7 New Start

Shortly after I made that promise to Erika, the thing she called the phenomenon ended and the rest of the night happened as always. I fell asleep getting ready for the next day.

"Hey, Yuri you might wanna wake up its almost time for school," Erika says from the back of my head with a soft but demanding tone.

"Yeah got it..." I say with a tried voice as it felt like I slept close to nothing. I proceed to get up from bed grabbing my bedsheets to make my bed and entering the bathroom and closing the door behind me. I turn my head up to face the mirror in front of me as my hair has turned from a dark black to light almost icy sky blue type of color or even baby blue.

"Wait...how," I think to myself as I am taken aback after this strange change. I begin to speak as to call Erika.

"Umm hey, Erika mind explaining why my hair is like a baby sky blue." I state waiting for her response hoping that she would at least be able to have a good answer.

"Oh, that just seems to be a side effect if our life link but I wouldn't worry. If its an inconvenience I can just mask its color with my abilities." Erika states to me with confidence as a sigh of relief fills my body.

"I'm pretty sure Miyuki would have been concerned for my well being more than she already is if my hair was a different color. I don't have to worry about that so it's fine. Tho with everything that's happened up to this point me barely living, being vice and even going as far as to help Erika in small goal to reach her overall greater one. Makes me wonder how and why I got in this situation, me a normal student with no real passions or ambitions even friends yet I exceed in almost everything Math, English, and Science almost all courses with little to no effort. Really makes me wonder what sort of a miracle is it that I have made it this far with only her help..." Before I continue thinking Erika interrupts me.

"Are you ok, you seem almost blank completely lost in thought," Erika says in her soft tone except for this time almost as if she's worried.

I respond back "Yeah everything fine I'm going to take a shower if you don't mind leaving for now..to the back of my head of course."

she didn't respond until I heard her voice again "Wait you figured that out?" she questions me

"If you're talking about the fact that I realized you go to the back of my head or more accurately my thoughts and mind when your not around then yes." I reply back to her question.

"Well don't worry I was planning on doing that but the fact that you figured something like this in such sort span is impressive almost as if you have talent." What she last days before leaving for now while I undress and enter into the shower. While I close the curtains and move my hand towards the shower handles and I begin to turn it. As the cold water falls down on my face and dripping from my body as I begin to wash my self. Then a thought fills my head

"The Phenomenon that Erika talked about its irregular nature. it's equivalent to a computer bug to be precise. An unwanted side effect. Except it not only stops the space and normal time to an extent but can also pull in random victims. It doesn't matter who and again if this is true and based on last night's occurrence and that night I almost died because of that factor. Im positive I can't be the only one who got pulled in and almost died or even may have had there life ended that moment. Whatever it is it would also explain all the missing person reports that are always on the news and why Erika wishing it to end, but then where am I in all this?" I think to myself as finishing up and exiting the shower.

As I dry myself and dress and brush my teeth Erika chimes in.

"You might wanna hurry up your gonna be late," she says

"Wait how do you know..." As I look at the bathroom clock as she's completely right I have 10 minutes to reach school. I finish dressing as quickly as I can not eating and just leaving and locking the door as I begin rushing to school. My steps at halted as I reach the stoplight.

"I remember this is where I met that girl Rin and sure enough there she is there wait...shes waving eh?" I think to myself as she catches up to me in no time and proceeds to speak

"Morning Yuri" Rin says with her sweet friendly voice as she's smiling.

"Morning," I say back.

"Wait I'm not supposed to be talking I have to make it to school on time before Miyuki tells me anything." I think to myself as the thought of reaction hits me again. I open my mouth to speak to Rin. " Nice talking but I have to make it to school or else I'm a be late and I will never see the end of that if I do." As I finish speaking that face of horrified realization hits Rin's face almost as if her whole cheerful world was just crushed.

"Eh? your joking right?" she says with a chuckle almost as if she wants to believe that I'm lying.

Then she suddenly starts running towards the school as I do the same.

"I'm so close....wait who's that standing there in front of the gate...Fuck I forgot the president is always early and probably wishing due to my nature of not doing anything." I think while sprinting until I and Rin make it to the gate to be greeted by Miyuki.
