3 Prophesy

"You're finally here."

The words played in my head. Just what did he mean?

He read the confusion on my face and laughed a little as if to mock me. He got up and grabbed one of the books he brought in from earlier and flipped through some pages.

"Once every century a goddess comes to our world. She will be of great beauty and have the ability to control earth around her to her will."

He looked at me as if to check to see if that fit my description. Again, that disgusting smirk wormed it's way back on his face.

There was a bit of silence. I cleared my throat and leaned forward a bit.

"Ok... and why am I here?"

"Not sure. The books stop there. All I know is that it's my job to take you to the king to inform him of your arrival."

"Th-the king?"

"You act so surprised. Do you not have a king in your world to follow?"

I looked off to the side.

"Well, not really. It's more complicated then that."

"Then how does your world work? Do you just do whatever you want."

"Not exactly. There are some... rules and we are expected to follow."

He seemed really interested. That felt different to have. Most people could care less about America. If anything we're either feared or mocked.

He shook his head and stood up.

"We must start heading to the castle. The sooner I can get you out of my forest the better."

I watched him as he got a small bag and started putting some food and other materials into it. I just sat there helpless. I couldn't do anything. Putting the being tied up part aside, I had no idea where anything was or what we would need.

He paused for a second and looked at me. He looked as if he was contemplating what to do with me. He gave out a frustrated sigh and came over and started to untie me.

"Thank you," I said in a soft voice.

"You'll be useless if you're tied up."

"Oh," was all I could reply with that.

The ropes fell to my lap and I pulled them over me and dropped them on the floor. I was happy to rid of them feeling my arms less itchy. After satisfied with my reaction the man went back to preparing for our trip. And I still sat there not sure as to what to do.

I looked around the small house I was in. House wasn't the right work. More like cabin. It was dark and rustic with the only light being from the windows. For this being in the "dark forest" it was actually bright enough to see in here. Everything in here was pretty much made of wood. I guess that would be common in this kind of world.

I wanted to know more about my situation. I didn't get this whole prophecy thing. What was my purpose? I remember him saying he himself didn't know. But that smirk he gave me said otherwise.

My skin crawled at the thought. That smirk held bad intentions.

Could I really trust him?

"Hey!"

I looked over at him and jumped as he yelled for me.

"Let's start heading out. We have a long ways to go."

"How will we get there?" I asked getting up from the seat.

"Just follow me. And do exactly what I say. This forest can kill you in an instant."

I stayed silent as he stared at me. I finally got a good look at him. He had sharp features that made his pointy ears even more noticeable. His hair was a dark brown with blonde streaks here and there. They seemed to light up his dark look. I didn't know how to describe his clothes. They were simple and a little tight as if he's had the same kind of clothes for years.

I shook my head mentally slapping myself for thinking too much on something simple like that. He started heading out the door and I followed him. He threw the pack onto his back and pushed through the front door. He was nice enough to keep it open for me.

I stood there waiting for him to move when he went to a side of the house I never saw. And to my surprise there was a horse. A very beautiful one at that. I've never seen a horse in person before. It was black with a white stomach and hooves. It's fur was long and looked soft to the touch.

He jumped onto the horse and then looked at me. We were in silence for a bit before he groaned and jumped back off the horse.

"Have you ever been on a horse?"

I shook my head too scared to really say anything. He sighed and pinched the bridge between his eyes.

The horse moved and let out a tired sigh of its own and I jumped back. Before I could get far he grabbed my hand and held me there.

"Don't be afraid. They can sense fear. This is Ebony. She won't hurt you."

I looked at ebony and felt my legs stop shaking. The guy slowly brought my hand to her mouth and gently let me pet her. I completely loosened up.

"Good. She likes you. Now c'mon. We have a long ways to go."

"Wait!" I yelled stopping him from getting on.

"I've never been on a horse before. I don't know how to get on."

He quickly responded by grabbing my waist and lifting me up onto Ebony. I gasped at first and scream a little at the sudden motion. He was stronger then he looked.

After I got on he shortly came after sitting behind me. His arms wrapped around me to grab the reins. I felt my heart race a little. I've never been close to a man like this.

He yelled at Ebony a command to get her moving and she quickly started running off into the forest.
