The Trip to the South-East

Luther and Thomas are in their bedrooms packing cloths, weapons into their bags, the room has two queen size beds and a table them the side of each of the bed. "You know, we would have to give our sister up to from an alliance, if only we had an army of people like us" Luther said mumbling, "Well if you want to have control over people with the same gifts as us why don't you do what every other male heir is doing, get married and have children" Thomas said as he shot Luther a mischievous smile. Luther gave Thomas a death stare after what Thomas sad for a while. "You know I always forget that the library is like your second home, tell me brother, you really haven't come across a man named Alaric or how the world almost ended or anything like that" Luther asked, "No I haven't, those books-" Thomas was saying, he stopped talking when he saw a bird perch on the window in their room, he immediately started packing his bags as fast as he could and he was done he strap on his bag and began to walk towards the door without saying a word "Thomas, Thomas!" Luther said as Thomas left the room, Luther sighed as he stood up and took a look at the bird on the window, the bird was a white owl and when Luther got closer to it the owl flew away, Luther stuck his head out of the window to look for the owl, he eyes searched through the busy crowd below the him and finally he saw the owl, it was in the hands of a young woman, she had a long gown and was wearing a fur coat, she was stroking the owl and then there came Thomas running up to her with a big smile and she smiled at him back, they seemed to be having a conversation while standing in the same spot and after a short while they began to walk. The young woman's name was Sharon and she was the daughter of Thelon who was the book keeper of the library in Iron Rock. The white owl in her hand was her pet and she named it Lora, it was a female owl.

"I heard that you are leaving for Baron Fall, you know the king doesn't much like your family." Sharon said, "It's also nice to see you too Sharon, how was your day" Thomas said with a sarcastic voice, "I heard about the slider mole, I can't even believe a monster attacked a region, the extra men you carried won't stop talking about it, they never stop talking about it, but this time they said it was quite difficult for you guys to kill it this time" Sharon said. "It true, Luther gave that thing three blows with his sword and it was still moving, I had to cut down like two trees to fall on its head, you to slow it down a little bit, we actually wanted behead it but we were only able to crack its head" Thomas said. "Does that have anything to do with the reason why you and your family going to the South-east to marry off your sister to the prince of Baron Fall?" Sharon asked, "No, and how do you know about that, I haven't spoken with since I got back" Thomas asked with a confused look on his face. "You are not the only person I talk too, remember my father is book keeper, I know it is not a high rank but it still has its advantages, for example, my father knows every person in the North because we are the one who keep the records of everything and he happens to know everything because he has read every book in there and how I got to know about you going to the South-east and your sister's marriage is because today Sir Eric came by to borrow a map and some books about Baron Fall, he also wanted to know about the marriage custom and tradition of Baron Fall and he mentioned Florence's name, and, what else again, ah yes, he also wanted to know how secure Baron Fall, how large their army was and a key to a portal." Sharon said. "Well that's, I don't even know what to say" Thomas said and that seemed to make Sharon laugh. "I can't believe the portal is real, a way for normal humans like me to explore other kingdoms without having to face monster, I really wish I could come with you" Sharon said. "I wish you could come too" Thomas said and those made Sharon blush a little. They continued walking until Thomas stop moving and began to look down, Sharon noticed this and asked "Thomas, what's wrong?", "Sharon, has your ever told father or have you ever heard him talk about a man named Alaric who almost ended the world and how he locked himself some kind of prison in the castle of Baron Fall?" Thomas asked. "No, no I have never, I don't even understand what you are talking about, come, let us go to the library and talk about it" Sharon said with a very confused look on her face. "No, no need, it is even time for me to get going, I'll see you later I guess then, Goodbye" Thomas said as he waved her goodbye. "Bring me a little, no lot of things from the South-east when you come back" Sharon said as she waved back.

The Marian family, except for Thomas, was gathered together in the deserted part of castle standing in front of a wall with their luggage and the children had the dean wolves next to them including Thomas' dean wolf, Herne. Richard and Eric were a reading a map and Eric was carrying a box in his hands, after a while Thomas came running to where they and stood near his brother, Luther. "Done with your little romance already" Luther said with mischief written all over his face. "It seems I have to use a chisel and a hammer to engrave it into that skull of yours that Sharon and I are close friends" Thomas said. "Alright everyone, we are ready to open the portal, I will give you some time to make sure you all have everything you need for the journey" Sir Eric said, folding the map. "Matilda told me everything you know, Florence, you know that your father can cancel this so called alliance if you don't wish to marry now" Eleanor said. "Mother I have already made my decision" Florence said. Eleanor was about to say something when she was interrupted when Eric said "Alright everyone, it is time to open this portal, your father will go in first to make the portal takes us exactly to where we want to go and then when he is sure, the rest of you will follow. Okay your Majesty, you may begin" Eric said as he turns over to Richard opening the box in his hand. Inside the box was a necklace, it was a black rope with an octal shaped ruby in the middle. As soon as every saw it, they were completely confused. "Is that the portal?" Oliver asked. Richard took the necklace, shut his eyes and squeezed the ruby it tightly with his hand while facing the wall. After a short time the glimmer of light started coming out from the wall. The whole family gasped when they saw this. The glimmer of light began to spread until it became as big as Richard himself, Richard opened his eyes and after seeing the size of the light on the wall, he handed the necklace to Eric and went into the portal. Everyone amazed by this and after a while, Richard came out of the portal. "You may all come now" Richard said as he beckoned them to come into the portal. Luther and his dean wolf, Thunder, were the first to go in and then the rest of the family went in one by one before Eric and Richard. As Richard come out to the other side of the portal, he faced the portal, spread his hands towards it, kept his palm wide open and then closed them. Immediately he did this, the light of the portal disappeared

In front of the Marian family was the huge door of a big rocky castle, when they looked up to the sky they say the sun brightly shinning and they also saw in the sky, what looked like a cage above them. "So this is the cage like thing that protects them" Edith said point to the sky. "Yes my dear and just so you know we are in front of the Baron Fall castle" Eric said. "Now everyone remember, we are here for an alliance, if things go wrong, the triplets will follow me, Eleanor you remain in Baron Fall as a spy, I have already given you the tool you will be using to communicate with me, Eric you use the portal to take Oliver back to Iron Ground and Edith, you follow Flame." Richard said and everyone except from Eric didn't give him any responds because they were still confuse about everything that was going on. Richard took a step forward and knocked on the huge door three times. Immediately the sound of what seemed to an army marching towards them was heard. After a while the marching noise stop and the doors began to open. Richard took a step back as the doors began to open. In front of them were men wearing Sliver armor in a line, and in a twinkle of an eye the line of men split into two. In the middle of the two lines, a man who was wearing a luxurious golden crown with Ruby gems on it came walking out. He was wearing a long golden color robe and he had brown hair and brown eyes. This man was King William. "King Richard the third, welcome to my humble home. You know I wasn't expecting you to be here this soon because you sent a letter to me only yesterday but still I am happy you and your family are here, please come in" William said as he beckoned them into in castle's doors. "Nice seeing you William" Richard said as he and his family start going inside the castle.
