10 Chapter 8: Change of Plans
I simply stood there, staring at that long cyan coloured tongue, It was dripping with drow sometimes, and I noticed that It ocasionally twitched...
But...
That wasn't the thing that caught my attention. What was really bugging my mind is How Did I suddenly got a tongue? I'm certain that I didn't even have a thing that resembled a tongue...
Hmmm...
Now that I think carefully about It, This thing appeared after I ate that bettle's tongue, and I can't forgot that 'evolution Complete' voice... It sounded exactly like myself, but with a cold and emotionless tone.
From the looks of It, It seems that I acquired the same abilities regarding tongues from that beetle... So, this means that I have the ability to copy the characteristics from the beings that I eat...
But unfortunately, I'm feeling slighty disconfortable, and I don't even know why... Strange, I should feel happiness and excitement for discovering this skill from my New reincarnation but... I feel nothing but this gloomy sensation...
But Right now, thinking about These trivial things is only a waste of time and energy. I should get used to this new ability and Focus on finding a safe and reliable water & food source...
After declaring my objective, my thoughts became more clear and I could finally get rid of that gloomy feeling. But before heading Out, I decided to stay a bit more on the cavern for two reasons...
The first is to wait for that Beetle to get out of this place, I don't want to Head out Just to be insta-killed by that beast, and the second is to get used to my New tongue and do a couple of Tests around it.
I need to know How to shoot this thing with the same speed and accuracy as the beetle. So I started to practice...
Well, this surely is hard. After countless minutes, I finally managed to get the hang of it. Althrough my first experiments resulted with my tongue licking the ground, I still took notes and Always tried to improve It.
Now, I can somewhat shoot it out of my mounth but the problem is that My aim and countrol sucks, so I Will Probaly miss over 90% of my targets.
Conclusion. There is no way for me to use this as a hunting mechanism. Why? Firstly it seens that I'm way too small to catch any prey with it and my Aim is terrible, so It's only an useless ability for now. I wished that my new tongue had a Sharp and hard end on It for me to use it to pierce my enemies at a safe distance... But Oh well, I Will surely find an use for It.
I take deep breaths (with my skin) and Prepare my antennae. At First I felt hesitant since I couldn't know If that beetle monster has already left or is still around, waiting for his vengeance.
But I decided to throw my caution to the wind. Staying here forever isn't the best plan and I shouldn't be scared of dangers. So I started to walk slowly and carefully towards the cavern's exit, doing my best to not make any sound.
When I finally arrived at It, I still didn't low my guard even by a little bit! I first sticked my antennae before getting out of the cavern. After sensing Nothing with them, I slowly sticked out my Head... Right Now it's finally Morning and Using my eyes, I scanned the surroundings, Making sure that I didn't leave any detail!
Now, It should Probaly be safe. But even so, I didn't dare lower my alertness even by one bit! I can't afford to ignore any possible dangers. And then, after finally walking out of my temporary shelter, I started to walk towards the Forest, Staying in this open field is dangerous since I become an easy target, so hiding myself in the forest seens like the best option for now.
But Just after I took my steps, My antennae caught the presence of another being. And guess who It is? It's the Monster beetle that almost killed me... And he's Probaly really ticked by the fact that I ate his tongue. But thanks to my luck, he wasn't at the cave's entrance by The time I got out.
Tsk...
I should plan this carefully. If that thing notices me, then I'm dead. I could already feel my heartbeat getting quicker but suddenly all of my worries and feelings disappeared. Only to be switched by emptiness. My increasing heartbeat slowly return to It's former calmness.
Right Now... there is only one thing in my mind...
Survive!

Annoying but really lound buzzes were bothering the serene silence of the rocky plains. The Huge RhinoCeros Alien beetle is surely in Rage, His tongue got cut off by a mere weakling prey that Didn't even tried to face him in the eye and, althrough It wouldn't cripple him, losing a part of his tongue Will surely make It more difficult for him to hunt and attract mates.
He's pissed off, and his newfound anger wouldn't allow him to let that weakling bug to escape from his anger. But, the weakling bug didn't appear for hours... Further increasing the fury of the beetle.
But...
He failed to notice the quick but almost soundless shadow that passed him, that presence did they best to not be noticed. The beetle seemed to sense something but he couldn't find nothing, so after a couple of stares, he gave up and continued with his search.
And by a couple of meters of him... glued in a tree's trunk, stood the figure of Michael. He was coldly staring at the beetle that couldn't even find traces of him.
He calmly stood there. Looking at that beetle, and there wasn't any person that could read his Crazy thoughts.
Michael did Indeed escape from the bug, but who Said that he would give up?

I silently watched the beetle's stupid and fruitless actions, while thinking about How Will I be able to enjoy all that Meat... Actually no, Just no... I was indeed interested in the New source of food but... I wanted to test some things. Will I be able to get new upgrades If I eat him?
And one thing, I shouldn't be talking like It has already fallen in my grasp. Actually, If I'm not careful that thing can easily end my life.
This is troubling, How can I kill it since I'm so weak...
But while I stood there, Lost in my thoughts. My antennae sensed something that made a light lamp appear at the top of my head.
Hehe, If I can't kill It myself then why not making something else do the job?
When I finished my plan, I couldn't stop myself from grining like a mad man (That's If I can even grin with this body)
My New acquired tongue subconscionsly came and licked my jaws...
Heh...
This is going to get Crazy...
