"Chang'er! Chang'er"

She looked up dazedly at the man who was calling her. He was a middle aged man who was about 50 years old with sharp eyes looking at Jiang Chang with a piercing gaze that almost looked worried. It was her father, Jiang Dong who happened to owned a company and was trying to discuss some business with his daughter and her fiancee.

"Huh?"

Jiang Chang looked confused, clearly not paying attention to the conversation they were having at this dinner table in this fancy restaurant.

"So do you agree?"

Two pairs of stern eyes were looking at her impatiently.

"About what?"

Her reply was nonchalant, still not fully focusing. She truly did not care. It felt as if even though they were asking Jiang Chang of her opinion they still would decide on their own. It has always been this way. Ever since she was young. She would just agree anyway so what's the point.

"I was thinking about transferring your shares to Lin Fu since you two are getting married. It was bound to happen sooner or later, I know you don't want to succeed the company so I thought it would be better if we get this done as quickly as possible."

In fact, Jiang Chang always wanted to be the heir to Jiang Corp. and manage their family business but she just silently nodded.

If you agree-agree, if you don't agree-agree. That was the mentality she grew up with.There was a point in her life when Jiang Chang would express her true opinions but all that seemed to was frustrate her father. After countless attempts she gave up because she knew he was all alone in this world with no one except her to rely on and the same goes for her. She never knew her mother and her father never remarried.

Jiang Dong was an impatient man. Everyday he was more and more stressed out. He wasn't just a simple business man now, he owned a company, which came with so many more responsibilities. Jiang Chang didn't want to tire him even more when he came home from a long day and upset him, so she developed a habit of fulfilling his demands from behaving the way he wanted, attending an elite school to even accepting a proposal from a man she didn't love. All she ever wanted was Jiang Dong to be satisfied.

"Good! Good! You know Mr.Jiang, I will definitely take good care of Chang'er, we are in love and for sure will have a prosperous life after our marriage."

He

flashed a charismatic smile as he loving put his arm around Jiang Chang's shoulder.

Lin Fu was a tall and handsome man with dark hair and eyes. His body was well built and you could clearly see he took care of himself. The way he dressed and the way he behaved was all very prim and proper. Every word he said was polite and respectful. He even graduated overseas from business school- the perfect bachelor. Jiang Dong thought his daughter was so lucky having a man like him love her.
