What Is This ?

In the bustling city of Tokyo, a young boy named Nobita slowly opened his eyes. He found himself wearing a bright yellow shirt and dark blue pants. As he blinked, he was startled to see a big blue raccoon with no ears, a slightly red nose, and a yellow bell around its neck. "Wha..." Nobita stammered, before the raccoon interrupted him.

"You had me worried there, Nobita. I thought it would take you much longer to recover after your unfortunate fall down the stairs, hitting your head on your mom's vacuum cleaner and getting electrocuted," the blue raccoon spoke with concern. "Luckily, I had attached a safety gadget to you earlier, otherwise you would have spent many days in the hospital. Thank goodness you're okay now."

Before Nobita could even process what had just happened, darkness consumed him once again.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a void, his face contorting as if he were trying to speak.

After a few minutes, which felt like an eternity, the void began to transform. Images whirled by at an incomprehensible speed, dividing into two categories—nine bookcases and sixteen bookcases. Suddenly, the surroundings morphed into a classical Japanese house with a touch of modernity. And there, a boy began to take shape.

With black hair and clad in a yellow hoodie, blue pants, and light blue shoes, the boy appeared to be around thirteen years old. As he slowly opened his eyes, he surveyed his new surroundings—the bookcases and the house. A whirlwind of emotions flickered through his eyes: horror, joy, excitement, fear, and ultimately, acceptance.

His name was Akio Elsher, a sixteen-year-old second-year university student studying at MIT. Yet now, he found himself in the body of Nobita Nobi, a nine-year-old fourth-grade student whose life eerily resembled that of a character from a cartoon show called "Doraemon," only with a heightened sense of realism.

Akio Elsher had been a brilliant boy, born to an American mother and an Indian father in India. His exceptional talents began to manifest when he started school, demonstrating a knack for breaking down complex concepts into simpler parts. Coupled with his remarkable memory, he skipped a few junior classes, though he eventually decided to receive a normal education in middle school at the behest of his parents, who wanted him to experience a more typical childhood.

He later earned admission to IIT Bombay, studying computer science, and transferred to MIT in the same year. Akio excelled not only academically but also in various sports such as cricket, basketball, football, and badminton.

One day, as he was on his way to buy the latest One Piece manga, Akio's attention was captivated by a ball of light floating near an alley. He recognized it as ball lightning, a rare natural phenomenon and the subject of a research project in which his professor had entered his name. "You should explore new avenues instead of recycling projects from high school under the guise of 'research'," his professor had advised.

Akio, a lazy individual who relished nothing more than reading manga in bed, had predictably handed in his old high school projects. Unfortunately, his mother had already foreseen this and informed his professors. Thankfully, one of his professors assigned him an intriguing project. If he could capture it on video and submit it, he could coast through the rest of the semester with ease. But as he reached for his phone, a bolt of lightning from the sky collided with the ball of lightning, and everything went black.

When he awoke this time, he found himself inhabiting Nobita's body. Nobita Nobi was an ordinary boy living in Tokyo, Japan. The son of Tamako Nobi and Nobisuke Nobi, he was a weak student with poor grades who was often bullied by his childhood friends, Gian and Suneo, who took advantage of his simplicity. He harbored a secret crush on another childhood friend, Shizuka, and had a rival named Dekisugi, who excelled in both academics and sports. Nobita also had a loyal friend in Doraemon, a cat-shaped robot from the 22nd century sent by his future grandson, Shiwashi, to alter his destiny for the better.

While Nobita was unaware of his own future, he had once heard Dekisugi explaining the concept of the "grandpa paradox" to Shizuka, sparking his curiosity. When he asked Doraemon about it, the robot replied, "Don't worry, Nobita. It's not something you should be concerned about for now. Now, focus on your homework!"

Doraemon's role was usually limited to offering assistance when Nobita sought it, providing him with various "cool gadgets." In his free time, Doraemon enjoyed spending time with a cat named Mi-chan and indulging in dorayaki, his favorite treat. When Doraemon had first arrived, Nobita's parents were skeptical of his claims of being from the future but eventually relented, allowing him to stay on the condition that no other pets were brought into the house—his parents simply thought Doraemon was an earless cat with a talent for speech. Doraemon didn't push the matter further.

Now, in what seemed to be his own mindscape, influenced by the isekai manga he had devoured, Akio—now Nobita—decided to test the extent of his newfound abilities. With a thought, a glass of water materialized before him, but he immediately felt drained. Dismissing the glass with another thought, the water persisted. Determined, he attempted to shape the water into a watch, but the effort strained him to the point of collapse. His gaze then fell upon a peculiar sight—a ball of lightning, now black in color. "What is this?" he wondered aloud.
