1 Ruins

The world had fallen to ruins and I was not a chosen one. The beggining of my issues started 5 minutes into the great collapse of my utopia, our utopia. I had woken up to some loud bangs oitside, so I had gotten up and looked out the window. What I saw was merely passed off as a parade at first. Countless monsters that I had seen in fairy tales and ancient myths were wandering the town. They were all different sizes and some were scary while some were cute. My fantasy that regarded this as a parade quickly fell apart as I watched a giant reptile bite off the upper half of a humanoid pig thing. It was when the guts splattered on the ground from the body in a pool of blood that I looked away and gagged. My hand quickly covered my mouth as reflex to the gagging action. As if it could stop the vomit once it left my mouth. A warm chunky liquid with an awful smell that quickly invaded my nostrils struck my hand and either went around it or went through the gap in between my fingers. My eyes that closed as I threw up now opened and looked at the hand covered in vomit. It was then that I had realized my hand was not how it was normally. Quickly I travelled across my room and in front of the mirror. I looked at her familiar figure in the mirror and it was then that I understood.

My body that I could previously boast about having perfect skin and beautiful hair was replaced by a piece of wood shaped like me wearing my clothes. The wood was rough with little twigs sticking out in some places but what bothered me most was the wood had no hair. It wasn't me insulting wood and saying it couldn't count as hair, there was just no hair. At that point I had collapsed to my knees. I don't know how long I sat there but either way it was too long as when I had come to my senses the building was rumbling and the ceiling cracked apart before falling on me.

That was all I remember from what happened before I passed out. Looking at my wooden hand I knew I couldn't pass it off as a dream. I want my body back, I will do whatever it takes. Looking out at the now collapsed city I could visibly see how each object was destroyed. That building had a large spikey object slam into it with great speed, and that one had a large explosion in the center of it. This wasn't me actually seeing what happened it was me understanding what happened by observing the results. Is this because I turned to wood I thought while looking down see my wooden hands.

"Are you sure you heard something over here?" I heard a voice coming from behind a large chunk of debris from my house.

"I need help!" I shout out to them as I climb out from under the rubble hoping that I can find shelter. The sounds of clanking armour quickly came towards me as two knights appeared out from behind the large chunk of debris. They stop the moment they see me.

"It is just a monster. Let's kill it and quickly leave here before more come." The knight in front says while getting in a low stance that looks like he is going to charge me. They are going to kill me? Already on my feat I immediately start running. With the sound of clanking armour falling behind me my wooden mouth began curving into a smile. Victory shined upon me as I ran away, but quickly faded as I heard a shout from behind.

"Wind Slash!" I heard as with only a moment's delay a large gash appeared in my back. The cutting made no sound but it had nearly seperated my head along with one of my arms from the rest of my body. I fell to my knees as a sharp pain flooded my brain. I reached to my back as a reaction to the pain and found a 3 inch deep cut that went all the way from my right shoulder to the left of my stomach. Just by feeling it I could tell that normally a wound like this would hurt a lot more than it did.

"Stay back!" I shout looking at the two knights who are walking towards me.

"Ha, it thinks it knows people talk." I hear one say to me with the other laughing in agreement.

"I am a person I just turned to wood yesterday! Please, don't kill me!" I say to buy time as I climb to my feet.

"It thinks it can get away if it can get back on it's feet? Jason show her your specialty magic." The knight closest to me said as I finally climbed up off of my knees.

"Gravity Control!" The knight named jason shouted as I fell down to my knees with enough force that I could feel my entire body crumbling apart. I could feel my consciousness fade away as I heard some voices.

"Shit this guy can use magic." I heard one of the knights say.

"Can't you tell the difference between intelligent monsters and actual beasts?" A new voice echoed out in my mind much louder than the others as I fell asleep.
