Chapter Six: Training Gear

Corwyn walked into the smithery, passing various smiths working or moving through the facility and soon reached the small space he called 'home'. The cubby had become his living situation, and he'd become something of the 'in-home smith' in the three weeks he'd been learning the trade. While his small chest filled with 878,000 Valis might sound like a lot, that wasn't much in totality. He might be able to rent out an apartment for 200,000 Valis a month, but his food and materials bill would only start getting larger. He was happy with his in-house free housing, as it left him with a fat wallet that was soon going to see itself start getting emptied.

He had twenty-one charges all saved up. Twenty-One charges that he'd been thinking on how to use. Placed at the far corner of the cubby was a bag full of clothing. Spare clothing and clothing he was thinking on Enchanting to create a different set of gear that he'd be using to prepare himself for the Dungeon.

In the three-weeks of smithing, he'd also been making several trips around the market, trying to find Uncommon, or even Rare items that he could snag with his light pouch.

Thankfully, he'd struck big on a few items.

His next set that would be used to assist his training would be as follows.

A pair of 'Rare - Alf Forest Elven Cotton Pants'. These were cheap as he suspected they were being fenced. They were obviously made for a woman, but a quick snip of some scissors and he'd made some 'Rare - Alf Forest Elven Cotton Short Shorts'. The remaining cotton also met his scissors and was made into 'Rare - Alf Forest Elven Sweat Band' and 'Rare - Alf Forest Elven Leg Warmers'. For his feet, he'd purchased some 'Uncommon - Lava Sheep Bandages' and created some 'Uncommon - Lava Wool Foot Wraps' and 'Uncommon - Lava Wool Hand Wraps'. Lastly was some scrap iron carefully weighed in and forged into a large selection of lifting weights. He had one steel barbell, two dumb-bells, one kettle-bell, and two large weights for the barbell.

His fellow smiths asked several questions on what he was making, but Corwyn had just stated it was for the future.

The last item he'd procured, was actually an Epic!

'Epic - Goblet of Bloodstone'. It was an old goblet being sold by a traveling merchant, and the man had said a poor family had sold it to him for shillings, but people said it gave a 'strange feeling' and was willing to sell it for cheap.

The goblet certainly did give strange feelings, but it was once thing further that made him willing to buy it.

For The Blood God: When sacrificed blood, the blood inside will stay fresh and will not dry or degrade. The person who's blood was sacrificed will gain a great regeneration factor, able to shrug off fatal wounds and keep fighting. This effect is only present when near the Goblet. The more wounded and near death the sacrificed holder is, the more rage and feral thoughts will fill their mind.

It was interesting to know that there were other items in this world that could be enchanted to such a level. The item itself was also perfect for something he'd had in mind.

Corwyn first grabbed his 'Rare - Alf Forest Elven Cotton Short Shorts'. He inspected the enchantments he had for the item and grabbed a single enchantment three times.

Supreme Exercise: This item is the Supreme of Exercise. Physical Exercise is guided to optimal results both mechanically and biologically, the entire body is tempered and refined to an extreme degree while wearing this item. Moving and walking itself will become an exercise of agility, strength, control, and balance. These shorts guide and teach the one wearing them how to Grind to the Supreme!

Then he grabbed his 'Rare - Alf Forest Elven Sweat Band' and took three more enchantments.

'Rare - Alf Forest Sweat Band of Focus and Extreme Will'.

Focus: You will be able to focus and keep your attention on the matter at hand with this item on. This can cause Tunnel Vision, so be careful!

Extreme Will: This item is the Extreme of Will. Your Will is that of Steel. You may bend, but break? Only under the harshest of pressures, yet that is how a man grows. While wearing this, you will bend, you might break, but you will always be able to pick up the pieces and forge yourself into a stronger steel.

He picked up his 'Rare- Alf Forest Elven Leg Warmers.' He picked three enchantments and got to town.

'Rare - Alf Forest Leg Warmers of Healing, Rest, and Arete'.

Healing: While wearing this, your body's natural healing ability is increased! Make sure to eat plenty!

Rest: Your mind and body need rest, with this, this is reduced to an hour at most.

Arete: Excellence! Potential! This enchantment allows one's potential to start coming to realization while wearing this item!

He picked up his 'Uncommon - Lava Wool Handwraps.'

'Uncommon - Lava Wool Handwraps of Grip and Handling'

Grip: Your grip is firm and unyielding. This improves your grip strength significantly.

Handling: Your skill with handling items is improved moderately. Your hands and arms are steady.

He then picked up his 'Uncommon - Lava Wool Footwraps'

'Uncommon - Lava Wool Footwraps of Balance and Sure Foot' 13

Balance: Your center of balance is refined while wearing this.

Sure Foot: Your foot knows when and how to adapt to sketchy ground and foot holds. You have a slight intuition and foresight if your foot will slip on the next step.

Eight charges left.

He got up from his cubby and left to where he stored his workout equipment. Finding the gear, he grabbed his barbell and enchanted the 'Common - Steel Barbell'.

'Common - Steel Barbell of Gains'

Gains: While using this piece of equipment, the user will have increased gains when recovered.

He then spent two charges to upgrade the Barbell, bringing it up to Uncommon. This dropped him down to five, but the already present enchantment was twice as strong as it was before. Something that all enchantments had for their equipment.

He then spent three Charges on the Barbell, bringing it up to Rare. This was its cap, it could go no further via Upgrades.

With two more Charges, he spent them all on Gains.

'Rare - Steel Barbell of Supreme Gains'

Supreme Gains: After using this piece of equipment, the user will have supremely increased gains when recovered.

Out of charges, Corwyn sighed and looked to his remaining equipment, knowing he'd be spending Charges on them for a while. Then he also needed to add a few enchantments to the Bloodstone Goblet to give it some more functionality than a 'mere' regeneration boost.

With a sigh, Corwyn went to his cubby and fell asleep for the day.
