Tristan tried to dust off the dirt on his bag and tidy up his clothes before coming inside the huge gates of Astor's Gladiator Center. Just a few meters inside and one can see a mighty sculpture of a man. Just below the sculpture is a bold sign.

I KILL DEMON OVERLORDS.

I CAN SLAY TYRANT GODS.

"So badass."

This man is Max Ingram and the words below is his last famous speech before going into battle a long time ago. Even though he died, he ensured great victory and succesfully hindered the enemy from invading one of the alliance cities. He is one of Tristan's idols.

"If this was a year ago, I would never dream of going here and risk my life."

Astor's training center is a nightmare for some youths in the city. It is certain that someone who will take the test to enter out of many youths will die. There is no precedent that against this fact and that shows how strict this exam is.

"Hehehe as long as I have these, I am certain that I will pass."

Tristan remembered exactly one year ago, when he was celebrating his ninth birthday dressing up a fat chicken for dinner, Malcolm, the 'warden' of the orphanage he was staying in, came in with a box.

"Hey old man, are you that old that you bought a shit box for yourself. Don't worry Allen and Jack is still here to take care of you even I'm not here anymore." (Tristan)

Tristan might seem rude but he really cared for this old man. Malcolm just smiled with Tristan's remarks.

"This shit box... I found it outside my door nine years ago... with you inside it." (Malcolm)

"Haha nice one old man, your jokes became so funny lately. Have you been practicing with Anna?" (Tristan)

It was quiet for a few seconds before Tristan realized that Malcolm was not lying.

"Are you kidding me? I was really left there?"(Tristan)

"Yup. And these things are left inside with you kid." (Malcolm)

Malcolm slowly put a sun shaped silver necklace and a wooden stick engraved with patterns which made it look like an antique.

"What the hell is this?" (Tristan)

"The hell do I know kid. Take it or leave it. I just remembered that just now so I'm giving it to you now before I forget it again." (Malcolm)

"Are you sure you didn't forget anything else?" (Tristan)

"Except for the two gold coins I took inside, there is nothing else."

Tristan didn't mind that the old man took the money because he is sure that 'warden' used for daily expenses of the orphanage. He trusted him because he never once lied to him ever, even though the old man has venomous tongue.

That night, out of sheer luck, he accidentally activated the wooden stick's secret function.
