Laliana's been stressed out for god's knows how long. She was stressed from her work, her parents' constant urging for her to get married and just everything. And it's affecting her work. So, in order to destress, she decided to travel and relax by enjoying herself on the beautiful beach Zakynthos, Greece has to offer. Everything's great. She got to enjoy and relax while trying out different things and meeting other people, including the hot Greek man and his cute adorable son.
"Ah. I'm finally back." Laliana uttered as reality finally struck her. She glanced at her table full of documents she needed to sign and review. Beside that pile was a cold coffee that her twin brought to her.
Maybe her twin dropped by while she was busy signing the documents or when she was in her meeting. She didn't know, honestly. Her body just went "office mode" and just finally snapped back now.
She sighed and massaged her numb shoulders. It was already 12 o'clock, lunch time. But here she was, drinking the cold coffee instead of having lunch like her employees. During this time, she missed her little escapade in the beautiful beach of Zakynthos, Greece.
There, she won't have to worry about her family's company falling apart by a single mistake or her constant rejection of her parents' attempt to set her up on a blind date with their business partners' or their friends' sons. There, she just has to mind how to coax the adorable baby who threw a tantrum when she just wandered off for some time.
Before, she became really uncomfortable with how that baby tries to be clingy to her in every moment they met, going as far as renting the house next to hers or forcing his unwilling father to sign up to beach activities she's doing.
She missed those times. But there's so much she needs to do rather than spend her time running away from her responsibilities in Greece. But deep inside her heart, she wishes to go back to that beach, just enjoy the beautiful beach and play house with that Greek man named Atticus and his adorable son, Eros. But maybe it was a far-fetched dream. After all, beside their names and their memories in Greece, she knows nothing about them and so did they.
"Let's just work." Laliana said before she once again drowned in her desire to go back and find that father and son duo who managed to creep to her heart on her month-long stay in Greece. She pick up the pen once again, ready to sign the documents occupying most of her table's space when her office door opened, revealing her secretary who appeared as if she just ran from the cafeteria to her office.
"Have I been too lenient, Miss Shaira? I told you not to just barge into my office without knocking!" She yelled. Normally, her secretary would just flinch and say sorry before stating her reason for barging in without knocking but now, as if what she just said was not important, she took a deep breath before heading to her table.
"Miss!" she exclaimed. "You," she breathed, "You're on the news!"
"I'm always on the news." she stated. She's always on the news for closing deals that brought millions or even billions of dollars to their company and for being one of the well-sought bachelorette. Being on the news was not a new thing for her. The moment she became the CEO of the company, she's been in the news for god knows how long.
But her secretary seems somewhat restless. Isn't she still used to her being on the news? "It's not that usual news, Miss." She seemed hesitant to continue her next sentence.
"Then what? Did my twin get photographed and the news reporters confused us two?" she nonchalantly asked. Afterall, it happened once. It was such a pain to fix that one since even her twin's private life was jeopardized by reporters and paparazzis.
"No, Miss." her secretary grimaced, making her eyebrow rise. "You're in the news…with your family..??"
"Family? I haven't been with my family for ages. Did one of our former vacations get into the reporter's hands?"
"No, Miss."
"Then, what? You're starting to annoy me, Shaira." She finally stopped signing the documents and gave her attention to her secretary who seemed to be debating whether to give her phone to her or not. "Give it to me."
"Y-yes, Miss." Laliana glanced at her secretary before looking at the phone. And her heart almost dropped on what she saw.
It was a picture of her with Atticus and Eros. The three of them smiling happily, contrasting the multiple images that followed it, their individual pictures which showed how cold they were. It was a photo captured when they were in Zakynthos, enjoying themselves.
She finally read the news' headlines. Power Couple of the Year: Demetriou & Desrosiers
"It was a picture of your family.. in your Greece vacation, Miss."
