32 Don't mind me

(In the Cave)

The cave was completely dark.

The Phoenix landed on the ground and let out its Flames to lighten up the insides of the Cave. Only after verifying that there were no dangerous profound beasts lurking inside the cave, Yun Che let Cang Yue in.

Laying Chu Yuechan's back by the rocks, Cang Yue started to check up on her. Finding no traces of heavy internal injuries, she let out a sigh.

Chu Yuechan's body was only deprived of profound energy which can recover over time. There wasn't any immediate harm to her life.

Chu Yuechan's level of beauty would generally make anyone inferior in front of her. But as Cang Yue was habituated seeing Jasmine at a tender age being much more beautiful than she could imagine, her standards of beauty were messed up, and she didn't feel a bit nervous about seeing Chu Yuechan.

"Brother Che, She might've fought the Beast earlier and exhausted herself. Her body condition is not bad. She will wake up soon..."

Yun Che nodded and sat down making himself comfortable. The Phoenix adjusted its Flames controlling the intensity to avoid Chu Yuechan's body staying cold on the ground.

'Master, That lady cultivates an incomplete version of Ice Phoenix God Investiture Canon.' said the Phoenix.

As the Phoenix was slowly recovering its divine energy, it could partly recollect its memories as well. It explained everything it could remember about the Ice Phoenix, One of the Three Supreme Water Attribute Beasts which rank higher amongst all.

"What is this Frozen Cloud Asgard you spoke earlier?" asked Yun Che to Cang Yue.

Yun Che from his earlier knowledge knew only a bit of detail of the place and hearing the information of the Profound Arts from the Phoenix, his interest was piqued up, so he inquired.

Cang Yue sat beside and recited everything she knew about the Frozen Cloud Asgard. How cold the women there were and how mysterious the place is and all.

She informed him of the Seven Fairies of the Frozen Asgard as well. As she never saw Chu Yuechan in person, she didn't know the one ahead of her was the lady her father and many other Sect Masters in the Empire fancies. It was not her fault because Chu Yuechan rarely left Frozen Cloud Asgard for the past few years.

"Oh," Yun Che got a better understanding of how things worked. They crave power in exchange for freedom. And their profound arts were linked to this Ice Phoenix some way or the other. That's what he could infer.

Closing his eyes, Yun Che felt he met someone in the past with an ice-cold attitude towards him. Thinking deeply, Qingyue surfaced in his mind.

'Is she a member of Frozen Cloud Asgard?' Yun Che asked himself.

Her cultivation was way above anyone of her age in their city and thinking back to how she hid her cultivation from everyone including elders, it was a plausible explanation.

*Rumble*

Outside the cave, Dark clouds enveloped the sky, winds were blowing. It was about to rain and a booming thunder echoed in the distance. The dark sky was lit up by lightning for a brief moment and an earthy smell permeated the air.

Cang Yue's whole body trembled and she hugged Yun Che's chest closely which brought Yun Che back from his thoughts.

Looking at Cang Yue acting like a scared kitten, Yun Che smiled and wrapped his arms around her calming her down.

They stayed in the same position for a while and cascades of rain started beating down outside the cave while the thunders subsided.

Cang Yue didn't let go of Yun Che and leaned her head towards his chest hearing his heartbeat. Both of their heartbeats resonated together in the silent cave.

The Phoenix turned to the side not wanting to interfere this time.

Both Yun Che and Cang Yue were close to each other and their breaths quickened. Time started to flow slowly in the cave. And with raining outside, the scene turned kind of romantic for the duo.

After who knows how long, Cang Yue lifted her head up and stared deeply into Yun Che's eyes.

"Brother Che, I'm really glad that I could stay with you," said Cang Yue. "I didn't know what I would do if you rejected my proposal that day."

"Yue'er, I don't deny that it was too soon for us to get into a relationship. But I'm sure to realize my feelings for you if not now, then later. I would have confessed in the future myself." said Yun Che resolutely caressing her cheeks.

Cang Yue smiled when she imagined Yun Che confessing on his own. Thinking back, she was caught off-guard that day and now wanted to experience that sensation once again...

"Kiss me," she said holding Yun Che's hand and closed her eyes.

Yun Che moved closer to her and gave a peck on her forehead.

"Brother Che?"

"I. Kissed. You," said Yun Che playfully. "You didn't specify where exactly"

"Don't tease me... Brother Che" Cang Yue pouted.

She was clearly around 18 years but she still pouted like a kid.

"Now, it's your turn.." said Yun Che locking his eyes.

Hearing these words, Cang Yue slowly closed up the distance between them and turned to look at the Phoenix beside them, not making any movements. This time she didn't want their precious moment to be interrupted.

As her lips were inching closer to Yun Che's, a cough left her to stop still in her tracks.

*Cough* *Cough**

Chu Yuechan tried to stop her violent coughs with one of her hands and continued to observe the couple with a stoic face. Her emotions were not in a state of turmoil as before and were much stable.

"Don't mind me. You may continue..." said Chu Yuechan in an icy tone.

"...!!"

Even though her Frozen Heart Arts were melting away, Chu Yuechan didn't lose her icy demeanor as they were probably etched deep in her bone. She woke up not long back and was watching the pair. Even, in the dim-light Yun Che's features were suave and magnified.

She was curiously watching the pair but a sudden cough from her interrupted the scene.

Cang Yue hurriedly backed off disappointed. Her precious moment was once again crashed.

"Senior Sister, Are you in pain?" asked Cang Yue nearing Chu Yuechan.

Frozen Cloud Asgard Women never let emotions surface on their face so it was kinda hard for her to know what Chu Yuechan was feeling.

"I'm good" she replied in a weak tone after trying to move her arms a bit.

Her depleted profound energy will take time to recover. She could only sit idle till then. Glancing at the change of clothes, Chu Yuechan looked at Cang Yue with a questioning gaze.

As Chu Yuechan was unable to materialize her profound strength, she could not gauge both Yun Che's and Cang Yue's cultivation and could only treat them as Juniors.

"Senior Sister, I had to change your previous clothes as they were pretty torn in the battle and carried you here," Cang Yue said slowly not letting her misunderstand thinking that Yun Che was the one who did it. She knew how women from that Sect were somewhat allergic to men.

"Mhm," Chu Yuechan gave a nod. Unconsciously she loosened up her muscles after hearing it from Cang Yue. "What about that Ice Beast?"

"It's dead" came the reply this time from Yun Che.

Chu Yuechan guessed that the Beast might be dead but from hearing it directly from Yun Che, ripples appeared in her eyes for a short moment, then turned tranquil as usual.

She heard some name and a beam of condensed flames shot through the Ice Beast and soon her vision darkened as she lost her consciousness thereafter.

How did the beast get itself killed? Was it dealt a heavy blow? No, it's not possible. How could it then?

The color of the beam and the Flames the Phoenix was emitting were kind of similar which left her in deep thoughts.

Cang Yue introduced Yun Che and herself. She didn't have a reason to hide her real identity and introduced herself as the Blue Moon Princess.

Chu Yuechan was a little surprised to know the Princess of the Blue Wind Empire came to the Wasteland of Death. But she didn't enquire. She then only introduced herself as one of the Seven Fairies of Frozen Cloud Asgard but didn't give away her name.

She didn't have to put her guard up in front of the kids or so she thought.

"You can continue what you were doing earlier," said Chu Yuechan tiredly closing her eyes taking a rest.

"Senior Sister!" Cang Yue's face reddened as even her Senior Sister was teasing her.

It was pin-drop silent in the cave except for the sound of the rain.

"You two are a good pair." Chu Yuechan mumbled.

It was her first time watching such a loving pair and laid there resting silently.

Soon, Chu Yuechan recovered enough strength to speak. Both Cang Yue and Chu Yuechan were busy chatting with each other.

"Why did Senior Sister come to such a dangerous place and had to risk herself?" asked Cang Yue.

Feeling that, she asked something personal, Cang Yue was about to say something when Chu Yuechan answered.

"It's for the upcoming Blue Wind Tournament which will be held in 2 months." She said.

She then filled in details about her arrival to increase the cultivation of one of their disciples which Cang Yue felt was genuine. While Cang Yue herself filled in the details which occurred in the Empire for the past few years. And the atmosphere turned livelier.
