1 By The Grace Of The Deity

"My child, can you here my voice?" A all-encompassing voice of eternity echoed through a void. With no sight, the entity could not see.

"My child, please come closer to me." The voice continued echoing as if waiting for a long lost child. The entity did not feel and coldness from the voice, sensing a warmth that was indescribable. In the pitch black void, the entity instinctively moved towards the source of the words. Feeling comfortable, the entity finally gazed upon what seemed to be a faint light in the midst of the endless void.

"My child, you have come to me." The voice warmly spoke. Feeling a radiance of warmth, the entity remained still and basked in the comfort.

"I am Crea, the one that has summoned you into creation. You are a special entity, unlike any other. You are unique, like all of my creations. You are wonderfully made and a child of mine. But you will have no name."

"A name is only given to a creation that earns it. A name is perhaps a trophy worth millions of souls, and uncountable sorrows. A name is proof of character."

"Alas, an empty entity has no character. You are still my child by right alone, but you are not above anyone. In the world of mine, I will give you whatever you desire. I will give you a family, riches, fortune, and power. But I can only give such things through you. It will only depend on you, how you live."

The faint light began to slowly dim.

"My child, I will bestow upon you the birthright of all my creations. I give you the Life Index."

A peculiar set of words and numbers flashed in front of the entity, before immediately closing. With just one glance, the entity memorised the words and engraved them into its very being.

Seeing the entity completely fine, the faint light smiled and disappeared. With it, the void became light and reversed its role. A flash of white light blinked around the entity before a feeling of limbs being attached to it finally came. With a strange new feeling of a completely foreign concept, the entity dragged its new skeletal fingers across its rib cage and explored the body it had been given.

'Where am I?'

"Brother." A voice answered immediately, dragging the entity into reality with the grasp of its hand. Awaking in a an unfamiliar stone cave, the entity did not even know how it knew what stone is. But it knew that the being in front of it is a skeleton. The same race as the entity.

"Brother, you have finally awoken. Please come with me, you must receive your armament as soon as possible. The next wave of hunters is arriving soon. Not even the eldest knows whether we will survive until the next cycle." The skeleton said with a warm yet cold voice.

The entity took a brief moment to process what was happening before speaking its first words.

"Why am I here?" The entity asked with a confused voice.

"You are here to defend our home. You are here to slay our foe; the hunters."

"Who are these hunters?" The entity again asked.

"They are the ones of the human race that come to murder and pillage our home. They are stronger than us and much more skilled than us. We are merely F rank mobs, and we are to face a full invasion force of E rank hunters within the hour. It may very be your first and last cycle in this world, Brother." The skeleton said with a regretful tone as it grasped the entity's shoulder.

The sound of bones hitting stone could be heard from every direction as skeletons ran towards the same direction. Many of them had clubs and large wooden branches, and only a few of them had swords or shields. But all of these skeletons seemed united in their actions, as if rushing for a common goal.

"Those are your brothers and sisters." The skeleton said as he pointed to the skeletons that were running.

"They are preparing for the imminent invasion. We too must ready ourselves. Even with my vitality being 2, I will still become ash today. So do not fret, this is the duty of a mob. We will die, and we will die well." The skeleton said as it handed the entity a wooden branch.

"I do not desire to die. I must survive."

The skeleton looked at the entity and felt a hint of pity knowing that those words were naive and foolish. In the lowest echelon of the dungeon, this tomb sat without much power. The hunters of E rank would still need to clear this tomb if they desired the treasures beyond it. Thus, the skeletons were ready to die.
