I and Xoc we're currently on our way to Central.

According to the map, she stole from the tavern it would only take a few more hours till we reached there.

After all, we had already seen spoils of civilization.

My body was surprisingly faring well to this long endeavor.

We had spent up to three days on road. Meeting many travelers like us.

I didn't know why Xoc didn't just use her power on them. We could easily have gotten a free ride.

My worth increased as the days passed and no quest was brought upon me so far.

I was quicker now and my energy had increased.

Xoc kept brushing a lock of hair off her face and I had a bright idea. Not knowing why I hadn't used it before.

"Xoc"?

She made a noise of affirmation and kept walking along the plains.

" I have an idea"

She gave another noise and I decided to go along with it.

I communicated to Barracuda who I now named Timbers.

[Energy would be drained by using this ability]!

[Commence]?

I hummed in reply and I sense there was a change in the air.

I heard numerous whistlings and a flock of birds appeared.

I had expected something much larger.

But the birds had few away and out came something a little more to my liking.

A tiger ran towards us bowing to us before raising us by our feet unto his back.

Xoc was reeling in shock and I quickly communicated with the animal telling him of our destination.

All of a sudden the tiger roared and I felt fear flash through me.

I had a flashback of things had never remembered doing.

A man was sitting on a throne. He looked like me in color and our hair color was the same. He was surrounded by animals of a different caliber.

He stroked a lion's mane and rubbed the belly of a white tiger in front of him before looking up to smile at the peacocks over him.

Then he muttered.

"So this is my new body".

I was brought back to the present time and Xoc was currently waving a hand at me.

"Aoooooouuuu"

I howled.

This was fun.

We were bounding across the plains, I checked my map and looked around for a sign to tell us we were almost there.

A huge wall cut into two was in front of us. Just as it was on the map.

This was majestic really.

Upon entering the border the lion stooped low and we slid off his back.

I patted him rubbing his mane before collecting my breaths.

The tiger ran off to only God knows where.

"Only a few miles remaining till we reach the gate to central"

"Come on we can't dally around"

Xoc finally had some respect for me as I showcased a few of my abilities.

Those were my only abilities.

My familiar hadn't given me any perks lately and I had a good feeling once we trod the grounds of Central that would change.

Whoever said a lion was the king of the jungle was. Well...

We were in front of the gate and the most bizarre thing happened.

I received a quest.

The fact I received the quest wasn't the bizarre thing but what the quest was.

[Become an adventurer]

[Reward; a new ability]

Xoc had gone to a nearby inn leaving me alone to explore.

I decided to buy one of their foods but then I remembered I didn't have any of their currency on me.

Xoc must be with it all.

Central's security wasn't really tight.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were thieves and crooks here.

I asked for directions to the adventurer's office getting some funny looks from civilians.

If you could even call these brutes that.

The adventurer's office was like a grand hall indeed.

With big bold letters writing A H on top.

Well, I was about to find out why my familiar was so persistent on me becoming an adventurer.

Wait, I have no money on me.

Oh well I just gave to hope registration is free.

But alas nothing in the world is free.
