66 Aftermath

Kojiro looks at the causality because of the Taniwha attack on Kyushu. There are 17 Youkai who die in the fight while the devil loses 57 of their soldiers. Many people get injured because of the Taniwha attack on Medic Bay. Not only that, but The palace also gets attacked by a mercenary for unknown reasons. Kojiro has an urge to chase after the mercenary and kill them right then, but after thinking about it carefully, he decides to refrain himself from doing that as it will take a long time to track them down. He will let them be alive for now.

He looks at Yasaka reading the sheet of paper of the casualties they need to repair before they wake up the mundane people into the living world. Not only that, but they also need to modify the memory of the people, so they do not get suspicious. They also need to erase the cyber footage like CCTV recording around Kyushu.

All in all, they have a lot of work to do.

"Can you please repeat that?"

Michael looks at the exorcist that just arrived at the Vatican from Japan to fight against Taniwha. Michael is grateful for Dulio as if not for him, then there will be many exorcists who die when they fight against Taniwha earlier. However, when he looks at the data of people that get injured in the fight, one of the exorcists walks toward him and says some interesting information.

"Are you saying that there is a holder of a TRUE Excalibur in Kyoto?"

"Yes, Lord Michael"

"And the holder of the holy sword is the sister of Sasaki Kojiro, the partner of Yasaka, the queen of Youkai?"

"Yes, Lord Michael"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Lord Michael. The other exorcist and I see the little girl unseal the holy sword in front of our very eyes. We also see her summon a ghostly figure of the Knight of Round Table. We hear them saying that they release their seal on the sword."

"I see, do you hear the wording of the figure?"

"Yes, it goes like this"

The young exorcist takes a deep breath before saying.

"The enemy must not be elemental. I Lancelot release my seal."

"The battle must be one against evil. I Mordred release my seal."

"The battle must not involve personal gain. I Galahad release my seal."

"The battle must not be against Humanity. I Gaheris release my seal."

"The battle must not be inhumane. I Gareth release my seal."

After finishing listing all of it, the young exorcist looks at him and says.

"That is all, Lord Michael."

"I see."

"What should we do, Lord Michael? Also, is it true that it is the REAL Excalibur?"

"Haaaaa…. Please don't spread this around, okay?"

"Yes!"

"If by the look of it, then yes, it was the real Excalibur."

"But how? I thought Excalibur got destroyed a long time ago?"

"No, the truth is that Excalibur is gone after King Arthur died. The Pendragon family search for their precious sword high and low, but after a year searching without any result, they come to the last Fae kind in the world."

After hearing that the sword is still out there somewhere, the Pendragon clan search for it for another five years, but like before, they come empty-handed. After searching without any result, the head of Pendragon clan goes to the elder and says that they will forge ' Excalibur Fragment' and say that Excalibur is broken and comes from its pieces is the Excalibur fragment. The so-called Excalibur fragment is not formed from the fragments of the original Excalibur but rather a metal that absorbs large amounts of Holy energy and melted down inside the Flame of the original Alchemist. After they forge the Excalibur Fragment, the Pendragon Clan uses that sword to show the world that they still have the majestic sword even though it was just a fragment of the original sword. They also prove their word by slaying many monsters roaming Europe that day. After seeing the sword prowess, the Pendragon Clan solidify their power in Europe."

"I see."

"Yes, but please don't tell this information to the other, okay?"

"But why, Lord Michael? We can use this chance to claim the little girl as the asset to the church and heaven, right?"

"No, we can't do that. That will be too risky for us to do something like that. First thing first, the Pendragon Clan does not know the origin story of the Excalibur fragment, as the clan head destroys any evidence that indicates they lost the original Excalibur. If they know about it then I fear they will come here to Japan and try to force the little girl to summon the Excalibur then take it for the clan. Secondly, if they do that, then we will have an angry Youkai and Shinto faction that will demand the Pendragon Clan to return the sword. If they do not return it then we will war against the Youkai and Shinto faction, the currently rising faction that I hear a rumor they have a few demonic swords in their possession that they got from the corpse of Siegfried, the Rogue of the Church that join the terrorist group attacking Kyoto not too long ago."

"That… would be bad."

"Yes, and I hear the little girl, Sakura, big brother is rather a strong individual. I don't know if it was true, but after hearing the rumor and story around Japan myself, I decided to believe it. So if we inform the others about this, then we will have a few problems. The first one is Yasaka. She is a kind woman and loyal to her Gods and Goddesses, but she is also a fierce woman in battle. While she is a defensive type of fighter because she needs the Leyline in Kyoto, we can't underestimate her in the fight. The next one is Nurarihyon. This man is the most dangerous man to us than Yasaka. Yasaka is an honorable woman that rather fights face to face, but Nurarihyon is the shadow to Yasaka light. He is the man that gathers intelligence for Yasaka and the one that will destroy any obstacle for her. He also the head of the Assassination squad to the Youkai faction. Lastly, if the Shinto Faction decides to take part in this mess, then we will fight not only the Youkai but also the Gods and Goddess from Shinto Faction."

"So should we leave the little girl alone?"

"Hmmm maybe not. We can send some people to Kyoto with a mission to befriend Sasaki Kojiro and her little sister."

"Who should we send, Lord Michael?"

"Hmmm, Griselda should have a young ward under her care, right?"

"Yes, I think her name is Xenovia Quarta."

"Good, she also has a friend/partner, right?"

"Yes, Irina Shidou"

"Good, then I will write my order for them to befriend the Sasaki family in Kyoto."

Michael smiles at his idea. Even though he says all that, it would be a lie if he doesn't want to see the TRUE Excalibur once again. It's been a while since he saw the light of Excalibur. He still remembers his father telling him that Excalibur is not made by him but rather from the wishes of humanity to achieve eternal victory and then tempered within the planet. The Fae race guarded it before they perished for an unknown reason and left the sword to be guarded by the last Fae, Lady of the Lake, Vivian. It then passed to King Arthur before it disappeared after Arthur died and also the last time the world saw the Lady of the Lake.

'Remember this light as this light is the same as my light.'

That is the last thing his father says to him before they leave Excalibur still deep inside the stone. To this day, he still remembers the light Excalibur releasing that can rival his father. He wants to see the sword one more time just to feel the same light as his father.
