1 Prologue

The sound of creaking branches beneath my feet and the rustle of the leaves of the trees surrounding me, are barely heard because of my heavy breathing and a pounding heart beating out of my chest as I make my way deeper into the forests of London.

I absolutely don't have a clue of how I eventually got here or if it really was a clever move to choose such a deep, dark side of this unknown forest to escape.

Not that I care very much at the moment, I had to leave! Common sense wasn't exactly my first priority, certainly not with my thoughts roaming all over the place, my mind just went blank and I ran. Even now when black spots are blurring my view, I don't even think about stopping or how responsible it actually is to fight my way through the sharp branches and dangerous roots of trees sticking out.

Every single muscle in my body is aching, my lungs begging for air ever since I entered the forest, but I don't think of stopping. I have to keep running! I don't care about my body being beyond exhausted, or how I am almost falling to the ground with every step I take.

I am covered in bruises, deep cuts and gashes because of the low hanging branches.

The forest has become pitch black, but I can't afford to stop and give him a chance to get to me after what I saw!

Blood is gushing out of a wound in my shoulder, it hurts like hell and I can feel myself growing weaker ever since a warning growl warned me not to stay put. My clothes are ripped, I can barely stand on my feet, but I have to keep on moving. There is no way that I will go back to that place.

Everything I've ever known turns out to be a lie and I don't know who to trust or where I'd be safe... hell, I don't even know if I can trust myself!

My head is pounding terribly and I can feel how my muscles and body beg for me to stop, I can't go on much longer... the image impressed in my memory is the only thing that makes me able to do another step, until I finally collapse on the cold, wet ground. I can just make out the contours of a massive building in front of me before I start fading.

The voice of my father still echoes in my mind, cold and ruthless as he killed the rest of our family with a malicious smile on his face...

'It is time, my little sunflower. Your destiny has finally caught up with you!' he told me, a look of insanity in his eyes as he held out the knife soaking in my family's blood. 'You have to go...'

I ran like hell after that, so at least I tried to make it out alive and delayed my death for maybe a few hours.

Let him come... I am ready.
