Day 4

I'm noticing far less people outside. Less and less people are out since I first came here. It has only been a couple of days, but this village has taken a sudden turn. I'm still unsure of what's happening besides me being the black sheep.

I visited the sheriff in the morning. He didn't want me investigating any more. He said that it was a mistake and that the culprit was the third child, Alex. I told him that it was very unlikely for a small child to kill two other children the same size as him and somehow drain all of the blood inside of them. But the sheriff wasn't listening. He wanted me to leave the village. I told him that I will leave to report my findings once I finish the investigation.

The sheriff argued with me still going on about how the Alex was the murderer and the case was closed. He shut up when I told him that if I left and reported to the Inquisition that the whole village was filled with dark mages, they would have the whole village burned down. There was a small silence before he sent me on my way. He let me stay here as long as I need, but I doubt I'll be getting any help from him or his police force.

I went back to the port to see if any of the ships have arrived. No luck.

I'm currently at a dead end. I don't have any evidence of some kind of dark mage. I know there has to be one, but I have to bring back some proof. It would be even better if I found the mage, myself. I could only imagine what kind of reward the Inquisition would give for bringing back a dark mage dead or alive.

I went back to the orphanage, but it seemed to have been closed down. Ms. Brokers was nowhere to be found. Typical. Not even the sheriff knows where she went. I sneaked into the orphanage, but the basement that I found last time, still wasn't there. There was nothing left to find at the orphanage.

No good leads as of yet. Perhaps some sleep can give me some ideas.
