25 Chapter 25

They finally arrived in Euntaras.

When Princess Iris inhale the air, she felt immediately ill. She can sense poison all around her. "I should not use the absorption. This is too many. I cannot handle it." They entered the inn. She didn't feel well.

"Greeting Your Highness. Uhuk… uhuk… How can I help?" The innkeeper looked incredibly unhealthy. His wife also looked very weak when they greeted. Sir Thomas then took care of the whole inn arrangement. Rosetta took care of Iris and let her take bath and rest right away. Rosetta can sense that Iris was very unwell.

Doctor June sensed something very wrong. She decided to look around. She found out many children and elderly were dying. She then asked to talk with the young boy.

"What happened here?"

"Two weeks ago, I saw a person talked to the elder. They had the black magic cape. After that day many were fallen sick especially children and elder."

"Then how can you be so healthy?"

Felix, the boy explained that he suspected it was the water springs which also form a small stream for the city. Most of the townsfolk relied on that springs. However, he didn't drink from the water springs or the stream, because he used the old well near his house. He knew it was poisoned. He tried to make his townsfolk aware of the situation but none believe. The water was still fresh and clean. Not until they feel the impact. Now the townsfolk rely on him to keep the town. The disease didn't improve when they change the water and now the well started to dry up too. Doctor June then asked how he knew it was magic cape and how he knew there was a magic cape also in the carriage.

"I can sense mana. From relatively far range."

"It helps your aim too?"

"Yes. I also suspicious about the mana activated after I release the second arrow. It was great and very bright. I know it was not the same person with the one who talked to the elder."

"Mana? I don't remember any of us use any magic then. Anyway, speaking of your Elder, how was he?"

"He was unconscious since that night."

Doctor June then talked to Marquis Judah and Duke Iowyrthe. She explained the situation and asked permission to check. She suggested to ask someone from Soirvan to help.

"Felix, can you take me to the Euntaras tree? I will have to use some of the leaves."

"That's the problem."

When they arrive in the centre of the Valley, they saw a huge dying tree in the middle.

"You mean…" Doctor June gasped.

"Since that day, the tree was dying. The leaves were rotten and falling. Until no leaves left. I have tried to make essence but…"

"You still have left?"

"I have the dried leaves. What you want to do with them?"

"I will try to make some medicines. I think we need to heal the elder before it's too late."

That night everyone was working hard to help. Some of the knights tried to deepen the well to get more water. Nicholos was assigned to get help from Soirvan. The maids tried to take care the sick. Iowyrthe and Judah assign some Nicholas and the shadow warriors to watch out the town in case the man in black magic cape come back.

Iris wake up when the maids were asleep. She had nothing to do so she planned get out from the inn quietly. But then she saw sparkling lights from the bag. She opened it and found a jewel box. The box that's given to her by the old lady at Callavan Market.

She hadn't check it yet until now. She opened the box and found a shining black opal ring. It has beautiful radiating iridescent colour inside. She wore it and suddenly her body felt light and fresh.

"Is this an item? Like game item? It heals me? Or it neutralized the poison?" Iris decided to go out before everybody found out she has woken up. She walked a little and got to the centre of the town. Iris saw the dying tree. She touched it with her hand.

"I wish you wake up and grow again." Iris whispered.

"I wish that too," A soft voice whispered back.

"Kyaa…" Iris shocked. Then she calmed herself. She looked around but found nobody.

"Who… who are you? Where are you?" she was frightened but tried to look strong.

"I am the tree. I am Euntaras." The soft whispered answer.

"How… how can you talk? Well, I know this is magical land, whatsoever, but still…"

"Calm, my child. It is because you are special. You are the destined one."

"Me? No, I just have to survive this story for now. I am just Iris."

"Exactly."

"Why are you dying?"

"Human greed and evil. The water is change."

"How can I help?"

"Do what you do to help, my child."

"What do I do? I don't understand."

"Princess? What did you do here?" Iowyrthe shouted from afar and sounded angry.

"I just woke up and decided to take a walk."

"You should rest, Princess. June said so." Judah added.

"I feel refreshed after this night sleep, so…"

"Do you see somebody else around here?" Iowyrthe cut her word.

"No. I was alone."

"I am sure there was bright Mana here." Felix told Iowyrthe.

"Oops, did I use magic? Did the tree use it when we talk? Or this ring…"

Krucuukkkkk…. Her empty stomach saved her.

"Pardon. I was asleep, so, I think I need some refreshment."

"The kitchen inn must be close by now. I can cook you egg, Princess." Felix offered.

"Egg sound nice. Thank you."
