there immediately a kid by the name Hibiki started running home at full speed he leaves the school and sees a huge city and he continued to run full speed towards his home he runs inside and closes the door hoping to see his mother the kid ran to the kitchen only to find a letter that said, sorry but I have extra work today there is food in the pantry ps your dead father was fisherman

Hibiki: why does she always repeat that to me

Hibiki opened the pantry only to see rats eating his food Hibiki closed the pantry and left the house there wasn't much that a 12-year-old kid could do other than watching other people do cool stuff so that's what he did every day so he sat at the top of the wall of the park only see a couple of kids holding a scroll he immediately ran there and asked where did they get it

Akane: I saw it on my old brother's table and stole it

Hibiki: wow can I see it

Akane: you can try to read it but none of us can

Akane gave Hibiki the scroll and read it then he followed its instructions and suddenly a small ball of fire fell on top of a tree and that set the park on fire all the kids ran away including Hibiki but he was caught by the guards luckily the fire was stopped before anyone got hurt so he didn't get a severe punishment, later that day he went deep in the forest to try and test the new magic ability he used it again only this time he realized his body got colder each time he used it, he walked to the library and searched for a book about magic but he only found books about sword fighting he decided that if he was to ever be a strong warrior and graduate champion school he had to train more than anyone else so he took a book about blocking attacks and went back to the forest and he copied the moves one by one then he asked one of his friends to try and hit him with wooden swords

Niko: I am going to beat you!

Hibiki: I would like to see you try

Niko ran head first at Hibiki so he dodged her than he hit her in the back of his sword Niko looked at him surprised as he was the worst in her class

Niko: you got better!

Hibiki: you don't have to point the obvious

Niko jumped above Hibiki to try and attack him from above yet again he blocked her with ease only to land a hit on her neck

Hibiki: two to zero

Niko: shut up you only got lucky

she ran again towards Hibiki this time she went under him grabbed him by one leg and threw him at a tree Hibiki was able to land on the tree only to fall face flat

Niko: haha what was that dumbass

Hibiki blushed because he always had a crush on her

both of them climbed up a tree and started talking after an hour of bonding Niko had to go home so she did but Hibiki decided to stay and train he decided to do a hundred pull-ups and at the twelfth pull-up he saw a middle-sized fire bear run at him so he jumped up a tree and was scared shitless, the fire bear lit the tree on fire so Hibiki jumped off in a rash decision he tried to stab the bear with a knife he only took the bears eye the bear hit Hibiki in stomach throwing him ten meters away than he charged Hibiki but Hibiki jumped over him and landed a hit on his throat both the bear and Hibiki ran away from each other Hibiki ran to the hospital where they tended to his wounds two days later they let him out news reached the city about how a 12-year-old fought a fire bear and everyone thought he was a hero after school he went to the library he took another book while on his way to the forest he saw Niko sitting in the park she started to run at him he spread his arms expecting a hug but she slapped him

Niko: you dumbass you could've died

Niko started crying and hugged Hibiki

Hibiki: I'm sorry I scared you

Niko: don't do it again

Hibiki tried to calm her down

Hibiki: how about we go train

Niko shook her head in agreement
