45 Chapter 45 - Rescuing A Servant

[Emergency Task]

Objective;

Main - Eliminate all incoming Wyvern.

Side - No townsmen and soldiers died.

Dismissing the new task notification, Adam climbs up the wall surrounding the town and swaps his Ronson 5x5 for Hornet.

He slowly take a deep breath and exhale the warm air out from his lungs before his stance becomes rigid along with his whole body as the sniper rifle held next to his head as he aimed down the magnifying scope on the wave of wyvern while the onboard AI rapidly calculating everything and guide his stance as he aim to reduce the chance for miss to near zero.

[Hold The Line]

[Adrenaline Shot]

*BANG!* x30

Reload…

*BANG!* x30

Reload…

Rinse and repeat.

*Inhale* *Exhale*

Aim…

Shoot…

Reload…

Each shot exploded like a deafening roar of cannon. Each aimed perfectly at the head of the wyverns two and a half kilometers away. With the already high damage and piercing power being amplified more than double with Hold The Line skill, the wyvern's head burst like watermelon midair before the rest of the headless carcass falling to the ground.

His firing rate and reload also amplified with Adrenaline Shot skill which made his hands look like a blur when he aimed and reloaded. His shots sounded like it never stopped as the wave of hundreds of wyvern quickly dwindled down until only half of them left after Adam just started sniping for a few minutes.

Once [Hold The Line] duration ended, Adam lowered the sniper rifle and sighed in relief that the enemies were turning away. Fleeing in fear as none of them dared to approach the land of death where their head would burst apart like watermelon without any chance of survival.

But Adam was thankful. The attack just now is very physically and mentally draining. To move rapidly to aim, shoot and reload. All while maintaining an extreme focus achieved with the help of his Nanosuit.

"I feel tired as shit." Adam sighed as he sat down on the wall with his rifle slung on his shoulder. But then he heard a sound. *Growl* Adam started as his stomach for a moment before saying, "Hungry too…" He sighed again and opened his Inventory, hoping he had some food stored in here somewhere.

As he grabs a hold of a bag of gummy bears that he probably forgot to give to Alice, he notices his minimap has several dots approaching his position. They are labeled as yellow dots, neither an ally or enemy. Until they show their intention, he best be wary.

Holding a handful of gummy bears, Adam disengages the suit on his head so he can eat while he looks at the approaching group.

"The Chaldean, huh?" Adam noted as he spotted the iconic duo, female Ritsuka or Ritsuko and Mash. Then they are accompanied by the infamous mama of Chaldea, Archer Emiya, Caster Cu who should have been lancer but then again Lancer Cu is cursed with bad luck, Artoria Pendragon and lastly Jeanne D'Arc.

The Master of Chaldea has better luck than him on the beginner roll to get Archer and Artoria. He remembered how much reroll he had to do inorder to get Artoria. It's hell.

Anyway, back to the story.

"Told you he is a human. No way a golem can do something like that. But I don't think he is a Servant though." Ritsuko said as she excitedly rushed up to the wall while Mash and Artoria panicked for their Master's lack of wariness.

Except for Ritsuko, Mash and Jeanne. The other three are extremely wary of Adam and ready to kill him dozens of times over with how some of them have their hand twitching and hover above their weapon ready to fight.

"This is a pain in the ass." Adam mutters loudly without bother to conceal his thoughts on the treatment he gets even if it's not unjustified.

"Well, you guys are good people right?" Adam asked but didn't give them a chance to reply as he continued. "There are some survivors hiding in the town. I leave them to you people." Adam said before his head encased again in his Nanosuit and engaged Cloaking mode like a chameleon vanishing from the sight of the Chaldean.

"What! I'm not the only one seeing this right? That's so cool! Like the futuristic armors I saw from sci-fi games!" Ritsuko drooled and wished to capture that unique Servant into her collection. Although, she is the only one thinking so.

"I am afraid that person is not a Servant. He has no Saint Graph or even Mana." Doctor Romani interjected which made Ritsuko deflated and lost all her enthusiasm.

"But why did he leave though? He looks like a good guy if he kills those wyverns and protects the townsmen." Ritsuko turns around and asks the Servant. Jeanne turns her head away when being stared at and glanced at the real culprit, the overprotective Emiya, the battle hungry Caster Cu and the Artoria… she just did her job as required to protect her Master. So, the culprit is Emiya and Cu Chulainn Caster.

"Still, this does not add up. If the person a moment ago isn't a Servant. Then who is he? This time period shouldn't have modern firearms much less a futuristic mech suit." Doctor Romani wondered.

"Could you find him, Archer?" Ritsuko asked and Artoria also nodded as she turned to Emiya who she remembers has a good nose like a hound.

Emiya felt offended that they think of him like that but order is an order. He tried to sense first with his hearing because the armor looks like it has invisibility only which means he still can hear his footsteps and smell his scent. But unexpectedly he couldn't hear anything or could smell his scent. He can smell the scent of gummy bears on top of the wall but his smell ends on the spot where he put back on the helmet.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't trace him at all, Master." Emiya quickly admitted his failure to complete the order.

"Heh, how incompetent are you, Archer." Caster Cu laughed and mocked Archer before he used his rune to trace Adam.

"Oh, Primordial Runes." Doctor Romani and Da Vinci instantly recognised the Magecraft used by Caster Cu.

"Indeed, I can create a Rune that can trace him." Caster Cu said proudly as the rune was reaching completion but the moment it did, the rune suddenly went out of control and fizzled out.

Of course it wouldn't work. With Concept Null, even power that Adam isn't aware of but targeting him can be negated.

"Snrk…" Archer snorted as he laughed at Cu who boasted highly only to fail. He turned his face away while holding his laugh.

Caster Cu could only endure this shame and swear his rune worked as intended but Adam did something to it and caused it to fail. He blamed this grievance on Adam for embarrassing him.

After Adam left La Charite. He was heading to Lyon while depending on the already stored data from modern Earth GPS data to guide him around the places. The location should remain the same right?

While walking, Adam was bored and he asked some questions to his System to kill some time.

"I wonder if the Interdimensional Contract is really random though. Last time I needed an army and you sent me to Black Bullet world and rescued the Cursed Children. This time I need a way to kill the Dragon Grimm and you send me here specifically." Adam asked.

[...]

[The system cannot leak confidential data.]

"Hmn. Fine, your denial is enough to answer me." Adam just hummed and continued to delve into his thoughts. "Still, I wonder if I should meddle with the Chaldeans. I basically know most of the events that will unfold in this singularity."

"Ah! I also want to get both

Jeanne. They are two of my favorite waifus from FGO."

"Hmn… But I didn't have mana because of my Semblance. How should I sustain them then?" Adam thought of it as he can form a contract as he can control his Semblance to not affect the contract. But his own Mana is impossible because his very Aura is infused with his Semblance effect and spreads throughout his body and becomes incapable of having Mana.

[Although the System indeed should help Host dispel his doubt and confusion. Please don't abuse the System to get answers to every solution.]

[The System encourages the Host to explore himself instead of going down the path of an abusive Host.]

"Me? Abusive for asking questions? This is a slander. I demand a lawyer to sue you for defamation." Adam deadpanned before he couldn't keep his straight face anymore and laughed.

[...]

[The System is being serious.]

"So am I." He replies with an eyes roll.

Suddenly, Adam halted his marching and put on a cloaking when he sensed the presence of wyverns. Thousands of them flying past him.

Adam remembers that in the game, Siegfried was at the verge of dying and cursed from an ambush made by Jeanne Alter and her underlings.

"He might be in trouble!" Adam quickly sprinted while using Adrenaline Shot to occasionally increase his movement speed and switch his Nanosuit from Cloaking to Speed mode once he was under the cover of the nearby woodlands. He must save the dragon slayer and recruit him.

Meanwhile in Lyon, a lone knight fights to defend a town but fails due to the siege of 3 different Servants.

"Arrthurrrr!" A mad knight shrouded in black and creepy miasma charged relentlessly with unnatural rage at the lone knight.

*Slash* *Clang!*

The knight was pushed back and lost against the mad knight's strength. He looked at the other two Servants that were uninterested to participate in the battle and simply watched on the side.

"If I continue to fight, I will lose. If I flee, I will be hunted down, huh." The knight felt grim at his prospect of survival.

"Arrrthuu-"

*Bang!*

A crisp snap echoed through the grassy plain, shocked the four Servants and the mad knight had a hole blown through his head and fell to the ground.

More shots fired on the Servants except the lone knight and especially the one Servant that wielded a bow and fired arrows in retaliation of the attack.

Then six SAS operators, three look basic with classic black themed tactical gears and common guns meanwhile the other look more 'elite' with customized tactical gears and guns that isn't limited to ballistic firearms unlike the previous group. These six SAS operators rushed out from the treelines and attacked the two Servants as they wordlessly approached the lone knight, bagged him and retreated as quickly as they revealed themselves.

The Servant wielding the bow wanted to give chase but the moment she tried to approach the woods the shooter was hiding in, thirty super accurate shots would be flying towards her head.

"Let it be. The number of enemies is unknown. We better retreat for now. The mission is a failure." The other servant that looked like a heavily sexualized and classic anime nun, holding a golden cross-staff told her companion to not give chase and retreat.

Siegfried was as confused as anyone when they suddenly got lifted and carried away like a victim of a kidnapping incident. However, he cannot feel any hostility and malice from these people. In fact, he didn't even think they are real living people and more like a mana construct like a magical familiar similar to Servants, constructed from some form of energy but not Mana and they probably have no intelligence either.

Suddenly they stopped in the middle of the woods and put him down gently. Then they stood there idly while keeping watch of the surroundings. Siegfried thought they were waiting for their creator or something and indeed as moments later, someone climbed down the tree he was resting on.

"Greetings, I am Seigfreid. I am very thankful for the help." Siegfried said to the man in a weird suit of armor.

"Your welcome, Seigfreid. I am Adam White and I have a weird request to ask of you." Adam disengaged his helmet before he talked.

"Hnh. Of course, you are my benefactor after all." Siegfried adjusts his posture to sit straighter as he can feel stinging pain from his injuries. "However, I don't think I am in a state that could offer any help. I received numerous injuries and also a few curses from fighting those Servants."

Adam frowned a little and approached Siegfried and asked to see the injuries. He can fix them after all with his Medic skills.

Siegfried revealed the numerous cuts and stabs he received as the results of curses negating his Dragon's Blood blessings. Adam laid Siegfried on the ground and started applying his First Aid skills on the smaller cuts and stabs that weren't deep or close to any vital organs.

Meanwhile Siegfried was surprised and stared wide-eyed at Adam. He sensed Adam wasn't using Mana, in fact his body contains none which is not only impossible as anything with soul is capable of generating Mana no matter how insignificant it is. Adam however, is an anomaly. He uses his own soul like Mana without injuring his Soul.

Using soul as Mana isn't something unusual. All Magus are capable of using their soul as a prize to cast spells. However, those are normally done in an emergency. Not something casual like this because doing so will of course, harm the soul. But not Adam for some reason. In fact, now that Siegfried looks carefully, Adam's soul is different. Not contained in his mortal vessel and instead were liberated.

"Hmn. Your injuries are fine now. I healed everything. But the curse I have no idea how to lift them." Adam said and tapped Seigfreid's chest to tell him the treatment is done.

"Thank you very much. This much is already good enough." Siegfried checked his body satisfied that there is no more injury and he is back to 100%.

"So, what is this favor you asked of me before?" Siegfried asks and is more willing to help after being helped twice by Adam.

"I am actually not from this world or universe. I came from another world called Remnant which is dealing with a catastrophe. A giant dragon was awakened by a villain to destroy the world. I am here in another world in order to find someone or something that can kill the dragon." Adam confessed the truth. He hopes that his sincerity can reach Seigfreid. As for the secret, he didn't need to worry as Siegfried is a trustworthy person.

"I see. The reason you are looking for me is because I am a dragon slayer." Siegfried nods as he can understand why Adam was looking for him if he had such a problem. "Then I will not hesitate. You have helped me twice and now I feel obligated to help you. Besides, I am a stray Servant. I will either die from lack of Mana or be hunted down by those Servants sooner or later."

"Then you agree to be my ally then?" Adam asks as the System immediately sends Siegfried a screen asking if he agrees to Adam's recruitment or not.

Siegfried didn't question the weird screen that popped in front of him and tapped 'Yes' on the screen. The moment he did, he immediately felt a Master Servant bond forged by the System between him and Adam. He can immediately feel the strange Soul energy flowing into his body to invigorate him and also purge the curses due to the energy's unique effects.

Siegfried can identify the unique effects of Adam's Aura which shocked him. The curses inflicted to him was devoured away by Adam's Aura and would devour his own vessel made of Mana too but was stopped by a strange force. However, if he uses this energy to his advantage. He can imbue his attack with the same energy that will erode any supernatural power he comes in contact with.

"Hmn. It seems I have become your Servant, Master. I will introduce myself once again. I am Siegfried, the Dragon Slayer that felled the Evil Dragon Fafnir. I pledge the service of my blade to you, Master." Siegfried reintroduced himself with a proper greeting.

"Just call me Adam. I had enough people calling me Master that I felt it's gay for a male to call me like that…" Adam said and mumbles towards the end in a contemplative and disgusted look.

"If that's your order M- Adam…" Siegfried agreed understandingly after seeing the expression Adam made even though he didn't really understand the logic behind his reasons.

"Anyway, let's go. I will fill you in about the information of this singularity and what we must do along the way." Adam told Siegfried to follow as they are on their way to square off with Jeanne Alter.

Siegfried is the only one that can defeat Fafnir in this Singularity. He can't just steal him away and leave the Chaldean to deal with the rest themselves. Also, Adam can only return after the Singularity is resolved and he doesn't have the luxury to spend much time here. He must return to Remnant as soon as possible before the Dragon Grimm destroys Vale.
