27 A Course Of Action And The Global Stage

Im going to stop dancing around with plots now, time to finish up. A few more arcs from now... then I'll rewrite this story or start a new one!

The US military under Retired General Mattis has been pouring over the gathered data for the past days; aerial surveillance pictures, documents gathered by undercover operatives, information from the prisoners and locals were all taken in by the bureaucrats and then analyzed to determine the next course of action.

Currently there were two options being discussed; the first one being an advance towards the capital and taking strategic cities along the way and the other one is a blitz assault on the capital and decapitating the leadership of the country.

"But I can only imagine the cultural shock it would bring to the civilians, they will need time to adapt to us." The house-speaker expressed his concerns.

"Time is what we don't have house-speaker." Defense secretary Mattis started. "Everyday the Chinese tightens their grip on trade, making it hard for us to buy the oil that we need."

"But the UN wont be happy if we just storm a country and cut off their leadership." The army chief of staff commented.

"The UN? Russia and China are bending the damn council like clay after China hooked the economy and minerals from the African countries and Russia with the Baltic and Balkans states after the failed stunt by the EU to unite the damn union." The marine chief of staff said with a shake of his head."

Mattis nodded his head. "The UN will be on our asses already once they discover that they didn't get invited or notified on the incursion of another country." He added.

The past one and a half century has been a shitty one for the us, china got it's influence over the African continent, specifically the eastern and the southern parts after a severe drought and famine due to their inefficient farming methods after the Boers fled the country for the greener pastures of Russia.

The Russians on the other hand didn't do anything active except when the EU tried to pull a stunt- specifically Germany and France, to try to unite the EU into one mega country, it failed and the opportunity to extend influence to the Baltic and Balkan states were too good to pass up for the Russian federation.

All of that happened while the US was caught up with their own energy problems after an oil price hike and a nuclear reactor meltdown. The government shifted to a less active role in the global stage and shifted it's focus and resources to provide for it's own needs.

Basically 1930's again as some say.

So it was pretty bad for the US who for the past six years or so tried to remedy it by investing resources on tech and new methods for self-sufficiency.

Almost everything except for oil has a viable alternative, the damn thing is called black gold for a reason but in the day today you might just substitute the word gold for diamond.

So the US looked for a new alternative to energy production since the public is now mostly against nuclear energy after the meltdown and oil prices are skyrocketing.

It came as a knock on the door of the president and a proposal by the renowned physicist Colin Palmer.

Now, you might now the particles that compose today's atoms like ol' protons, electrons, neutrons who all behave and are following the set rules of physics. But what if the US made a discovery? The discovery being the long-theorized dark matter which seems to defy those laws? Well, Colin Palmer drew up a theoretical process which proposes the utilization of the new discovery as a new energy source?

It was experimental yes, but humanity has been playing with fire since it's discovery.

And when the president released the funding for Colin's experiments, it's just the modernized version of it.

If the Chinese or Russians get the wind of this- which they undoubtedly will, they will do everything in their power to gain this new energy source and try to see and limit the new competition in the global market, Ensuring the US gets weaker.

But the president and Mattis be damned if they let that happen, they will go back to the global stage stronger than ever and take back the world under their influence.

The US isn't an angel, but nor is it a demon.

It is a Country, with interests to keep and people to represent.

And one of those interest is to keep the global Balance while looking after the people.

Mattis stood up and gave out a short speech. "Gentlemen, this is what we've been waiting for. The Russians and Chinese have been toying with us for too long. We must secure the new world and it's potential for us and I'll be damned if I let the 'United' Nations get in the way of balance under our eyes."

The people on-screen were all nodding in agreement with the Marine General Staff speaking up.

"This might be a bit informal for me but seeing as we're all military men- including you house speaker. I guess my old self has been waiting for so long to say this... may I sir?" He asked for Mattis' permission who then gave the go-ahead.

"Let's fuck them up."
