17 Change of Plans

Cang Yue carefully observed the man ahead of her. His build was that of an 18 old. His body looked somewhat lean but witnessing the scene which was earlier etched into her heart, she knew it's not as fragile as it looked.

She couldn't ascertain his features as he wore a hoodie similar to her but his gaze was calm and collected. His carefree attitude told her that he isn't afraid of any sneak attacks even if she tried to do one.

"So, what is it now?" asked Yun Che as he was not intending to waste his time and was restless.

He already knew someone was following his lead long back and thought they were just curious or something and would leave soon after getting tired. But what he didn't expect is this lady followed his tracks even for half a day.

"Can I know your cultivation base?" asked Cang Yue meekly.

Many men usually were awestruck by seeing her appearance for the first time but Yun Che still can talk normally as if nothing happened. It was like in Yun Che's eyes, her looks were nothing but average. Her previous confidence vanished into thin air.

She thought at least the man would fit the criteria to participate in the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament and she can fulfill her father's last wish. She was hopeful of that.

"Why should I tell you?" asked Yun Che impatiently. A lady came out of nowhere and asked him about his cultivation. He had no reason to entertain such a woman.

"Lan Xuero is my name. I earlier saw that you rescued someone and am interested in you joining Blue Wind Palace. Do you want to become a member of it? I will see that you get good cultivation resources" replied Cang Yue straight-forwardly.

Cang Yue thought Yun Che lacked resources and can lure him in with it. She can't let go of him at any cost. Even the chance of him securing top 3 in the Blue Wind Tournament was very slim for her, she didn't want to let it go.

Every word she spoke with such a noble tone as if even stones can be melt alone hearing her voice. But her charm didn't work on Yun Che.

Yun Che already knew what the tournament is about, from his predecessors' memories. He was clearly surprised the one who's asking him to join the Blue Wind Palace was none other than the princess of the Blue Wind Empire but didn't show it on his face.

It was his second time a girl lied to him regarding their name. But it sums up as they are both princesses. Cang Yue can't tell her real name for each and everyone as she had her own privacy and she seems stressed about something.

Thinking for a while, Yun Che accepted the quest from the system.

Not getting a reply from Yun Che, the situation turned awkward for Cang Yue. She thought Yun Che is hesitating about her offer and was downhearted. She can't force others into doing something they didn't want. She could only hope that Yun Che will hear her.

"Hmm... Okay. Anyhow, I am already planning to join the Blue Wind Palace" said Yun Che.

Cang Yue didn't dare believe her own ears. Did she succeed in persuading him? She felt ecstatic.

"But... It will take time. I have other things to complete" Yun Che continued.

Her previous joyful mood was now like someone just pouring a bucket of cold water. She was naive and thought Yun Che was making up for her not to feel bad.

"It's okay if you are not interested. I'm not forcing you." mustering up a little bit of confidence she said.

Look at Cang Yue's downcasted face, Yun Che spoke

"I promise I will join Blue Wind Palace. But not now..." Yun Che smiled a little bit and because he covered himself with the hoodie, Cang Yue couldn't see it.

"Where are you heading to then?" asked Cang Yue feeling hopeful that he isn't lying. And her intuition said to her it will be safe to be with him.

"Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range" answered Yun Che flatly.

Cang Yue looked at Yun Che, appalled.

Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range located in the Blue Wind Empire is the profound beasts' paradise. There are violent Nascent and Earth Profound beasts all over the mountains. There is even a rumor that there are three Sky Profound beasts dwelling in the mountain range.

Her feeling of fear is normal. She was now certain that Yun Che is lying. But looking at Yun Che's composure, she had this feeling that she's wrong. But she bet on it.

"Can I follow you? I know the directions and I even knew the area quite well" chuckled Cang Yue.

She didn't want to expose his lie as she kept her own details a secret from him. But she can't go empty-handed after coming this far, can she?

"Sure, no problem" replied Yun Che.

His system gave him a quest to succeed in Phoenix's Trials but except that he didn't have many details on it. If someone familiar with the place helps him out, he thought it would be better and he can complete the quest quickly.

But on the other side, Cang Yue just freaked out. She really had a little idea about the place but was now scared.

'So, he really wasn't lying when he said he will go to Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range!!' she thought. But she can't back down now. As someone from the royal family, how can she?

Cang Yue had a forced smile on her face as she led Yun Che and they started their journey. It went well and soon night came.

*growl* *growl*

Cang Yue felt embarrassed and covered her stomach but it didn't stop. Instead, it became even louder.

"I think we traveled very far today. Let's rest" said Yun Che as he can't travel for more, keeping on hearing that.

Cang Yue blushed but still nodded.

If it was only Yun Che he would have just slept beside the tree. But now, with Cang Yue here, he can't do the same. As he was still thinking of what to do, Cang Yue pulled out two tents from her storage ring and started placing them herself.

Yun Che gave a hand and helped her.

After that, he set a fire and Cang Yue supplied him with ingredients to cook. When Yun Che expectingly looked towards her, wanting to taste the dishes she made, she swiftly turned her head away and whispered,

"I don't know how to cook" and left into the tent waiting for Yun Che to start cooking.

Yun Che let out a sigh. 'As expected from a princess', he thought.

Jasmine didn't know how to cook and as she was still about 13 he could think it's okay. But here, Cang Yue is around 18 years and still didn't know a bit about cooking, he can't help but facepalm.

In his previous life, he used to prepare his own meals. So, he was proficient in it and cooking was no problem for him. Using his prior knowledge, he fully immersed himself in cooking.

The aroma soon filled the surroundings and Cang Yue smelling something pleasant came out. Seeing Yun Che skilfully making the dinner, she not only felt happy but also guilty.

Cang Yue went to Yun Che and started helping him with slicing and handing him the ingredients.
