9 Chapter 8

I breathe a sigh of relief. " I guess this is Tatooine then." I sat to both of the droids that are in awe of the amount of sand.

We walk for what appears like miles. The twin suns now above as midday was settling in. I squint at a small, ambiguous oval like shape in the distance. Was this the home that Luke always wrote about in the texts? The one he told me about?  I search around the homestead looking for an entrance. I found a scrap piece of material that looked like it had not aged. I grab it, cautious of any sharp edges.

I begin to sledge down the coarse, dusty pale sand, for a moment I feel like a child playing on a playground.

BB-8 and DO roll down the mound, BB-8 almost toppling over. I laugh. this is probably the first time I have laughed since Ben's death, even if it was over a droid. "beepbopbepboop" BB-8 says still embarrassed by his fall. I check his antenna to see it bent. " BB-8. your antenna's bent" I say to the droid. he rolls towards me and comes to a standstill as I fix it. "beep boop beep" he says gratefully. "no problem buddy, anytime " I reply.

Out of the blue, I begin to feel a peculiar yet estranged presence in the force. it was a warm and comforting feeling. My heart begins filling with hope and excitement that its Ben. But this calling didn't feel like his force signature.

I step cautiously. Being careful of every step I tread on the sand beneath my feet. the force guides me to a darkened, eerie hallway. I finally come to a standstill at a blank wall. puzzled, I begin to look in the surroundings for an entrance. I look for a while and all that I could find was a bone from a carcass. Well at least I' not the only one here to take refuge I think to myself. I close my eyes letting the force guide me. without notice, the door opens, making the homestead shake. I enter. curiosity filling me inside letting me forget for once all the events that have happened a week ago.

A screaming screech coming from nowhere startled me.

As I enter I begin to feel surrounding darkness in my force. The room was lit dimly. I begin to walk down the steep stairs one by one Vigilantly. All of a sudden I stumble on one of the many steps, breaking the silence. Trying to find my feet, I inhale in slight pain. Hoping that it would wear off quickly. a glimmer of light twinkling on an inanimate object. The object only two steps away from my grasp. I reach for it. my hand shaking in fear, not knowing what I would experience or envision.

Sorry to leave it on a cliffhanger like that but I could not help myself. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and it gets even more interesting as it goes along, trusts me. I'm trying to make the chapters a little longer as they were really short in the previous ones.
