85 Into the Pyramid!

Seeing the situation, Lance racked his brain for ideas.

Yu Ying had just managed to get the jeep back in control but another laser was charging up behind them.

"Darius! Make a ramp towards the gate right there!", he said, pointing at the gate.

A look of realization appeared on Darius's face as he immediately pointed at a location near where Lance was pointing.

"Yu Ying! Full acceleration! Everyone, jump off when I say so!", Lance screamed again, making Yu Ying floor the accelerator.

With a screeching sound, the jeep sped towards the forming ramp.

The sand devils all stretched out their hands at the jeep before disappearing and starting to reappear near it.

One devil was coincidentally in the exact spot that the ramp was forming.

Just as the jeep launched off the ramp and careened into the pyramid, Darius screamed with agony clutching his head.

It seemed that he was no longer in control of his body. Thankfully, the ramp had held until the moment it needed to.

"Jump!", Lance screamed just as they were under the right block.

Everyone had been waiting for the instruction and leapt off immediately. Thankfully, the blocks were so huge that they could land on the same one and roll into the side of the pyramid to get rid of the momentum.

Lance had grabbed hold of Darius. He had then thrown him onto the block before landing wand rolling like the rest.

Instinctually, Darius also curled into a ball to lessen the impact. Although he was scraped badly, there were no deep injuries. He was still far from OK, as the screams of agony were yet to stop.

Lance quickly ran toward one end of the block and applied force on it.

N, E, NE, SE, E, S, SE, NE, E, W was the code, with the letters corresponding to the directions. He had to move the block in each direction until it noticeably budged a little. This required him to constantly use his strength IN, although using the wishroot was still not needed.

With a rumbling sound, a cavity opened in front of them. The team of 5 quickly entered with Darius being dragged in by Lance.

The inside was pitch dark and musty. A foul odor was in the air which reeked of dead animals. They were in a perfectly square cavern with the end sealed behind them, as the 'gate' had closed 5 seconds after it had opened.

Suddenly, the cavern shook and dust fell from the ceiling as something impacted the entrance they had come through.

"Its those comets! They must have seen us come in. Move in fast, we don't want to be stuck here in case this end collapses.", said Yu Yan, panicking.

Nodding, the rest moved forward. It was pitch dark so they could only feel the walls and move. Darius's screams echoed in the cavern. They had decided that they would see what was wrong with him after getting to a safe place.

After walking for a quarter-hour, the cavern opened into a wide space.

It was a large square room, with the roof at least 50 feet high.

What shocked each and every team member was that this room was filled with shining gold, rubies and diamonds.

Snapping out of it, Lance first laid Darius down. No matter what he did, Darius could not stop screaming.

Getting an idea, he asked one of the twins to hypnotize him.

Yu Yan volunteered, and bent over him with a cute expression.

Her eyes turned into those of a puppy as she said, "Darius, you're scaring me!". Tears swam in those large, adorable eyes as Darius's scream finally lessened.

Just as Lance and the others were feeling happy that there was some effect, a look of horror came on Yu Yan's eyes.

"No! Its not human!", she screamed before also clutching her head just like Darius.

Blood dripped from her nose, dropping to the ground before she too started screeching continuously, as if someone were torturing her.

The twin screams echoed in the room as the team panicked having no idea what to do.
