CHAPTER 25

Raven stood at the restaurant window in the black tuxedo, which she liked the most. The top floor was empty as he had booked the whole hotel for the night, the only table set was beside him, with a name tagged behind the chair, 'Mr and Mrs Lorraine'. He impatiently waited for her, who lit his dark world with different colours of love and melted his ice heart just to engrave her name on it.

He glanced outside the window, the city lights down there looked so beautiful from the height at night, but it did not help his restless mind. Glancing down at his watch he sighed, thirty minutes past but she wasn't there yet.

"My wife takes so much of time to get dressed" he chuckled to himself recalling all the times he had stood outside her door, waiting for her.

Raven felt nothing but the most luckiest man on earth to have her, she was everything he ever wanted and everything he would ever need. His world revolved around her and only her but why wasn't she there yet. He decided he would have to punish her when they reach home for making him wait and he chuckled again at the thought.

Raven moved forward and placed a hand on the glass window, the weather was so chilly that the glass felt ice cold. Just when he was about to turn around he heard glass breaking somewhere on the floor above him followed by a scream.

He glanced outside through the glass, confused and at that very moment he watched his life get shatter and his eyes went wide when he saw her, falling down right in front of his eyes.

"AREUM!!"

Her name broke through his throat in a loud scream and without thinking twice he ran out of the restaurant's top floor and into the hallway. Running past the elevator, he rushed down the stairs, and did not stop until he reached the ground floor.

His steps came to an abrupt halt when he saw something he hadn't imagined in his scariest of nightmares. He saw her, sprawled on the ground, lying in a pool of her own blood and glass pieces scattered all around her. Her wide, still eyes stared up at the night sky with parted lips which dripped blood down her chin.

Raven walked towards her lifeless body with small and unsteady steps, and slipped to his knees before her. He still couldn't believe his own eyes and she gazed down at her from head to feet.

Tears pooled in his green eyes making his vision blurry. Reaching for her hand, he pulled her head onto his lap and close to his chest and let out all the tears. He sobbed looking down at her and lifeless face. This could not happen, she could not leave him just like that. Her blood was all over his hands and clothes as he buried his face in her neck and tears rolled down his face continuesly as he murmured against her pale skin.

"Wake up baby, Please. Please don't leave me. I beg you. Open you eyes baby, Please"

"NO!" Raven jolted up from the bed breathing heavily as Charlotte stood from her seat and came running to his side.

"Raven, Oh Jesus. Are you alright baby?"

She held his hands which were sweating. Raven looked around confused, he was in a room, white curtains, monitors beeping. It looked like a, hospital? Why was he in a hospital? He held his head when a strong pain broke through his nerves again and fell back on the bed groaning.

The nurse hurried out of the room to get the doctor while Charlotte tried to calm him down by rubbing his hands, although it did not help much.

"Why am I here mother? How did I- " his throat went dry and he gulped hard.

"Everything will be fine Baby, just calm down alright?"

He was still panting but closed his eyes and laid back. He did not understand why he was in a hospital or how he got there.

Meanwhile on the second floor of the same hospital, Anna was still unconscious as the doctors ran tests and scans to look for any internal bleeding in her head. Eva paced back and forth while Ethan was busy talking to the doctor when the Grandmother walked in with Aunt Elora.

"Where..where is she? Where is my Annie? Let me see her" the old lady was crying already as Eva came up to her and embraced her.

"Nothing is serious Grannu, Please don't panic. She is fine" Eva rubbed the grandmother's back until she calmed down.

When the doctor walked away Ethan came to the three ladies and first thing he did was hug the Grandmother as she cried on his shoulder. He guided her to a seat nearby and both of them sat down as Ethan let her know that Anna was alright.

"Eva dear, can I talk to you for a moment please?"

Aunt Elora spoke softly, she sounded weak, probably because she had just recovered herself and now she was in the hospital again for her niece. Eva and Elora walked away towards a corner and spoke as softly as possible, not wanting the old lady to listen to any of it and panic more.

"Can you tell me what exactly happened sweetheart?"

Eva sighed and started explaining everything that happened since afternoon when Anna had called her, asking her to get some ice cream, although it was odd she still agreed. When Eva reached at Anna's door, she rang the door bell a couple of times and knocked too but there was no response. When she dialed her number, no one picked up.

It felt very weird and Eva tried to peek in through the windows and when her eyes adjusted to the dim light inside, she gasped out loud. She saw Anna lying on the floor, near the table, passed out and her eyes travelled involuntary to the opposite and another gasp broke through her chest when she saw Raven laying unconscious across the floor too.

She tried to open the window but it was locked from inside and she did the first thing she could think of and that was calling up Ethan. After Ethan arrived at the spot he broke open the door and they got both of them to to hospital as soon as possible.

Elora patiently nodded after listening all of it before she spoke up.

"Mom told me about this Raven guy, what's his full name again?"

"Raven Lorraine" a deep sound spoke from behind them and both of them turned around. Richard walked up to them and Elora looked at him confused which he seemed to understand.

"I'm Richard Lorraine, Raven's father" he extended his hand and Elora gently shook it with a polite smile.

"How is Anna? Is she alright?" He asked shooting a glance towards the closed room  inside which Anna was being treated.

"She is fine for now and you would want to pray that she stays fine or you are gonna face some consequences Mr" Eva warned and walked passed them.

Elora sighed at the blank look on Ric's face and spoke up.

" Don't mind her Please. She is just a little sentimental at the moment"

Ric nodded as both of them walked towards the old Grandmother and Ethan who were still seated at the same spot. Ric acknowledged both of them and assured the old lady that they will get the best treatment for Anna.

Raven tried to remember how he reached to the hospital, why he was there but everything came in blur images in his head. He could see some faint faces of someone....a girl? He looked over at his mother who walked in with the doctor. The doctor examined him thoroughly and flipped through his test reports.

"He is fine, but he needs rest " he informed Charlotte and she nodded before he turned to face Raven.

"Raven, how are you feeling. Do you remember something now?" He asked while Raven's brows furrowed.

"What do you mean remember something? I am not drunk, I remember everything" he said coldly and the doctor raised his brows at Charlotte.

"He is back to normal" Charlotte whispered, stunned by the sudden realization. She threw her arms around Raven and hugged him closely while he hissed.

This was the old Raven, the cold and arrogant businessman that he was. He was finally back to normal and Charlotte could not keep down her excitement.

"Mother, Please!" He gently pushed her away and Charlotte chuckled sniffing.

"I missed you so much Baby" she kissed his cheeks and he frowned, confused over her words. Why did she miss him? He was right there. Did he probably fall into a coma or something? He closed his eyes and tried to force his brain to recall what happened and how he got to the hospital.

He remembered getting drunk at the Mansion and then leaving the house in his car. He drove to some unknown routes and then....accident?  His eyes shot open and he looked at the doctor and his mother.

"I met with an accident, didn't I?" He asked both of the them, as they looked at him confused.

"Do you not remember anything that happened after that?" The doctor asked and Raven shook his head in denial.

The doctor nodded and motioned to Charlotte to follow him, she hesitated but followed him. After coming out of the room he said,

"Don't worry, I don't think he will totally forgot it. Just give him some time, he will eventually remember it" Charlotte nodded and the doctor walked away.

The Grandmother was sitting beside Anna, holding her hand. The doctors had informed that Anna was alright with no inner bleeding or injury and had lost consciousness due to the sudden blow to the head.

None of them knew what exactly happened with Anna or Raven and now as Raven didn't remember anything after the accident,

It seemed only Anna knew whatever happened in the closed room that afternoon.
