15 Chapter 13: Out of the chrysalis

laying down on the ground, stood a corpse. the dried blood, terrible wounds and the decomposing flesh, easily made the entire scene brutal enough. Signs from the violent battle beetween two feral beasts could be seen everywhere. Such as the bloody chunks of meat and markings. Anyone could see that this wasn't merely a fight, It was a gruesome battle to the Death

The corpse's frame was also filled with a cyan coloured liquid that released a pungent smell. And within It's chest, there was a cyan pupae. It stood still in a fetal position, but If one looked closely they would be able to notice a slight twitch and movement. That Pupae started to tremble with even more intensity, cracks were constantly being formed while the creature inside did It's best to escape.

His right arm broke through the pupae revealing a new formed blade that seemed even more dangerous than before. The cracks extend from the arm's rupture point towards the entire pupae, and two pairs of glowing cyan eyes were finally regaining their activity...

------------------------------------

A noticeable bulge could be seen growing in size within the corpse's chest and along with it came a sharp blade that pierced it's way through. And by using his armblade as support Michael tore through his temporary shelter bringing along with him pieces of decaying meat & blood. Landing with his six powerful legs Michael stood with a newfound feel on his being. His body looked bulkier and more developed while his size had obviously increased. While Michael still had that naivety in his eyes one could notice a slight change on his demeanor.

What exactly changed? Not even himself had a clue...

Michael stood completely still. Nothing could be seen within those pupiless eyes of his. With a unfocused gaze Michael turned his head towards the black beast's corpse.

I did this? Michael thought as he looked at his blade-like arms. He could faintly remember some scenes from that battle... After taking a couple of breaths through his exoskeleton he finally managed to straight his disorganized mind. Before Michael could even think he had already started walking away from this small "battlefield" of his. His head subconsciounsly turned upwards making his pupiless eyes stare deeply at the starry sky.

Just like the blackness of this dark sky, his heart was blank. he felt...

Amused.

Yeah. That's the right word, merely amused. It felt amusing seeing him behave like some child who got a opportunity. "With the mind of a beast and the heart of a human"? This is simply funny, it gives him the urge to just laugh like a mental hospital's patient. And it's not like Michael never knew of such thing, In fact he knows it way too well. He just didn't want to stomp on his little dreams and hope. This is simply what he does the best, run and hide like a coward.

Strangely enough, normaly when Michael had such thoughts he would just feel like shit and become depressed but now... He felt disdain towards himself. Yes! Disdain. Michael knows himself the best, he is aware that he is a person that simply doesn't feel like having the qualifications to be arrogant yet here he is. Feeling disdain for the first time, in fact it actually wasn't his first. He had already felt such emotion before when he arrived in this place.

But what about his parents? And his humanity? Michael is scared.

...

But indifferent.

He doesn't know what to do anymore. His mind is a mess. He feels like two people at the same time. Is he going crazy from the loneliness? Although becoming crazy from such trivial thing is pathetic. Michael continued marching until he subconsciounsly stopped. He was now just at the shore of a river. He breathed the humid air as he felt the currents of cold air bath in his exterior. Michael looked at his blades once more before focusing his gaze on the picture that revealed itself on the river's crystaline waters.

The pale silver moonlight shined brightly as it reached the calm watery surface with its touch, slowly mirroing the image from it's observer. As the light washed its darkening white exoskeleton painted by cyan stripes, Its six compound eyes gazed indifferently. With its pair of cyan antennae that would ocasionally twitch and swing it surely revealed such "thing" wasn't willing to lower its guard even by one bit. Looking mouthless although if observed more closer faint outlines could be seen in its lower jaw. This creature, this "thing"

Felt just like an insect. With such emotionless gaze which seemed to also hold contraditory emotions, Michael stared at his own reflection calmly.

Deep inside, he felt that something important just left him forever... A part of him was feeling restless and despaired.

While the other?

The fact that his eyes are smiling with pleasure should already tell you the answer...
