CHAPTER 31

"Did you find him?" Raven's voice boomed in his master bed room as he stood up from the couch and walked to the glass window which stretched all the way from the roof to the floor.

"I want him punished or I'll do it my own way" his voice was not even a pitch low or high but it had a warning in it. The officer on the other side was biting down his own tongue. After a week of hunting for the man who tried to molest Anna, they finally had him under arrest and now they were pressurized by Raven.

He hung up before the officer could explain the circumstances if Raven did something stupid. Tossing the phone on the couch near by, he took a sip of the whiskey from the glass in his other hand. It had been a week but still he could not get her shivering image out of his thick skull. Everytime he remembered her, trembling on the floor and pearl like tears flowing down her cheeks, he felt anger and hurt, all at the same time.

When he woke up in the hospital, everything was playing in his head like a movie in slow motion. He remembered when he opened his eyes after the accident, and the first thing he saw was her hazel eyes. He cringed when he recalled how clingy he was with her but luckily she did not kick him out of the house. A small smile tugged at his lips when he recalled the grandmother. She was very warm and pleasant, although she treated him like a baby, patting his head every now and then. The smile slowly faded from his lips when her face came running back to his mind again. The kiss, her lips, the way she tangled her fingers around his hair. She smelled like strawberry but her skin was like peach, so soft. He had observed how she gave in easily to his touches like she had never been touched before. Was she so sensitive or maybe...virgin?

He shook his head, dismissing the inappropriate thoughts. It took him two years to get over those feelings and she was just bringing everything back.

That was not the only reason he wanted to distance himself from her. There was something he could not help. She resembled Areum. The first women he loved and promised to cherish forever. But she did not keep her promise, she left him in a way he could not bring her back even if he tried. He knew he had to stay away from Anna because everything that she was evoking in him would only repeat the past. Maybe she would leave him too. But everytime she was near, her sweet fragrance was tempting him, to touch her.

Lying about not remembering her wasn't of any help either. The day he was discharged from the hospital, Charlotte had insisted a lot that they must visit Anna's ward but he refused. And after reaching home, he could not help but wonder how she was doing, whether she was discharged yet.

When he was having a business meeting over dinner at 'Eleven Madison Park' the last person he imagined to encounter there was Anna, as she walked in through the front door. He was stunned to see her. She looked beautiful, so beautiful that he could not look away but his eyes glued to her intertwined hand with Ethan. The gawking eyes of the men from around the table only had his brows knitting together. He was seated on a table towards the far left corner. She would have hardly seen him but he had a clear view of her. The way she pushed her hair back from her shoulders, leaned back in her chair and unknowingly her chest perked outwards. He swiftly broke his gaze from her when she did that, he was going insane. But when he saw her getting up from the table, he watched as her heels clicked on the floor and she walked away. Noticing she did not come back, he excused himself and walked out to check on her. He could take a look from afar without her knowledge, just to make sure she was okay.

When he stepped into the empty hall, he saw her being pinned on the wall by a man and his head dipped in her neck as she was struggling to get out of his grasp. Fury and rage gushed through every nerve in his body as he reached towards the man and yanked him back by the collar. After countless number of punches and blows, when he was about to pass out, he held him against the wall and growled, "Don't touch what belongs to others". He did not even know where that came from. Whom did she belong to? Him? Why was he so furious when he saw someone else touch her?

He was snapped out of his thoughts when there was a knock on the door as he placed the glass of whiskey on the table beside. The maid walked in as she stood beside the couch, far behind him.

"Mr. CEO, there's a guest for you"

Raven frowned. It was almost dark outside, who the hell was disturbing him this late in the evening? When he did not say or move from his spot, the maid cleared her throat and spoke in a low voice, afraid he might lash out on her.

"She said it was urgent."

His ears perked up and he swiftly turned around.

"She?"

The maid nodded and was about to say something but before she could, Raven was already walking past her with long and hurried strides out of the door. He moved past the rooms and down the stairs as fast as he could.

'Anna'

No, it could not be her. She wouldn't come here. Not after he left her last time without uttering a word. He thought it would have hurt her, she might be hating him. But if it wouldn't be her then why was he running down the stairs?

As he walked in through the huge living room, his steps slowed down when he saw a familiar figure standing near the couch. She turned around upon hearing the footsteps and saw him standing at a distance in a white shirt with top few buttons undone and fluffy hair with some strands falling over his forehead. A smirk slowly made it's way to her plump lips as she walked around the couch swaying her hips and stood before him.

He stared blankly at her with ceased brows as she placed her hands on his shoulders and reached up to peck his cheeks. She nuzzled his ears whispering,

"It's been a while darling"
