I almost fell asleep!
She had some sort of charm speak that are people obey her every command.
I gave her a warning glance deciding to pull out my last card.
According to Barracuda, I could speak to animals.
I wonder if I can also attract them.
After 30 seconds of trying...
"I am a noble"
She laughed but a snort escaped which she tried to cover up with a dignified gaze.
"I am on a mission"
My interest was piqued and I wanted to know more.
"To do what"?
" Find every last demigod, and I have reason to believe you may be one"
"And if I'm not"
"Then you'd have some relation to him, not entirely useless to me"
"Can we share our names now?"
She sighed expecting me to go on.
I turned around before giving her a sheepish smile.
"Ian"
"Xoc"
I nodded in satisfaction and decided to follow her for now.
"If you're following me you need to get stronger, this path is not for the weaklings"
She took this so seriously. We were only a few meters away from the kingdom.
Oh, the things that were going in my head I did not know as I saw a signboard indicating we were currently on our way out of Maya.
"I escaped!"
She gave me a look and I kept shut.
"We are going to a tavern"
Now, this was ultimately bad news.
But it still gave some light.
[Quest!]
[Convince the tavern people you're not the prince]
[Rewards; Animal-based power]
Well, this was interesting.
I was a bit skeptical but after seeing a chance to become stronger I couldn't turn it down.
___
Oh, week this was surprising.
There were simply a number of seven in the tavern.
With Xoc with me, this was going to be a lot easier.
No attention was brought to me and Xoc as we entered the tavern.
If I was able to leave without any problems I guess the Quest should be complete.
I walked up to the table.
A stout young boy was the bartender.
I quickly ordered for a classic Sundae as that was what I mostly licked back home.
Now, this aroused some interest.
"We don't have sundaes, but I bet that silly prince and all those nobles could."
Xoc raised an eyebrow at me and quickly intervened.
"He was simply mocking the prince"
The tavern people collectively released a grunt of understanding.
"Could we order a bottle of your finest muff"
The stout boy smiled using his eyes to carefully caress Xoc's face.
"And perhaps the location to the nearest town out the kingdom"
The stout boy replied shortly with a mug of what they called muff in hand.
It was pink and foamy but it held this soda aura.
"That would be central"
"Everyone knows where central is, unless you're from another kingdom."
"Now that I think about it you two don't look like you're from here"
"The boy cast a devilish grin"
The tavern members slowly stood their eyes filled with
'Cha-Ching'
and the fight engaged.
They immediately went after Xoc.
A bunch of cowards. But I guess Xoc was the stronger one here.
She held a calm gaze and grabbed the mug of muff pouring its contents on a tavern man who was sent screaming in agony.
She then used the mug to slam it into some tavern men head.
She used the men's bodies as shields and attacked the others through their lump bodies.
Only the Stout bit remained but he shortly fainted and Xoc flawed a charming smile before emptying all the contents of muff in a row of 14 bottles.
We departed the bar shortly.
I almost forgot about my quest and I eagerly contacted Barracuda.
[Quest complete!]
[Would you like to receive rewards?]
[Duh]
........
"Yes"
[You now can call animals to your aid!]
This was certainly an interesting thing for me.
