16 A silly God

I look at him, the man he called Hades. "You're Hades?" I couldn't believe it.

"You know each other?" Hermes said with a confused tone.

But instead of answering both of our questions he just said. "What are you doing here?" he looks very angry and at the same time confused too.

"I brought her here so don't be hot-headed and mean to her? What did I teach you? Be kind to women! That's why no one likes you Hades!"

Hades glared at him and was about to say something but Hermes cuts him off. "Be nice!" He warned and Hades closed his eyes probably in annoyance.

"Leave," he said before walking away.

But I couldn't just let him walk away from me again! I mean with all of this information getting drilled in my head and the sudden revelation do you think I'll let him away?

I quickly stood up and ran after him, leaving Hermes that is standing between us with a confused look on his face.

"Wait!" I begged but he didn't stop walking.

"Please! Talk to me! You can't just tell me to leave after all of this?" I cried, "What am I to you? Why did you befriend me and suddenly vanish into thin air and when we saw each other again this thing happened?"

He stopped walking and look back at me, "You shouldn't be here," he said while shaking his head.

"You can't just tell me to leave! I've been here for the gods know how long without even a single clue or information on why I am here and what is happening!"

"Oooh! This is some nice tea," Hermes said while flashing a smirk as he bobs his head up and down.

"Shut up!" Hades growled and Hermes immediately burst into laughter.

And in the blink of an eye, Hermes is already out of my sight. I got confused, he was just literally in front of me saying things like "This is a nice tea." And now he is gone!

I look at Hades with a confused look and he immediately turned away from me. I felt a huge disappointment because of his treatment of me right now. I just don't get what is happening especially from the start. Why is this happening to me? Why am I going through these things that I don't have any knowledge about? Like why? Why?

I squealed to my surprise when there was a sudden gush of wind that flew right past me. Dust covered my sight and I couldn't help but cough, the dust is filling up my nostrils and eyes. I kept my eyes shut and waited till I couldn't feel nor smell the dust.

I used my hand to fanned the front of my face, hoping to get rid of the dust that is surrounding me while still closing my eyes.

"Hermes!" Hades shouted in annoyance as the dust is slowly drifting away.

My face turned into a sour mood when he is now laying on a sofa, laying like a model on a photoshoot with a cup of tea in his hand.

"Oh no! Don't mind me here, just keep on doing what both of you are doing," Hermes smirked. "I'm just here listening..." He said with a creepy grin as he sips on his tea.

"What the hell are you doing!?" Hades is already on the verge of exploding as he tries to look at Hermes laying casually on the sofa.

He looks so annoyed and angry while I'm here standing on the verge of exploding my head because of the confusion. But when I look at Hermes, I couldn't help but laugh. He looks like a huge spoiled-wimpy kid you see on the town daily.

"WHAT!? I'm just here, trying to know the tea that this young lady is spilling." Hermes pouted and I accidentally laughed.

"See? This beautiful young lady has enjoyment for me. So better do what you're supposed to do Hades, I might steal her." Hermes teased Hades, I look at Hades trying to see what his reaction would be but I couldn't see anything on his face except the annoyance that is clearly visible on his face.

"You better leave," hades menacingly Hades.

"Oh, Hades! You can't scare me! Trust me I've been so much worst than your threats!" Hermes pouted again and lifted his hand and started counting. "For example, Hera..." Hermes sighed, a very deep sighed.

"Zeus always uses me to avoid the wrath of Hera! And then I am the person that Hera is always confronting! I don't even know where Zeus is! I am the one who is being scolded even though I am innocent!"

"And oh! One time! She threatened me that she will turn me into of her crows if I don't tell where Zeus is!"

"Then what did you say to her?" I abruptly said to him and he looks at me.

He sighed, " Well I lied to her..."

"--But she knew that I was lying! And she really turned me into a crow!" Hermes cried. "That shit is one of the scariest shit that happened to me. I'd rather die than to be one of her pet crows!"

"Then what happened? How did you turn back into your normal form?" I asked again, I look back at Hades that is looking at me intensely. I gulped and just look at Hermes again who really looks passionate as he tried to tell me his story.

"Hm... My buddy Apollo helped me!" He exclaimed like a kid, I could see from the side of my eye, Hades is shaking his head.

"We threatened Zeus that we will tell Hera that she slept with a nymph," he recalled. "And Zeus was easily persuaded. Duh! Of course! He is scared of his own wife! And for god's sake! We are literally talking about Hera."

"That woman is crazy," Hermes said in a disappointed tone while bobbing his head from side to side.

I shrieked when Hermes suddenly screamed from the top of his lungs and ran towards where Hades is and hid from his back.

"What are you doing?" Hade is pissed as he tried to look at Hermes hiding on his back.

"I got some chills! I think H-Hera heard me!" He panicked.

"W-what?" I said nervously.

"It's just suddenly really got cold and something whispered to me!" Hermes panicked even more. "I'm so dead! I don't want to be a crow again!"

"That's because you called her crazy that's why," hades said emotionlessly.

"How could you say that calmly!?"

"It's because I didn't insult her, you did."

Hermes turned to me with his puppy eyes sparkling with tears. I squealed when he suddenly ran towards me and hug me. "WAAAAH! I don't wanna die!" He cried.

My face immediately turned red and started to heat as I stand there in the middle of confusion as Hermes is hugging me.

Hades walks towards us and my cheeks heated even more. He clutched the dress of what Hermes is wearing and he effortlessly lifted the weeping Hermes away from me.

"Do not touch her, you dimwit." Hades spat at Hermes and Hermes cried even more.

"I don't want to die!" Hermes exclaimed while shaking Hades shoulder.

"Then you shouldn't have insulted her, stupid." He said in a scornful tone.

"Can you let me stay here!?" Hermes pleaded and Hades expression immediately changed.

"No," Hades gave him a menacingly smile.

And then with that one answer from Hades, Hermes looks like he is already losing his will to live.

"Let me stay here! I am safe when I am here!" Hermes said, "They can't touch me here!"

"No," Hades answered immediately.

Hermes slipped out of Hades grasp and ran towards me again. "Could you please help me on Hades? Help me convinced Hades to let me stay here!" He pleaded.

My lips parted not knowing what to do. I look at Hades full of hesitation.

"Hades! Let me stay here! I'll just need to wait for Hera to calm down!" Hermes said to Hades and still, Hades looks unfazed.

"No."

Hermes looks at me, waiting for my backup. "Please!" Hermes pleaded to me again with his puppy eyes.

I gulped at look at Hades, "C-can you p-please let Hermes stay here?" I politely and modestly asked him.

We were surrounded by silence because of it, Hades didn't bother to say anything. He just stood there and I just stood there too, like a frozen statue waiting for the god in front of me to say anything.

"Fine," he said in defeat and look away.

I blushed and Hermes' screams of victory echoed through the walls. He is jumping while screaming from the top of his lungs on how happy he is that I saved his life.

I blushed when he suddenly put his arms around my shoulder, "I owe you my life! You're now my best friend!" He giggled like a child.

He stopped when Hades suddenly punched her, "I said don't touch her." Hades said with full of threat.

"Fine!" Hermes said in defeat. "But that won't change the fact that she is now my best friend. Right?" Hermes turned to me.

And I had no choice but to nod with a sly smile on my face.

"You put the gods to shame, acting childlike in front of a mortal," Hades said in a disgusting tone.

"Wow! I am ashamed of your actions too!" Hermes spat, "Saying yes immediately to a mortal? What are you??? A genie?"

Hades shot daggers of stare at him, "Leave!" he said.

"I'm just kidding!" Hermes said in defeat. "And I'm sure this young lady here doesn't want me to leave." He grinned.

I realize that Hermes is one of a handful of silly gods.
