Love is Subjective

Love is subjective matter. For few people things like status, wealth, occupation is of higher priority than love. Because love always comes with a price. its not like all successful people will fall in love with each other. Till now no one has been able to reason out exactly' what makes a person fall in love'. There is no concrete theory or methods to attain it. Though Father Shen seems like a authoritative person, he is very compassionate person inside. His wife Zhou Shui comes first than anything in this world. Even after having a long service in the government and having three grown up kids, his priority is always is his wife. His love for his wife is never ending.

Unlike lot of familes in the country, their marriage is not of convenience. Father Shen fell in love with his wife Zhou Shui in university days itself. they both travelled a tough journey together. Mother Shen had been always his support system. They don't have a habit of showing the public display of their affection. They Complement each other in all aspects and they rarely argue since either one of them will sacrifice for each other without asking. though lot of people outside don't know this about them, Mingyu is aware of it since his young age. when he fell in love with Ling , he promised himself that he will outdo his father.

The figures who was watching Ling & Mingyu was Father and Mother Shen. They wanted Mingyu to find his love of life and vice versa with Ling. Mother Shen was very emotional when she spotted both of them in intimate position. She prayed all the gods for their union.

Next Morning Tai woke Ling early from her sleep to go for a cycle ride with her in the Military campus. They both left the house with their respective bikes. Ling borrowed a mountain bike from Father Shen Garage. The sun was looking like it was not going to come out very soon. Ling enjoyed the cool breeze when it hit her during the ride. To make it interesting Tai took Ling to spot the place where the trails of the small mountain starts. Tai Said

"Ling jie, i understood from the small ride with you till now that you are not new to riding bikes. you seem like a trained cyclist. so, to make it interesting lets go for a hill ride along this trail. lets see who make it to the top."

Ling loves this kind of challenges. But she dint realize the inside plan of Tai. Ling said

"Okay, lets go. But i don't want competition. lets finish the trail and reach the end desitination. "

Tai happily agreed. She sent few messages on her phone and set her fitness watch to bike riding and started the ride.

Ling followed her quickly. The view was breath taking for Ling. The trail was leading to the top of the hill. Because ling had prior experience she was comfortably riding and went ahead of Tai. After some point, the trail had a small pavilion. The Pavilion was located at the edge of the hill and it was overlooking the steep valley. She parked her bike on the side and started enjoying the view. Something inside told her that this is not a first time, she is coming to this place. The trail seems familiar as started riding in the beginning. she was surprised, but didn't think too much out of it.

Then she heard a familiar voice from behind

"Some old habits never change, Don't you think"

For a moment , Ling thought it was Mingyu. when she turned back it was Father Shen actually.

Ling was surprised to see him. then she remembered his words

"Uncle Shen, i m surprised to see you here. what made you say about habit never change, please tell me"

Father Shen gave her a small pat on her shoulders and said

"This is my usual jogging trail on weekends. Tai told me she riding with you, so i thought of joining you both at the end of the trail. Don't take too much rest, otherwise your legs will start to cramp since you are riding after a long time"

With that he left. he didn't answer her question. She knew that her parents had presence in this campus at one point of time. she wanted find answers about her father and mother. This is one of the reason she had agreed to stay in the military campus when mother Shen proposed.

Few Minutes later Tai joined her, They rode till the end together. They had reached a hill top and start to pant a little since the last few miles had a steep roads. There were lot of people like them seated in the small park at the top. Both of dumped their cycles on the side and went to recreational area for their breakfast. Naturally Tai went to her fathers side and whispered on his ears

"I did as you told, i want a reward soon daddy"

Father Shen smiled and nodded his head in approval.

Ling sat on one of trhe chairs in the table. Tai told her

" Ling jie, You please wait here, i m very familiar with place. so i will go get some breakfast for both of us to eat."

Ling agreed. Only Ling and Father shen remained in the table

"Uncle Shen, Do you know my parents?" Ling jumped straight into the question. she is very smart, hence she figured out that father Shen might knew her past that's why he let that comment.

Fathers Shen was not surprised to look at the smart girl in-front of him, he replied

"Yes Ling dear, I know both of them very well. Don't try to know about their past. it is not going to help you. it will only bring unnecessary problems. I know you tried to hack the government database to know about your parents. I am also aware that you have shifted from London to find answers.

But i can only tell you one thing. they have died saving you. Mingyu also died almost saving you in the past. He still wants to protect you. so treasure the life you have right now.

please don't ask me anymore. The information about your parents are classified and i cant share it with you."

Ling was startled hearing him. she found little bit of the answer but she dont even know her parents name or surname. the surname she holds belongs to her grandma. she hacked few years ago to find more about her grandma to get answers. she found there is no family registry holds her grandma's name. She couldn't find any trade of her mother from hey search.

Father Shen holded her hands and said "I m Sorry dear" and left the table.

He couldn't sit and watch her feeling sad. She is his bestfriends Prescious daughter. He needs to control his feeling as of now.

Tai came back with Mingyu, He noticed Ling is not looking normal. So he requested his sister to get food for him. Tai understood hey brother and left immediately.

Mingyu came closer to Ling.

"Sweetheart Ling, What's the matter? Why do you look so dull right now"

Ling looked at him and said

"You like me because you knew about my past right? How can you do this to me? You knew about my parents too right?why didn't you mention anything before? I don't trust you anymore Mingyu"

Mingyu was stunned, she was way too smarter than he thought. Before he could respond, she left him quickly. He tried to run after her, he couldn't find her in the sea of people.

He received a text message from Ling saying

" I m leaving your house, Please don't disturb me. I need some space. Thanks for everything. bye "

The message felt like a stab in his heart. He knows "Love is subjective", Yet he is willing to go all the way to win her heart. He is determined that what the love he have for her is unconditional.
