Let's cut to the chase

Though it's summer in the City T, It had a very pleasant climate. since it was early morning, chill wind was flowing in the streets. Ling woke up and opened the window, the breeze hit her face. She suddenly remembered her evening with Mingyu. Though she didn't want to admit herself, she feels like kinda attracted to him. She thinks he is like a strong magnet or something.

She looked at the trees swaying outside and suddenly struck in her mind that how did she reach home last night. she is still wearing the casual clothes she wore last evening. Maybe, Qing helped me get home. She was thinking about messaging Mingyu itself and ask him anyway. When she lifted her phone, she realized that she had received multiple messages. Few were from her old University mates, one each from Qing Yun and Mingyu. she opened Qing Yun's message first. Qing Yun seems to understand her very well, she written message not to worry that she had Mingyu to drop her in home. She opened Mingyu's and just smiled.

Since, she woke up early and had very good night rest, she decided to go for her usual morning jog.

Downtown has parks surrounding the small lake. Generally Ellie people or someone who stays in the downtown only will be allowed. Since Ling staying in the downtown, she showed residence pass and entered the facility.

Though it's Little early and sun might come in another hour or so, the sky is trying change its color. As a Natural lover, Ling started jogging admiring the view in front of her. She jogged for a an hour without a break. She always believed in endurance training. Hence she kept herself fit and took participation in marathon, triathlon or cycling back when n she was in University. these activities gave her a Aderaline push.

She found a Sitting area from far, started jog towards it. She sat and breathing heavily. She was little tired after one hour of jogging. Suddenly she heard the noise. She noticed, it's not a noise, it's crying sound. She walked towards the place where the sound was coming. she saw a girl sitting under the kept her face in between her knees and crying, her cycle was lying in the ground as well.

Ling went closer to the girl and touched her shoulder. The girls stopped her crying and looked embarrassed. Ling introduced herself and asked the girl for her name. She felt Ling looks like her elder sister. So she wiped her tears and introduced herself

"Hi Ling Jie, I am Tai."

Ling didn't want to confront directly, so she asked

"Xiao Tai, did you get hurt anywhere for to cycling"

Tai looked at Ling with her puppy eyes and asked

"Ling Jie, if you don't mind, can you I use your phone to call my brother. Few girls bullied while ago have thrown my phone into the Lake"

immediately Ling handed her the phone after unlocking.

Tai gave a call and heard her sleeping brothers voice, she told him to come and pick her up from Park. She ended the call after giving him the location of herself in the park.

Ling gave the little girl a water. she is not exactly a little girl, she must be around 16 years old.

Her brothers rushed and came to the place in 10 minutes. He went and immediately hugged Tai. And started asking where and how she got hurt.

Ling was surprised and asked

"Your are her brother????"

Seeing Ling s expression, Tai jumped to her brothers embrace. she turned to Ling and said

"Ling Jie, This is Elder brother, Shen Mingyu"

Ling was surprised even more, what!!! he is Shen Mingyu. She managed to ask Tai, " Is he the CEO of Shen industries?

Before Tai could say something, He knows it's duty to rectify the situation. So He came forward and holded ling's hand and said

"Ling, Let me cut to the Chase. I didn't mean to hide my identity. I want to get know you personally. After I spoke to you on train, I felt we have some connection. I was afraid, if I tell my identity it will be like showing off and what if you will not speak to me outside work. Ling, are you listening to me. Please say something in return."

Ling is not a ordinary person, she doesn't fight for small things. She thought to herself, it's not exactly his fault. She never asked him about his family or work. She just assumed that he is rich because of his looks and never thought of questioned him.

Right now looking at his pair of dark brown eyes, Ling felt

It didn't lack any sincerity. Plus he didn't do any harm to her when she didn't know his real identity. She quickly snapped out from her thoughts and said

"Mr. Shen, I don't really blame you. It's my mistake as well. You don't have be sorry"

When she addressed him so formally, he felt is traveling far away from her to some other planet. he leaned close to her and said

"Xiao Ling, please don't address me so formally, call me Mingyu as used to do please, it's my humble request".

Ling cheeks became red when said it in husky voice.

She said

"Okay, I will do that. But let's maintain a formal relationship at work. I don't want people to think that I m taking few advantages of you"

when they were talking they forgot the third wheel standing. Infact she is not a third wheel, she is the reason Mingyu arrived. Shen Tai was surprised to see her brother talking so gentle. she had only seen her second brother Guanyu speaking like this before. She understood that maybe hey brother likes Ling, she is not a kid anymore. she coughed and said

" Guys, I m here. and brother you came for me. you both seems to be forgotten that I m also hurt here." she said and showed her ankle.

Mingyu realized his mistake and looked at his sister

"Xiao Tai, let me see your wound first"

she seems to have light sprain. if she put little bit of ointment. she will be relieved from pain."

He lifted her up swiftly and tried to lift the cycle as well. Ling interrupted

"Mingyu, I will get the cycle. Both of you come to my home. let's treat Tai wound. Let her take some breakfast and some rest. If she is fine, I will take for shopping or I will her at your office. what do you think.

Both brother and sister beamed and told Yes in unison. Such a shameless family thought Ling, but they both are very cute. So smiled and started riding the cycle to her home. They followed her in the car.

when Ling reached home and switched on the light. she saw someone sleeping in the sofa of the Living room. Before she could think more, Mingyu came and bumped on the person. It was her boss Jiang Yu.

Ling gave First aid box to Mingyu to treat Tai wound.

From the way, they were talkingto each other. Ling understood they are known outside work. She refreshed and went to kitchen to make breakfast for everyone. Since Ling loves cooking, she was excited to make food for so many people. First she put Coffee proper in the maker for some coffee and started taking out some indegrients

Mingyu came to kitchen, Leaned on the counter saying

"Ling dear, I would like to help you too in making breakfast"

She was shocked on him calling her Ling dear. He abserved that and came closer to her and asked

"You don't like me calling you Ling dear"

She said" Mr.Shen, I thought that we are just friends"

He smiled brightly

"So we are friends now, don't friends call each other dear, darling, sweetie, sweetheart etc"

She realized that he is very good with his words

He came very close to her almost hugging her and placed his hands on her shoulders. He spoke in a low husky voice that only she could hear

"Ling, I am not going to hide my feeling for you. I want to be very honest with you. I believe in true, honest and transparent relationship. according to me we are not just friends, we are more than that. don't ask me to name it now. I'm not expecting you to feel the same, right away.I know you can't trust me completely now, but I will gain your trust one day. However don't go away from me. I will not trouble or disturb you any way. I will patiently wait for you to become mine"

Hearing these words Ling's entire face became deep red, How can anyone resist such words from most handsome man. Yet she chose her words very carefully and replied to him

"Okay, I understand. Let's just be friends first" She didn't want to give him hope and at the same time, for some reason she didn't want to hurt him as well.

Suddenly Yun came into kitchen asking

"Xiao Ling, My head seems to be aching, please give me coffee fast"

When she saw both of them, her brother gave her angry glare.

She went back saying," my head stopped aching now, no need of coffee anymore"

Mingyu released his hands from her shoulders and changed the topic to make her comfortable

" Ling dear, come let's make some Western breakfast today, everyone here like that"

Ling was surprised, being in Europe for so many years, she loved Continental breakfast.

" Mingyu, thank you. but don't worry. I can do the cooking part"

Quickly, They both made French toast, Fried eggs, scrambled eggs, Bacon and cheese omelet. pancakes, Waffles, Hash browns, Stir Fried pepper mushrooms. and aromatic coffee on to of that.

All of them had a hearty meal and Ling was very happy to have so many people around her. it felt like one big family.

She holded Mingyu's hands under the table, looked at his beautiful dark brown eyes and said

"Thanks so much, I love this breakfast"

Mingyu leaned closer and gave her light peck on her cheeks.
