25 Glad

A few minutes before Sera entered the meeting room. The room was filled with people and that was too unlikely in the last year as people didn't feel the need to attend when the real CEO was. On vacation. What made them come today was that they were threatened to be fired from the company and they knew that it was possible to happen so they had to show up. What they didn't expect was to see the nameless CEO today.

Sera entered the room and was met with surprised faces. Everyone was shocked to see her as she had been on vacation for a year. Even before that she was never someone who attended meetings. She usually left it to the current interim chief.

Everyone stood up to greet her as they wanted to make a good impression on her. Even the new recruits were trying to get on her good side.

Sera was happy to see Ruby and Alex after so long. She could feel them saying that they will kill her after the meeting for what she made them go through. She felt quite happy but she knew she had to concentrate on the meeting at hand.

She adjusted her posture on the chair and everyone sat after. She looked around the room and started to see who the traitor will be. She always had a knack for sniffing out spies and that was one of the things that made her rise too quickly.

She thought to herself " this company needs some decent cleaning up"

She finally broke the silence by saying

" well, As you know I came here to discuss a certain artist in the entertainment industry. She is someone I am quite fond of and she had contributed a lot to this company. I am talking about Sera the Canary"

Everyone was surprised. Why would she want that singer?

Some of them decided among themselves to nullify her contract when she returns to the company. They believed that she was a danger to the company because of the rumors. Not only her ex sister's family is after her but her sister's fiance. They all thought that she wasn't worth all that trouble.

Sera knew what everyone was thinking of and she drew a sly smile on her face.

" Everyone here should know that I am not going to stop my support. She will still be our company's representative. We should also help her in her upcoming works. Is that understood" Sera was talking in a voice that would bring shivers to iron hearts? No one who previously worked with her dared to oppose her but the new ones were still cocky. One of them stood up and started shouting.

" Why should we stick to an artist who lost all her influence? She is now someone who will hold us back and attract enemies that we are in no need of having."

Sera laughed sarcastically making the room feel like a graveyard. She leaned back on the chair and said three words.

" you are fired."

The room was split into three reactions. The first was shock and the majority who felt that were the newcomers. The second reaction was a relief but only two felt that and they were her best friends. The rest were expecting this to happen. They had worked with her for a long time that they knew from the moment that person opened his mouth he was out. No matter how harsh it was she had their utmost respect. The man couldn't believe what he heard. For someone who graduated from a prestigious university and then get fired when he didn't continue a year. He was in a daze but Sera woke him from it.

" Why are you still here? Do I need to call security?"

" hey, I was just stating my opinion you don't have to get too offended by it. I am truly sorry. " the man tried to brush things off but it was too late for him and at this point, everyone in the room knew that.

" I think I am not clear enough for you but as a good boss I will tell you where you had gone wrong and you should be grateful. First, you stood up and started acting high and mighty as if you owned the place but you must remember that you are just one of the millions. Everyone in this room is a genius and smarter than you but no one did as you had done. Second, you didn't state your opinion you forced it not only that but you falsified everything I said and as the CEO of this company I cannot tolerate this behavior so again get out"

He wanted to say anything but words couldn't come out from his mouth. He left the room leaving a silence that was broken by Ruby.

" getting back to the real topic. I don't think anyone has any other problem with your idea. Let's get on with the next one"

" I want my return to be secret. I don't want anyone knowing that the CEO returned from her vacation" Sera directed her order to everyone in the room but Alex was surprised by what she said.

" But why? "He asked her with a curious face

" I am going to start a new project and after I truly finish it I will announce who I am in public."

Everyone was astounded by what she said even her friends. They couldn't utter a word. Only one person asked if they could know the details of the project but Sera rejected him

" I need about a year to finish it perfectly. I can't disclose any details yet. But all I can tell you is that Sera will play a vital role in it. This project will rock the whole world. Meeting dismissed

Everyone started leaving the room in awe of what they just heard. They were optimistic and started getting more curious on how can a singer be that important to their CEO. The only ones who remained in the room were Alex, Ruby and Sera.

Sera knew that she will experience nagging for an eternity by her friends but she was still glad to see them.
