8 Newfound Strength

As I and Rin barely make it in time. During our break after class Miyuki gave me a piece of her mind. As soon as I explained to her by making something up she excused me for being late. Everything after that was a blur as soon as class ended Miyuki and I were in the student council room.

"I think that should be it since school just started and today basically is the first time you here nothing too big is happening." Miyuki states.

After a couple of minutes of me and her moving stuff around to set up the room, it seemed everything was fine. The window to my right and the table in the center with shelves on the walls. "The room was quite well kept but I guess that's what you expect from the student council." I think to myself.

"It is indeed quite neat and clean." Erika chimes in. This throws me off and makes me jump which immediately makes Miyuki across the room look in my direction as she opens her mouth to speak.

"Are you ok?" Miyuki says with concern clearly as she was surprised by my sudden jolt.

"Yeah...im fine." I say quite quickly.

"Please try not to suddenly chime in." I think to myself in hopes that Erika would be able to understand.

"My bad, sorry about that she replies it was just-." she immediately cuts herself in mid-sentence as she begins to speak again.

"Yuri, I have a feeling we're in a phenomenon right now. I felt a sudden change in our area." she states.

"Wait what do you mean." As I turn my head I notice Miyuki is no longer standing there.

"Hey, Erika I think your right Miyuki is no longer here and if what you said about it being a separate thing and not following the basic rules of time I'm confident your hunch is correct," I say back to Erika who clearly seems surprised.

"I guess what she said about it happening almost at random really isn't a good thing maybe this is how countless people get stuck during a phenomenon." I think to myself.

"I can't worry about that right now tho if I and Erika are truly in a phenomenon we're bound to run into someone the only thing is if it were to turn into a fight I'm basically defenseless." I think in my head.

"Erika this may only be my second time in a phenomenon but I believe we should at least exit school while yes hiding might be a good option we should probably also familiarize ourselves to it so incidents like these don't occur," I state to Erika.

"You have a good point we probably should if we want to even remotely achieve my goal it may be our first step." She replies back.

As I proceed to run out if the student council room and to the stairs. As the sounds of my running steps fill the empty halls or so I thought as the moment I finish walking down the stairs I'm instantly greeted with a person standing before me. In front, if I stood a young man with a long white coat and plain attire.

"You're a student here aren't you." The person standing in front of me states.

"Out of everything he's asking if I'm a student....hmmm I won't respond I don't think I need him knowing who I am." I think to myself.

The figure begins to speak once again

"So are you or not?"

I continue to remain silent as a way of precaution and just stare at him hoping he would just leave.

"This has turned into a bad event." I think to myself.

"Something about him reminds me of something..." Erika states from the back of my head.

"WHOS THERE?" the young man immediately says when Erika finishes talking, going as far as to pull a gun out of his pocket and point to me.

"Was it you?" The man says.

"He seems dead serious this time almost ready to just pull the trigger. The current situation just got a hell lot worse but he was able to hear Erika while people like Miyuki couldn't that's quite interesting..." I think before finally answering him with a quick

"No."

He clearly seems suspicious of me before long he starts to speak once again.

"I apologize in advance but I can't take any chances so your life ends now."

"Huh wait he's dead serious he wants to kill me but why I haven't done anything. Well, that doesn't seem to matter even so to be saved from death just be killed again no I won't let that happen all do what it takes to survive." I think to myself as he pulls both hands on to the gun holding it and readying to shot.

"I promised Erika that I would help her, her goal, and to help find my purpose I can't die. Not until I find that reason. Yeah, I won't."

"If that resolve of yours is truly genuine then extend your hand and grasp that resolve and use it as your strength." Erika states.

As the man hits the trigger the bullet is reflected.

"What the hell!". The man shouts immediately reloading and continues to shot. I stretch my hand out.

"It's useless. This is the strength of my power.

restrictions released! virtualizer linked! as I take a deep breath... FROZEN REQUIEM!" As a cold burst of air fills the school along with side spikes of ice coming from where I am standing.

"Frozen requiem....how odd to think you would be able to use my own requiem but not a unique one to yourself..." Erika whispers in a low tone.

"Did you say something? Erika." I say to Erika.

"No no no no not at all but as you can probably tell you certainly aren't ordinary. That power you just used is called a Requiem as you just said it's a power unique to one same as that weapon you currently wield in your hand they are different depending on it's the user. however, in your case, you seem to have kinda taken my Requiem known as Frozen Requiem. You truly are a bizarre case." she states.

"Now that she mentions it I am holding a weapon a black sword almost like a night sky with a blue crystal near its handle. Quite a nice looking sword at that but Frozen Requiem...so this is what my resolve became...." I say as these thoughts fill my head.

"That man seems to just be unconscious from that blast of power you suddenly did so don't worry but never the less we should get going something like this is bound to get others' attention," Erika says with a confident voice.

"I agree," I reply back.

As I continue walking down the hall towards the school gate.
