Marvolo

Jack finally took another empty piece of paper and letter from the rusted drawer.

Then, he began writing a response to the letter.

The light of dawn shone through the window, revealing an owl perched on the glass window's frame, its sharp-talons clinging to it. The owl had white features and large yellow eyes, which were now looking at him.

It only took him a few minutes to finish the letter, and he placed it in an envelope with detailed instructions.

Finally, Jack raised the letter to the owl, which was immediately caught by the owl's beak, and it flew out of the room, rather quickly, as it seemed impatient to stay anymore.

Jack's expression was dazed by the owl's sudden action.

A knock on his door, however, quickly drew me out of his thoughts; he quickly tucked his acceptance letter into the drawer and checked himself in the mirror on the wall near his cupboard.

He had short white hair, fair skin, and blue sapphire eyes. His features were angular, and his brows were also white. He was also dressed in black pants and a sweater.

Jack Frost double-checked himself, and seeing that he was perfect, he went to open the door to his room.

"Mrs. Cole, good morning." Jack's eyes were always calm and indifferent, despite his jovial demeanour. His perception is extraordinary, so that he can simply see through a door and determine who is behind it.

"Good morning, Sweetie." Mrs. Cole smiled as she heard his greetings; she admired this quiet and well-behaved child who had assisted her numerous times during her work.

She always wished for other children to follow in his footsteps, but they never did.

Tom, the strange one, in particular, she disliked. She knew he wasn't a normal child.

Even, she even wondered how he could be considered a child after what he'd done.

For example, a child would not kill another person's pet after a simple argument and fight.

Even though she had not personally witnessed it, she knew it was true based on her own judgement.

But that didn't make her devise a reason to kick him out, because she had sworn to God that she would take care of all her children. So long as he doesn't step over the line and isn't caught by her, she wouldn't thrown him out.

And, yes, she noticed that the relationship between Tom and Jack was strange, but harmonious. When she came to know it, she was completely perplexed. It was as if the abandoned had finally met someone of his own kind. She found it strange, because they had truly distinct personalities.

"The breakfast has been prepared." Mrs. Cole stated this while leaning forward to inspect the room for any problems. "It's already 7.30 a.m.; if you arrive late, the food will become cold."

"You are free to continue your studies after that."

"I prepared a special breakfast for you, for helping me yesterday," Mrs. Cole said, checking his reaction.

"Thank you very much, Mrs. Cole" Jack nodded, his tone polite, but his face couldn't seem to hide his delight.

"It's what you deserve kid." Mrs. Cole expressed her appreciation.

"Yes, Could you please bring Tom with you?"

"You know about his situation, most of them are afraid of him and dare not get close to him," Mrs. Cole inquired. "He doesn't show up for breakfast or any other activities. Even when I call him, he simply ignores me." When she mentioned Tom, her tone was somewhat helpless.

"He's a real problem child." Mrs. Cole expressed her point of view.

Mrs. Cole was a sharp woman who could see through a lot, but she didn't realise that Tom was much more than a simple problem child.

"I'll bring him to breakfast."

"Don't be worried about him." After hearing her request, Jack agreed. "He may appear gloomy and somewhat of a loner, but when one gets to know him personally, he is completely different." He made a remark after hearing her thoughts on Tom.

"Believe me, he's a one-of-a-kind." He emphasised once more that his words were true.

"Oh, I know." Mrs. Cole laughed it off, clearly not believing him. "All right, Sweetie. I need to go wake up the other kids."

"I'll see you at breakfast." She finished, then took her leave, exiting through the next door in the hallway.

Jack quickly shut the door, his expression becoming indifferent, a complete change from before.

'How long do I have to put up with this?' Jack felt a sense of helplessness.

He sat on his bed and picked two pebbles from the table, which soon floated above his hands and began rotating in response to hand motions. He has a habit of doing this while thinking about chaotic things and his life.

This is simple application of magic, which anyone can do. Even now, he could use magic to apply enormous force to the pebble, shooting it from his hand and making it a very lethal projectile.

He's putting on this "good boy" act because he's broke and the food here is disgusting. At the very least, he will gain some privileges as a result of this; Mrs. Cole will give him some money and cook some better food during special occasions.

He also didn't like the way he was acting. Because he was 20 years old in his previous life, the fact that he is now a boy does not change his mental age. It was a total hassle having little kids around who were overly enthusiastic about everything.

Jack sighed again, rose from his bed, and made his way outside of his room, to the next door to the left of his room.

He was still playing with the pebbles using magic in his hand, as he was alone in the hallway.

Knock!

Jack knocked on the door and then yelled loudly.

"Marvolo, please open the door."

"Wait." A rather gloomy voice came from within the room, and then the door opened on its own.

"Did you receive the letter?" A boy with black hair and brown eyes, his face was now filled with genuine excitement as he held letters in his hands.

"Yes."

"I got it, especially delivered by an owl at that," Jack Frost said calmly as he entered his room.

"I knew we weren't the only ones." Tom rose from his chair and approached him, displaying his letter.

He had already made such a guess when he discovered that Frost, like him, possessed extraordinary abilities.

He and Frost didn't start out as friends because he didn't trust anyone. But he wanted to get to know him better after discovering that he was similar to himself. Others were terrified when they looked at him, but he was unconcerned.

This alone piqued his interest in frost, so here they were, even though he didn't completely trust Frost, he was only one he knew, who have extraordinary power like himself.

"We'll be picked up by someone." Jack didn't want to chit-chat with him, so he went to write about the subject. "At the very least, you should behave well when you meet them."

"Come on, Frost," Tom retorted immediately. "You want me to put up a front like you. Especially the good boy act, you're always putting on to deceive others. It was a lot of fun watching you fool around in this disgusting place, especially with people who have no worth." He spoke with a mocking tone.

Jack didn't bother putting on an act for him because he was different from others. So that's why he could see through him; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to understand anything about him.

As soon as he heard him, Jack yawned and spoke in a lazy tone. "I'm just offering some advice. It's entirely up to you in the end, and I couldn't care less how you turn out. However, in the future, don't come to me for help." He spoke with amusement as he brought up a situation that Tom hated.

"Not even in my wildest dreams will something like that happen." Tom's words were tinged with arrogance and self-assurance.

"It most certainly will." Jack had a wide grin on his face. His words and tone were confident, as if he could see the future right now.

"You—" Tom was enraged by his words, and just as he was about to speak up, Jack cut him off. "Let's get some breakfast." He didn't waste any time as he dragged him out of his room by his shoulder.

"Wait, my room is still a mess."

"Don't worry, we'll be back in 15 minutes."

After they were done, the door to Tom's room closed on its own. They quickly made their way into the orphanage as their argument raged on.
