Prologue

"You know they are in love with you right?" Eleanor said to Abigael who didn't seem to believe her.

"How can my brothers-in-law be in love with me? I know Lucas and I share a special bond but it was this platonic relationship, which never crossed that level and no way in hell is Tariq in love with me" Abigael answered back in disbelief.

"It never crossed that level because you didn't allow it to" Eleanor replied as she continue;

"There's something you should know then Abigael"

"You are making me scared and angry Eleanor" Jasmine responded to her in a displeasing tone.

"10 years ago, the day before graduation which was also the day you got together with Menna, someone else was there that night, someone who would have reached there earlier to confess his feelings to you but I held him back.

"What are you saying Eleanor" No one was there that night, except Tariq who was drenched in mud and happen to be there because his car broke down. He was happy for us" Abigael said slightly confused now.

"A facial expression can say things that words can't, and if you think he was truly happy for you then I've got nothing more to say"

Upon hearing that Abigael had a flashback of the moment, she remembered hugging Menna under the heavy downpour of rain, then all of a sudden Tariq appeared breathless and drenched in water whilst holding flowers.

"What's happening here?" he asked but Menna jumped in gleefully before he could finish, telling him that u finally said yes to being her girlfriend.

I remember something that I didn't quite take notice of then. I saw Tariq demeanor dimished and his voice cracking, as if a cry was building up as he said "oh". I could remember seeing tears swell up his eyes and was about to ask why when Menna jumped and asked him who the flowers were for?

"You guys, I guess. officially being a couple. I brought them for someone but I missed her" he said as he avoided my gaze.

Present Day

"Holy Fucking shit, he meant me that day. I was the girl he missed" Abigael said in disbelief as she continued, "It makes no sense, Tariq was happily married" .

"Stop acting gullible Abigael, he's divorced and don't tell me you've never observed that he had a soft spot for you. We are talking about Tariq and he doesn't have a soft spot for anyone" Eleanor added as she looked at Abigael who was now more confused than ever.

"Tariq really is in love with me?", this is going to ruin their sibling relationship" Abigael said as she became lost in her thought.
