2 The Beginning of Darkness

Flashback to 20 years ago...

Under the moonlight, a figure of a small child was hidden behind a large mangrove tree. With eyes brimming with silent tears and body shaking all over, he is helpless as he witnessed the scene that beholds in front of him. Barely seven years old, the child was forced to forsake his innocence as he realized the true nature of the law of the jungle. He swore that one day he will reach the greatest height in power and protect the one who treasured him most. In one night, the life of a child dramatically transforms and he will be haunted by emotions of darkness which will engulf him until vengeance is satiated.

5 years later...

The rustling of chains can be heard in one of the secret rooms, located far beneath the main house. It reeks of moldy walls and the floor was damp with residue of what is known as human waste. A figure of a young boy, about the age of ten can be seen to be blending into the background. He is a prisoner who was recently caught after a long chase. Even after three days of being tortured and left to starve, he did not relent. The whipping lashes did not heal and are starting to bleed again. It is visible for anyone to see that another whipping on his thin frame might be his last as his body is starting to break. Perhaps he will not last tonight. Still, he held on to his growing hatred and that fuel his desire for vengeance against those who wronged him. Up until the end, he relies on his strong will to live, but that is short-lived as his vision becomes blurry and he slowly descended into darkness.

Right before he lost his consciousness, a figure of a man appear. That man wore a dark hooded top and as the light from the moon enters the room from the small crack in the walls, a tattoo of a snake can be seen on his neck. That man will be not only be the young boy's savior, but also his enemy in the future. As the hooded man broke the young boy free from the chains, he whispered, "You'll live for tonight but whether you live after this night will depend on your abilities. Don't let me down".
