16 Ilinalta's Deep

Ilinalta's Deep was easy enough to get to. Honestly it could've taken me a day or two to cross the lake if I didn't just go straight through the damn thing. It was a horribly long swim and I now had to huddle by some fire. However overall? It was worth the challenge. Acrobatics increased by 3. It was great. That did mean high acrobatics would mean faster travel time.

The downside of cutting straight through the lake, was it still had a good amount of time pass. Half the day was gone already. I was wet and still needed to climb a fucking mountain after I clear Ilinalta's Deep. I sighed, thankfully I wasn't cold at all. Meaning my high frost resistance was putting in the work.

Perhaps I should loot a corpse inside and change into there clothes. They had robes, it could be good to just stack a few. I had noticed realism was damned. I could theoretically l equip as much stuff as I wanted. I would just be weighed down more. I shook off whatever water I could from myself and kicked opened the trap door entering Ilinalta's Deep.

The place really was flooded, I couldn't image anyone actually living here. Yet I could hear some voices. I was met with the fisherman's skeleton. It was such a memorable entrance. I looked to the side and walked up the side of the main hall.

The first door on the second floor was barred, I knew that. However, one didn't need to go through that area. If i recall correctly, the second door led into an area called the deluge. It was basically a more collapsed area that led to two necromancers talking.

They appeared to be novices. I took out my bow and pulled back an arrow. It shot straight into the wall between them. They both jumped, "What the hell!"

I sighed, "Fuck." They had already turned to me. So i Dashed forward and jumping on one of them with my dagger. Stabbing into his neck, the other necromancer looked terrified. I grabbed them by the arm and threw them into the table.

Of course stabbed them in the neck too. It seemed people could be stunned into fear. I picked up the skill book on the table. I frowned as it now had blood on it. The skill book was the doors of oblivion. Conjuration. I didn't have much use for conjuration. I could pay for scrolls of any conjuration magic I needed. Not to mention the magic school was treated poorly since well. Necromancers were never really liked. That was why they were here and not at the College of Winterhold.

I found a couple of loose healing potions and moved to the next area. Another necromancer who was cleaning a bunch of prison cells. This time the arrow I shot didn't miss, but it hit him in the gut. He fell back. "Ah, Oh god! You won't get away with this!"

His hands began glowing and I shit another arrow and it hit his hand. "Fuck!" I shot another arrow and this time it killed him. Piercing his head. I felt a little bad, but I just stayed quiet. I was sure there was one more necromancer around this area. I opened up a door that lead into a staircase.

I snuck around the corners and found the last Necromancer I needed to kill. He was at an alter seemingly preforming an autopsy? He had a body in front of him however I couldn't tell what he was doing. I decided to ignore the man. He was complete turned away from me. So I moved quietly around him and up the stairs.

There was no door up the stairs so I decided to remain as quiet as possible as I walked up to a throne and a corpse. It was almost completely skeletal. The man had clearly mummified on the throne. This was Malyn and his gross flesh covered tome sat next to him. Picking it up I slipped it into my inventory. Due to the nature of the book I would read it on my journey to Morthal and burn the book once read.

Just holding the damn thing made me queasy. It really was made of some kind of flesh. I shook off my disgust and picked up the broken mess of Azura's star. My quest updated. However I didn't care at all about it. I knew what it wanted me to do. The star was in shambles and from it I could hear whispers.

I chucked the thing and all its pieces into my inventory and exited the sinking fort from a ladder next to the throne. Once I exited I could feel the difference in humidity. I opened my map. Time for the next step in my plan. I could handle the rest of the Azura's star quest later.

I took out my rope and pickaxe I bought. I started marching toward the mountain. I pinpointed the place I needed to climb to reach Bloated man's grotto. Time to start climbing.
