Xin Ying was surprised for a moment, but calmed down soon enough. He had read novels about situations like these before, so it doesn't really affect his mental state a lot. But then, he doesn't really mind being pulled into this...so called game either...
His life was quite...monotonous...so if something exciting like this happened...he had enjoyed the game, he can see why his sister like to play it. Even though he's not really into romance games, the Scenario Worlds included in the game has many other genres. Sci-fi, Fantasy, Mystery, Horror, Supernatural...
In short, he does not mind being in this world. But still...for his sister to accept this invitation without his consent...she didn't make a bad choice, but it would have been better if she had warned him. But then, he can't really blame her, it is her favorite game...she may have gotten too excited or something...ah...
Anyway, he should focus now. It seems like this is a Scenario World in which people have levels and abilities...is this a zombie apocalypse world? Or maybe just an ability users world...
And there's also the identity thing...so Xie Ye is the person he is? It says his real identity is hidden, so people in this Scenario World probably only knows his Xie Ye identity.
"Varieties of Scenarios" has multiple different worlds or stories you can choose from. The game has an uncountable number of worlds/stories. What's even more shocking is that they're all made by the same people!
If you compare the worlds/stories, you can see that some worlds/stories have similar or the same characters, while others may have totally different characters.
The creators were sure diligent with their work.
Xin Ying looked around the room, he's currently in a modern bedroom. He got up and wandered around for a while. After looking around, he went downstairs.
He didn't see anyone...but he did smell something.
It was the smell of blood and something rotten.
When he got in the kitchen, he saw two dead bodies...they seem to be the dead bodies of the original's parents? And...is that...
He's now sure that he's in a zombie apocalypse world. There's a motionless zombie corpse laying by the two dead bodies.
He just don't know which specific world he is in yet. There is a lot of zombie apocalypse themed worlds in "Varieties of Scenarios".
Right now, it seems like it is just the start of the apocalypse. There are still electricity and water running in the house, but they will most likely go out soon. He should start preparing now.
Xin Ying used the wind ability his character—identity? Or host?—already has to opened the cabinets and put the supplies into a nice duffel bag that looked unused.
After putting enough food, water, and clothes in the duffel bag that'll probably last him for a week or two, he went around and started looking for weapons.
The Xin family is a prestigious family, they are a business family, but they also mettle in military things. Every family member knows how to wield and properly use countless complicated weapons. Xin Ying was one of the best in his generation, so he was confident in finding a weapon he can use.
Xin Ying soon found knifes, ropes, a bat, and first aid kits. He even found a bunch of money and a strongbox. Inside the box was 10 Colt Army Model 1860 revolvers.
Ha. Just what does the original's family do? Why would they put these in such an obvious place? Are they involved in underworld businesses? Or perhaps they're just cautious people, but that's unlikely...
There has been nothing that can prove that the Xie family has anything to do with underworld businesses in the original's memories that Xin Ying inherited. But he still suspect it.
There are also a lot of bullets for the revolvers, there's enough to reload all the revolvers at least 10 times.
He have a duffel bag filled with food, water, and clothes, so what else? Hmm...he should get at least a few revolvers. As for ammunitions, the more the better.
Xin Ying went upstairs and found a backpack and a suitcase. He decided to resort everything.
After resorting, he scanned over what he had:
A backpack with food, water, and clothes that can last him for 15 days, 3 first aid kits, 3 revolvers, 6 boxes of ammunition, some knifes covered in black cloths, and 3 boxes of matches.
A duffel bag holding 7 revolvers, the rest of the ammunitions, and some more weapons.
And finally, a suitcase holding camping equipments, pots, more clothes, food, and weapons, and a campfire set.
'That should be about it.' Xin Ying thought, 'I should get moving now.'
He had decided to move out of the house. Xin Ying had saw knife marks on the three corpses, the bodies of the parents also didn't seem to have any signs of mutation.
Xin Ying has two guesses.
One, some people came in and tried to rob the place. The Xie family doesn't seem like a simple family, so people who killed the parents probably isn't simple either. The zombie might have came in the middle of the struggle.
Two, it was Xie Hua. Xie Hua is Xie Ye's sister. The Xie couple value males more than females, so they treated Xie Ye extremely well. Xie Hua, on the other hand, was ignored and shunned. They only cared for her to keep up a good reputation and because Xie Ye and Xie Hua has a good relationship.
The relationship between Xie Hua and her parents may seem only strained on the surface, but they actually severely hated each other. The Xies had their children attend a prestigious school for children from great and wealthy families. Xie Hua was bullied at school due to her lack of supportive background, while Xie Ye was better off as he is the official heir of the Xie family.
Xie Hua is about an year older than Xie Ye, so she could have been the heir, but the Xies insisted on the tradition of having the eldest son being the heir, and not giving their daughter a chance at all.
It would had made sense if Xie Hua was the one who killed their parents.
As for what role Xie Hua have...it seems like she was a side character in this world. She was killed by the male lead when her group was trying to steal rations from the mains' group. The male lead had swung his sword and ruthlessly decapitated her, then he threw her body to lead away a horde of zombies.
According to the system's information, the current him—Xie Ye—originally wasn't a character. Xie Ye's persona was prepared for him. In the original scenario world, Xie Hua didn't have a brother. In this version, Xie Hua had left her brother at the house, thinking that he would be safer there. She herself left with the group that broke in, as the group that broke into the house are actually Xie Hua's friends.
For Xie Ye's information...it seems like he had awaken his abilities on the very first day. Only his parents and Xie Hua knows abut his abilities. The parents are dead now, but Xie Hua is still alive, so only Xie Hua knows about his abilities.
Looking at the system...so, if Xie Hua died, would there be no one who knows his abilities? What would happen then? Would the abilities stay the same or will they change...?
Eh, whatever. He should first leave this house. The house is a big one, so there will probably quite a bunch of people here later to gather supplies.
Swinging on the backpack and picking up the duffel bag, Xin Ying left the house, dragging the suitcase with him.
