29 Fen Juecheng

Cang Yue recounted Yun Che only bits of how the talk between Jasmine and herself happened yesterday, and Yun Che didn't pry much over it.

The Phoenix was lazing on the bed.

It was time to have Breakfast, Yun Che followed Cang Yue to the dining room which is located at the heart of the Imperial Palace. As Cang Yue already revealed her identity as a Princess, there was no need for her to stay in the Inner Palace anymore.

The guards on duty bowed to both Yun Che and Cang Yue and proceeded to open the door to the dining room. They were able to notice the closeness between their Princess and Yun Che so they didn't dare mistreat Yun Che.

"Princess, the breakfast is ready!" One of the servants said.

Many of the servants then went on to bring more dishes and arranged them up on the dining table.

Yun Che and Cang Yue sat down and receiving a nod from Cang Yue, the servants vacated the room with just Yun Che and Cang Yue staying behind.

.

Just before Yun Che, two dishes were placed, one cooked by the maids and the other cooked by Cang Yue herself.

Cang Yue woke up early today and prepared some, taking instructions from the fellow maids who were glad to assist her.

Cang Yue licked her lips and was silently taking a peek at Yun Che's choice.

Yun Che held the bowl cooked by Cang Yue and took a taste of it. It was Cang Yue's first time cooking. So, the aroma and the look were not much but she made sure it was definitely eatable.

"It's good," said Yun Che after taking a sip. "I'll teach you next time to make it even better."

Cang Yue nodded with a smile.

Yun Che then started devouring the food not leaving a tiny bit of it as it was cooked by Cang Yue with love and care. He then continued to eat the remaining ones.

Cang Yue watching him eat felt happy. She knew they were not that tasty from what Yun Che cooked her but she was satisfied as long she continued to try to make one.

Suddenly a guard barged into the room with sweat running down his temples.

"Princess, Young Master of the Burning Heaven Clan has come seeking your audience," He said. "Esteemed guest has been waiting for your arrival."

No one was to disturb in the dining hall, but as insisted by the Third Prince, the guard has to adhere and thus reported and immediately left.

"Brother Che, I will be back." Cang Yue excused herself.

Receiving a nod from Yun Che, Cang Yue left. She wanted to put an end to Fen Juecheng's pursue soon. And now the time has come.

____________

Cang Yue walked to the Blue Cloud Hall taking precise steps that illuminated her princess aura with each gradual step she took. And the air around her turned much more complicated.

Fen Juecheng, being the eldest son of the clan master. He appears cultured and refined on the outside, possesses the charisma of a great person but was in fact filled with extreme shrewdness.

In order to attain his goal, he would use any means possible, be it fair or foul. Sometimes, he would even do things from the shadows. Furthermore, he was very cruel and merciless, so much that it would cause one to shudder.

Cang Yue has done all her investigations and was well aware of him. She wasn't called Blue Moon Princess for nothing!

The said man was impatiently waiting for Cang Yue's arrival. He was the young master of the Burning Heaven Clan.

As soon as he received news of Cang Yue getting close to someone other than him, he was enraged and wanted to pressure Cang Yue to marry him.

Seeing Cang Yue entering the hall, Fen Juecheng went forward to greet her. But he couldn't approach her any closer and had to stop mid-way receiving a glare from Cang Yue.

"Good to see you, Princess." Fen Juecheng greeted her with a smile and praised her. "You've turned much more beautiful than before."

"Why has the Young Master of Burning Heaven Clan come here?" asked Cang Yue not beating around the bush. Her voice was much colder to him than Fen Juecheng ever heard.

"Call me by my name. Otherwise, It'll make us feel distant." Feng Juecheng said with a sad smile and then his expression turned brighter. "It's been a while so I came here to see you, Princess."

Somehow, he could notice some differences from the Cang Yue he met several times. The one ahead of him now had an ethereal temperament and looked like she has been through a lot. It's not been a month since he last saw her but the one before him looked much more appealing to his eyes.

"If it's done, you may leave." Cang Yue snorted.

"Hahaha... Princess sure is jesting," Fen Juecheng laughed, and then his expression turned serious. "I love you, Princess. I would like you to stay by my side. And I promise to take care of you well."

"I've told you many times already. I don't love you. Not much taking a liking to you. You are too delusional..." Cang Yue sneered and dismissively waved her hand at him.

Fen Juecheng's acting skills may deceive anyone but her. With the Monarch Heart Secret Art, she can peek into a person's destiny to a certain extent. And Fen Juecheng's fate was the worst she had ever seen. And him trying to go after her was just wishful thinking.

Anger was building up in Fen Juecheng after witnessing her attitude towards him and hearing her words. But he composed himself.

"Princess has already grown up and not a child anymore. Every decision Princess makes will affect the future of the Empire," said Fen Juecheng.

He was starting to threaten her saying if at all she didn't accept his proposal, it will make Blue Wind Empire's future dark. It was his trump card to force and make Cang Yue his.

Cang Yue's face revealed no changes whatsoever as if she hasn't listened to what Fen Juecheng said. Slowly, she smiled.

"So, you are now revealing your true self."

Fen Juecheng's patience was running out. He couldn't believe how a short span of time can bring a big change in her. But as he felt his cultivation was way higher, he didn't plan to retreat.

"Cang Yue... I like you... Offer yourself to me... If not, you will lose everyone close to you... Your father... and brothers..." Fen Juecheng spoke with a sinister smile as he didn't have a reason to hide his disgusting self from Cang Yue anymore.

"You know what's funny? All these days you've been thinking your father is suffering from a normal illness. But... instead, it was all my doing. That old fart denied me to marry you all this time. I had to use my Clan's most reliable parasite which doesn't have the cure to slowly kill him without anyone knowing. You know for whom I did all that... it's for you. Hahaha..."

Fen Juecheng laughed maniacally as if he was possessed. He was predetermined to see the despair on Cang Yue's face and her acceptance of his proposal. But all he saw was that same stoic face that made him frown.

"Is that all?" asked Cang Yue.

It enraged Fen Juecheng even further. She seems immune to everything related to her. How is this possible? Fen Juecheng was thinking of her weakness but couldn't find any.

"You've changed," muttered Fen Juecheng raising an eyebrow. According to the information he gathered, Cang Yue went missing for a while and then returned back with a man. His eyes narrowed in realization. "So, it's true. You've fallen for a man. Hahaha..."

Holding his laughter back, he continued "What if I k-ki...."

Words stopped midway as a short sword manifested in Cang Yue's arms which was resting on his throat. She covered the distance between them in the blink of an eye and her body was covered with Phoenix Flames which made the surrounding temperature rise up.

Yun Che was Cang Yue's Achilles heel and her temper flared up when Fen Juecheng tried to say something about him. Her body moved by itself.

Fen Juecheng tried to resist the burning sensation that was invading his body using his <Fire Profound Arts> but they were utterly useless. He tried to step back but his body didn't even respond. He was deep-rooted to the ground in fear.

It was as if the sword was waiting to slice his throat apart. He shuddered thinking of this possibility and stood staring at Cang Yue with wide eyes.

*Drip* *Drip*

Droplets of blood fell on the floor.

"Another word... And you die! I don't care if at all you are a Young Master of a Sect and someone who's important in the Empire, but regardless you die!" Cang Yue muttered in a cold tone with each word she spoke sending shivers down Fen Juecheng's spine.

It wouldn't have progressed to now if she outright rejected Fen Juecheng's confession long back which she didn't. She was weak... This time she didn't want to repeat the same thing.

Cang Yue then dissipated her Phoenix flames and weapon and turned to head back. After taking a few steps, she suddenly stopped.

"Next time, I won't be lenient as now."

Cang Yue resumed her footsteps which resounded in the entire hall and were filled with silence soon after.

Fen Juecheng landed on his butt, his expression still of disbelief. The one whom he was so eager to hold in his embrace, now just a mere thought of her would freak him out.

With trembling legs, he headed back.

It was this short period of time that gave a huge blow and affected him. Fen Juecheng finally understood that even a tiny bit of time can let someone experience the depths of hell!

And from then on, Fen Juecheng never used any Fire Profound Art as he grew fearful of it and was never located outside of his Clan.

Never...

ever..

No one knew the reason why though.

___________

Cang Yue returned to her usual calm self and sat down beside Yun Che with a smile.

"Why did it take too long?" asked Yun Che.

He was about to complete his breakfast and saw Cang Yue come back.

"It's nothing important." Cang Yue replied.

She then revealed some more dishes which she painstakingly cooked and fed them to Yun Che with her hand.

"Don't use Phoenix Flames too often... You look a little pale even after it's been half an hour," said Yun Che. "I'll have to train you a bit more." He sighed.

"Now, open your mouth."

"Aaa..."

Yun Che and Cang Yue had their breakfast together with exchanging their turns every time.

After breakfast, Yun Che gave some pointers to Cang Yue to cook some of the dishes and after many trials, the food finally started to turn better.

Jasmine woke up from all the noises and soon joined them. She didn't want to be the only one left out.

AN: I did my best to write this chapter. I had to reread the chapters not to miss minute details, it was a tedious task to do. Unlike in the OG, I tried to make Cang Yue worthy of MC. In the original, all she did was depend on MC for everything but don't expect the same thing here.

I have been wanting to write this chapter for so long and thank you, patrons. Victor Gonzalez, Oscar Sampedro Lopez, Christopher Contreras, and Benjamin Upson for enabling me to continue to write.

If you want to suggest to me or give out your ideas, I'll be glad. If you want to point out any mistakes, I will correct them. And I once again tell you, I'm not a pro, so there will be mistakes, but I'll try to minimize them. And Thank you...

*I will be busy a week from now. I'll update soon after that.*
