2 Episode 1 - Days Gone Bye

A man walks out of a blue-bricked house, wearing a Sheriff's Deputy Police Uniform. The man walks over to a car that is waiting for him. As he gets into a car, another man sits in the driver's seat "morning Rick, you ready?" Rick looks at the man and he nods "yeah, let's get going, Shane". Shane starts to drive off and he goes "how's Lori and Carl man?" Rick smiles at him "yeah they're good" Shane smiles at him, Rick then goes "I gotta phone call from Madison yesterday" Shane laughs "no shit, Madison Clark? Your sister? How's she holding up these days?" Rick laughs "she's good-" Rick then looks to the floor "her husband, he died a while ago" Shane goes "no shit? Give her my love, I haven't seen her in a while" Rick nods at him "I will do".

Later on that day, Shane pulls up his car down a road, where another cop car is parked on the other side of the road. Rick and Shane get out of the car and they both look at two other cops. Shane goes "Leon? Lambert? What's our eta?" Leon goes "two minutes" Rick nods "make sure you've got a round in the chamber, and your safety's off" Lambert nods "yes sir" Rick smiles. Suddenly, a red car speeds around the corner, with two cop cars following behind it. Rick goes "that was a funny two minutes!". Rick pulls out a revolver from his holster and he aims it at the red car. Rick, Shane, Leon, and Lambert open fire at the red car. Shane shoots his shotgun. Seconds later, the red car then drives over a spike strip, causing the front tires to explode. Rick smiles "good job Leon". The red car then flips to its side and starts to roll over onto a field. More cops get out of their car and Rick goes "keep your guns up, and Lambert, call for a paramedic". Suddenly, one of the red cars door's open, and a man crawls out with a handgun and shoots at them. Rick aims his revolver and shoots the man in the head. A second then kicks the window open and aims his handgun and starts to fire at them. Shane aims his shotgun and shoots him. Rick nods at Shane "nice shot" Shane smiles "what can I say, I'm just a pro" Rick smiles at him. Suddenly, another man crawls out of the red car, and he aims a shotgun at Rick and pulls the trigger. Shane shoots the man and he shouts "RICK!". Rick lays on the floor heavily bleeding.

Rick's eyes open and he gasps for air as he awakes inside a hospital room, and laying in a hospital bed. Rick tries to crawl out of bed, but he falls onto the floor in pain. Rick screams "NURSE!". Rick continues to lay on the bed and he waits. Rick then grabs onto the bed, forcing himself to his feet. Rick looks at a plant beside his bed that has withered and died. Rick walks over to the hospital room door, and he opens it. Rick goes "hello? Is anyone here?". Rick walks down a hallway and he sees blood covering the walls, and dust covering the floor and shelves. Walking towards a door, Rick sees fingers appearing through the cracks of the hole, and written on the door is 'Dead Inside, Don't Open' Rick stares in shock until he looks to his left and sees a door labelled 'Fire Exit' Rick runs out of the door, but his eyes burn from the light of the sun. Outside the hospital, Rick sees hundreds upon hundreds of dead bodies stacked up in the yard of the hospital. Rick shakes his head "no, what the fuck is this?" Rick then stares in shock "Lori!". Running down the street, Rick stops near a bench, where he sits down, holding his chest, which is bleeding again. Rick takes a deep breath "shit". Rick then hears a noise behind him "hello?". Rick stands up and he turns around, seeing nobody behind him, Rick then sees a bike leaning against the fence. Rick grabs the bike and goes to sit on it until an arm grabs onto's Rick's ankle. Rick falls to the floor, and as he turns around he sees a legless woman growling at him. Rick stares in shock "what are you? What the fuck are you?" the woman growls at him again. Rick shakes his head and he gets back onto the bike, quickly biking off to find his family at his home.

Outside the blue-bricked out, Rick jumps off the bike as he runs into his house and he screams "LORI! CARL!" Rick runs around his house, checking all the room and he falls into tears "no, please" Rick looks at the shelves, seeing all his photos gone. Rick walks outside and sits down. As Rick sits on a broken wall outside his house, he sees someone in the distance walking towards him. Rick smiles "hi, I'm-". A noise is heard behind him, and he turns around, a spade hits Rick around the head. A man runs over, shooting the other person in the face. A boy goes "daddy!".

Rick's eyes open, and as he looks around, he notices his hands and legs are tied to the bed. Seconds later, a deep voice goes "what's your wound?" Rick turns around and he looks at a man sat beside his bed "I...uh-" the man looks at him, the man stands up, walking up to a bloody bowl. The man washes his hands and he goes "I've cleaned your wound, bandaged it, what was it?" Rick goes "why I am I tied up?" The man goes "in case you try to hurt me, or my boy" Rick stares at him. The man kneels beside Rick and stares at him "now tell me, did you get bit?" Rick goes "bit?" The man nods "bitten, scratched? Anything like that" Rick shakes his head "no, I was shot, I woke up in the hospital today" The man nods at him "okay". The man cuts Rick's ties off and smiles "name's Morgan Jones-" a young boy walks in and Morgan goes "that's my son, Duane" Duane smiles "hello" Rick nods at him "my name's Rick, Rick Grimes" Morgan goes "so, Rick Grimes, what were you sitting outside for? They could've easily have gotten you" Rick goes "I was looking for my wife and my son, wait...what do you mean they?" Morgan walks over to the window and goes "come here a minute". Rick looks at Duane who nods at him. Rick walks over to the window and Morgan opens the curtains, Rick sees loads of people walking around in the street. Morgan goes "my gunshot must've drawn them over here" Rick goes "they're people?" Morgan shakes his head "they're walkers, they're dead people who only want to kill you, if you get bit or scratched, you turn into one of them, and I know that because it happened to my wife". Rick lays on the floor and Morgan goes "in the morning I can show you how to kill one of them, and maybe help you find for your family" Rick nods "I'd appreciate that" Morgan nods "night". During the morning, Morgan walks outside, and a walker sits on the floor. Rick walks out with a baseball bat. Morgan goes "remember what I told you, go for the head". Rick walks over to the walker, which growls at Rick, and it stands up. Rick swings the bat, but the walker keeps coming for Rick. Rick swings the bat again, but he groans from the pain of his wound. Morgan goes "hit it again!" Rick swings the bat again, and the walker falls to the floor. Morgan smiles at Rick "nice".

Rick, Morgan, and Duane walk into the Sheriff's Station. Morgan goes "you think they'll still be there?" Rick goes "only a few people had the keys, I was one of them, so they should be there". Rick walks into the gun cage and he smiles "I told you". Rick walks into the gun cage, which is full of guns. Rick sees his revolver sitting on the table and he smiles. Rick attaches his holster and holsters his revolver. Morgan smiles "suits you" Rick smiles "it was mine, they must've put it in here". Rick loads up a duffel bag full of guns and ammo. Rick then looks at Morgan and Duane. Rick goes "Morgan, go check that shelf, go pick a rifle for yourself" Morgan nods "sure thing". Duane watches Morgan walk off. Rick smiles at Duane "how are you holding up?" Duane nods "I'm good, sir" Rick goes "you don't have to call me that, can call me Rick" Duane nods "okay" Rick goes "I'm sorry about your mom" Duane goes "I'm sorry about your family" Rick shakes his head "I'm not, because I know they're okay, alright...whatever this thing is, it will end, whether it takes a few weeks or a couple of months...it's going to end" Duane goes "I'm scared, I don't want the monsters to get me" Rick smiles at him "I give you my word, you are going to make it". Morgan walks through holding a rifle. Rick goes "let's head outback, there should be some vehicles". Morgan smiles "okay" Duane looks at Morgan. Morgan smiles at Duane "come on". Outside the Sheriff's Station, Rick and Morgan see two cop cars. Rick looks at Duane and smiles. Suddenly a walker growls behind Rick, and he stares in shock at a walker behind a fence. Rick goes "Leon Basset?" Morgan looks at Rick "a friend?" Rick nods "something like that". Rick pulls his revolver out and he shoots Leon. Rick sighs "I'm sorry Leon". Morgan looks at Rick "so, your wife?" Rick nods "yeah, um...are there any evacuation points? My wife took all of our photos, the only reason she would do that is if she didn't think she'd be coming back". Duane goes "Atlanta?" Morgan nods "me and Jenny, my wife...we were headed to Atlanta, there's one there" Rick smiles "let's go then". Morgan goes "Rick, we're staying, the cities aren't safe, I know you gotta go, but I can't" Rick nods at him "I understand" Morgan looks at him "you're a good man".

Rick and Morgan shake hands. Rick throws his duffle bag into his car. Rick goes "take care of your old man Duane" Duane smiles "I will" Rick smiles "see you around Morgan" Morgan nods "I hope so". Rick gets into his car, and he drives off. Morgan and Duane both wave at Rick as he leaves. Rick drives down a highway towards Atlanta. Rick sees all the cars that were trapped from leaving Atlanta. Rick continues driving as he drives passed loads of walkers, Rick grabs his radio "hello, is anyone out there?". Rick looks at a photo of Lori and Carl and he smiles at the photo. Elsewhere at a camp, Shane walks over to the radio. Lori goes "did you hear that?" an old man goes "that was the radio" Shane kneels down and grabs the radio "hello? Can you repeat that please?" a girl goes "if they're headed into the city, they're gonna get hurt" Shane looks at her. Inside the city, Rick drives passed a tank slowly. Rick then turns a corner, and he comes upon hundreds and hundreds of walkers. Rick stares in shock "oh my god!". Rick looks in his rear-mirror and sees walkers appearing behind. Rick reverses, hitting walkers with his car, but the wheels get stuck among the bodies and he goes "shit". Rick grabs his duffle bag, and he runs out of the car. A walker goes to grab him, but he shoots it in the head. Another walker growls at him, and Rick kicks it. Rick runs towards the tank and he goes "shit...shit!". Rick pulls a rifle out of the duffle bag and he aims it and starts to shoot the walkers. All the walkers start walking towards him. Rick crawls under the tank, dragging the duffle bag with him, walkers start to crawl under, following him. Rick kicks one of them in the head. Rick then looks up and he sees a door under the tank, and he pushes it open and crawls into the tank. Rick throws the duffle bag inside and he lays on the floor breathing heavily. A soldier then falls onto Rick growling. Rick screams "GET OFF". The walker grabs Rick's ankles and Rick then snaps its neck. Rick crawls up against the wall in the tank and he smiles. Suddenly static is then heard on the radio and Rick stares at it nervously. All of a sudden, a voice goes "hey, hey you! Yeah you, the dumbass in the tank, are you cosy in there?" Rick looks at the radio and he starts to laugh. Rick grabs the radio and smiles.

Next Time - Atlanta - Rick discovers a small group situated and trapped in the middle of Atlanta. Rick, Glenn, Morales, Allen, and Andrea try to come up with a way to get back to a camp they have. Back at the camp, Shane makes a decision that angers the camp.
