10 To the Martial Arts Tournament

Training Island

Eight months have passed during the training regimen on Training Island. During those eight months, Inosuke, Goku, Krillin, and Chi-Chi have adhered to their schedule set by Muten Rōshi, as well as squeezing out all the additional training they could in their spare time. Inosuke and Goku's understanding of basic social skills has increased a bit with the help of Roshi, Inosuke during those eight months without knowing why, whenever Roshi tried something perverted with Launch he inadvertently avoided it leaving the hermit disappointed.

Four months on the regimen, and Roshi offered 60-kilo shells to the two Sayajin, who happily accepted it. Krillin and Chi-Chi when they saw that, they tried with the 40 kilos but they still did not succeed so they continued with the 20 kilos. For the next four months, they would continue as usual.

In all those eight months, Inosuke and Goku did not miss a day of their daily fight and they have each had 100 victories and 40 draws in their 8 months of training.

Students will wake up to continue their routine, only to learn that today is Tenka'ichi Budōkai day.

Training Island, Tenka'ichi Budōkai Morning.

Inosuke and Goku woke up from their dreams and started dressing five minutes before the alarm. Goku had acquired a light blue gi similar to the one he had before his adventure in search of the Dragon Balls, while Inosuke had pants the same as Goku's but the size of him even with the bear fur on his waist and his wristbands of the same fur. After getting out of bed, ready to tackle their training, they donned their respective 60-kilogram shells, ready to go to work. Krillin rushed out of the house, also donning his now 40 kilogram shell, and greeted the two of them.

"Hi guys!" Krillin clapped, seeing his now best friends as early as him. "Ready to start?"

"We always are!" Inosuke replied with a smile, ready to face the day. "I want another heavier shell today."

"We'll have to see what Muten Rōshi has in mind," Chi-Chi added, looking around her only to see no visible sign of the hermit. "Where is he anyway?"

"We get up early, so maybe we'll get over his alarm?" Goku speculated. "We could go get the milk cartons to deliver while you sleep."

"Go!" Inosuke said as he ran out of the Kame House.

The other three could only smile at that and went after him.

The four of them proceeded to run towards the warehouse where the milk was kept, but when they approached the building, Muten Rōshi was standing in front of them in a flawless black suit and hat.

"I had a feeling you kids would get up so early," said the well-dressed Kame-Sennin, seeing his eager students ready to carry out the handover. "I'm afraid you won't be making deliveries today, and until further notice. Today is the day of Tenka'ichi Budōkai".

The four of them gasped, grinning widely. "Actually?!" all four asked simultaneously. Rōshi nodded to confirm, and the four of them jumped into the air with joy.

In the passage of 8 months Chi-Chi had lost much of her shyness and developed in her a real taste for training.

"How about you four try to jump again, but without those heavy shells on your back?" Rōshi asked. "Let's see how far you've come these last few months."

The four of them took a second to wonder what the old master had in mind, and then they slid the heavy shells from their backs, landing with four resounding blows to the ground. With this heavy load off their shoulders, they looked at themselves in amazement.

"I feel so light!" Inosuke spoke, now unhindered by the shell. He did not wait for the others and jumped.

And he was surprised to jump 600 meters. "I'm flying, I'm amazing" she said with a big smile of pride as she fell towards the ground again.

Seeing that everyone else was shocked. "Well, what are you three waiting for?" Rōshi demanded.

The three of them proceeded to jump as high as they could, and to their surprise, they had easily surpassed 300 meters with their jump with Goku jumping just as high as Inosuke suspended in midair for a good few seconds, and proceeded to descend back to the land, landing lightly and gracefully.

"That was unbelievable," Inosuke exclaimed and jumped up again.

"That fall should have shattered my legs!" Krillin exclaimed, inspecting his legs. "It doesn't hurt at all!"

"I felt like a feather" he said with a Chi-Chi smile.

"This is the result of the training" Goku said in a low voice as he clenched his fists very satisfied that he had come to train with Roshi.

"If the simple act of jumping has surprised you at what you can do now, then you should see what you can do in the tournament," Rōshi added, noting his students' amazement at his new strength. "I'll say it again just in case: Don't let the prospect of winning cloud his mind. You don't fight to be better than others, you fight to be better than yourself".

The four of them nodded, Inosuke and Goku especially since they now understood what Kame-Sennin meant, thanks to their tutoring sessions from Roshi. "So, are we going now? I already want to be the strongest in the world"Asked Inosuke.

"Very soon, boy," Rōshi replied with a nod. "We still have some time before we catch our flight, so how about breakfast?"

Breakfast was satisfying for everyone, skipping the show that was the utter destruction of portions of Goku and Inosuke, and they all dressed in travel clothes as per Muten Rōshi's instructions, wearing gray suits and hats. Inosuke wouldn't have put them on for nothing, but it was Launch who did and he didn't know why but he couldn't turn her down. The four of them took a moment to laugh at each other about their outfits. Launch, in his sweet state, had chosen to stay behind and pack up the Kame House and put it back on his original, smaller island.

With his farewells, the group traveled to the island's local airport with Muten Rōshi planning to buy 5 tickets to Papaya Island, home of the Tenka'ichi Budōkai.

Already on the plane when he started flying Inosuke got up from his seat and looked out the windows. "It's amazing how fast something as big as this can go" and he started hitting the glass with the palms of his hands.

"Stop you're going to break the window" Krillin said as he tried to stop Inosuke.

After a while he stopped and he stared at the window, but he wanted to feel the wind and tried to open the window, causing Chi-Chi, Krillin and Roshi to get up in terror to stop him.

"Stop" we will fly out of that window if you open it, Chi-Chi said, after that she stopped but kept looking out the window with curiosity.

Then Inosuke fell asleep with his face against the mirror and a few hours passed and he woke up when the sky was dark. "Incredible, there are so many lights in the night" he spoke in wonder.

Papaya Island, at night

Some time later they went down in the city with Goku and Inosuke curiously looking around. They went to the venue of the Martial Arts tournament and signed up.

"With all due respect," Chi-Chi spoke, pouting. "Could we change to something a little less formal?"

"Oh, but of course!" Rōshi replied, pulling out a suitcase. "I almost forgot your new clothes. Suitable for students of the Turtle School".

From there she got a clothing specially made for Inosuke since she would know that she would not like to wear the normal one. "For you Inosuke some black Gi pants marked with the school symbol on his left leg that you can wear with this fur that I got you on the back also add the school symbol" said Roshi with a smile knowing about Inosuke knew he would like it.

"Incredible, thank you master" Inosuke said as he grabbed his new outfit and ran to some place with no people.

"For you Kakarot, it is nothing very personalized, it is a Gi with the school symbol on the chest on the left side and on the back. The black pants and the dark blue body part.

"I like Master, thank you" Goku said with a smile and went to change.

"For Krillin a full orange one" Roshi said

"Thank you Master" Krillin said with a happy smile.

"Yours is blue Chi-Chi take it and he goes change you" he said with a smile Roshi.

"Thank you very much teacher" Chi-Chi said and left.

"Those boys look happy with their graduation gifts" Roshi said with a happy smile when he saw his four students happy with his outfits.

Inosuke was back in no time with his new clothes already in use. With the black Gi pants marked with the school symbol on his left leg, and her thick black belt of bear fur at his waist over his pants with his tail around it. His new white fur draped over his shoulders, falling two large parts between his two pectorals almost to his waist, exposing his bear claw scar. The back of him also reached a little below his shoulder blades and in the middle a symbol equal to the one on the left leg of his pants the same size as those on their backs Goku and the others. He also had on his two black bearskin wristbands and black shoes.

"I look great in these clothes" Inosuke said with a proud and happy smile.

"You look amazing brother, it suits the way you dress" said Goku with a smile.

"You too" Inosuke replied still with a smile.

And so everyone finished changing and happy with his new appearance.

"Goku, Inosuke here" Someone called in the distance.

Hearing that Inosuke voice, Goku and Roshi recognized who he is from and they all looked in that direction to see Bulma and Oolong.

Chi-Chi recognized her when she saw her, she remembers her from when she met Goku.

"Hi, Bulma, Oolong" Goku said with a smile.

"Haha, they came to see how I'll be the strongest in the world" Inosuke said as he laughed.

"Yes, I heard about this competition and I imagined that you two would come here with what you like to fight, so I called Oolong to see if he wanted to come see you too" Bulma said with a smile.

"Who are they?" Krillin asked curiously.

"They are friends that Inosuke and I met 8 months ago, Bulma and Oolong" said Goku pointing at them.

"He is Krillin a friend we trained with" Goku said.

"One liked" Bulma said with a smile at Krillin.

"I visited the Island hoping to find them but I didn't see the house anymore" Bulma said doubtfully.

"There wasn't enough space to train on it so we moved to another Island" Roshi replied.

"Hey Bulma, you know now you're skinnier, you look like a flute and your legs look like two little straws, poor skinny, you're a bone." Roshi said a perverted smile.

At that moment Bulma tired of what Roshi says hit him with a wooden hammer that nobody knows where he got from and she sent him a few meters away.

"So see you tomorrow when the tournament starts" Bulma said with a smile to Goku and Inosuke.

"I thought it started today" Inosuke said disappointed.

"It's not tomorrow, by the way they look good in their new outfits" Bulma said as she said goodbye. "Tomorrow I will support you while you fight" She said as she walked away.

"She's scary," said Krillin when he was already a bit far away.

"Haha, if when she gets mad she's like that, it's incredible." Goku said with a smile.

Chi-Chi upon hearing what Goku said now she knew that she had a rival and she would not lose.

Krillin also realized what it means, but was silent for now. 'It seems that Kakaroto still doesn't know what he's feeling.' Krillin thought as they went to the hotel.

And so they went to sleep after being registered for the Tournament ready for tomorrow.
