what does he looks like and what kind of personality that he was. I asked father about it but he can only shake his head and said that he never once saw Amaterasu-sama in person before, which fuels my curiosity even more.

But suddenly the gates of the castle open grandly and armored knights came out of the gates. The people of the city noticed it and they all crowded to take a look. Me and father were pushed back by crowd and we couldn't see the front.

Being upset about this, I decided to sneak through the front. Father tried to warn me but I already slip through gaps within the crowd. I tried my hardest to squeeze myself through the towering people. Some of them became quite annoyed and some were confused when I bump on their legs.

When I almost to the front, I can see the figure a bit better. The god has red spikey long hair and red eyes with drooping markings under his eyes. He wore a loose red robe and pants. He has golden shoulder pads, a gold angry face crest on his chest and golden crown with a protruding horn design.

He has a fierce and stoic expression that emanates an aura of a supreme leader. He has tall and muscular built that looks menacing to look at.

He then walks a step and he is opening his mouth, about to speak something to the crowd.

"WELCOME EVERYONE! TO MY GLORIOUS AND MAGNIFICENT CITY!"

The god roared at the crowd, his loud voice echoes throughout the city. I was startled by the sudden loud greetings of the god.

"Tomorrow, I will hold a grand party inside my magnificent castle. The people included in the front tables are my fellow gods and executive members. They will bring one member of their family, along with an offering me, Amaterasu. The member who wears their most beautiful or the most handsome attire in the party will be rewarded a surprise gift to the family."

The people murmured and chatting about the upcoming party that the god Amaterasu will going to happen. I also listened to the announcement, but suddenly something touching my tails.

'What the heck? A molester? In the middle of a crowd? How bold! Let me show you'

*Stomp*

"Yowch"

The molester wright in pain and I snickered at his reaction. The molester got angry and kicked me. The kick launched me to the front of the crowd.

"That would all, my dear citizen. Don't forget to come in mid-"

"Oof"

I landed in between the god and the crowd, my father found me and he looks at the scene embarrassed.

I tried to get up on my feet and patted at my clothes. I looked around and it seems to be I am the center of the attention. Everyone is looking at me like I am some rare exotic creature that decided to show up in the world. The god also looks at me, quite interested at my peculiar nine tails at my back.

When I realized that I was being stared at, I bow in apology and retreated from the scene.

Amaterasu is quite amused at my small yet extraordinary appearance. He shall remember this scene in his life. He then continued saying his announcement and finishes it, telling the crowd to disperse.

[Third POV]

Little do Miko know that the molester that groped her was a peculiar and shrewd little figure. He enjoyed the touch of her tails and decided to plan something in tomorrow's event.

The small figure looks at the pink haired renard one last time and licks his mouth in a perverted way, thinking of all the molesting he can do with that girl. He had the thought of grooming her to be servile to his whim.

'Soon, you will be mine, kukuku'

The small figure disappeared from the streets, no one notices a thing about that man and just vanished to the crowd of people walking.
